Malmaison Hotel Leeds

The location is great for shops and night life

I've been using Malmaisons for years. I think they have lost the fun they used to have. The toiletries....the little room signs all used have cool messages etc. The breakfast was very poor compared how it used to be. Especially the continental part... nothing to choose from.. To round up... Lost its touch and is just another city hotel now. Taken away all the little touches but put prices up.

Location brilliant. Room comfortable, clean and stylish. Lovely hot shower, enough sockets, good lighting. Breakfast was good, huge variety of food, although service quite slow, probably depended on the number of guests eating at same time. Very friendly reception staff.

When I searched on booking.com for hotels with car parking, this hotel came up. I selected non refundable price, however after booking hotel confirmed car parking was opposite hotel. Booked and paid separately, cost £41 from 8 pm Friday night until 3 pm Sunday afternoon, that was after a 35% discount from hotel . If I'd known car parking wasn't at hotel I would have booked another hotel with car parking on site. However i couldnt cancel hotel when i found out about car parking as would have lost money. I don't know Leeds so wasn't aware that city centre hotels don't have car parking. Had no problem with car park, safe and secure, it just that I hadn't wanted to pay extra. I will know another time . I would book this hotel again but will travel by train next time

Very convenient city centre location, just a few minutes walk away from the train station and shops. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice and staff topping it up too. Staff are friendly and polite. Room was modern and lots of storage space.

People slamming doors during the early hours but this is out of the staff's control. Shower head needed replacing as some of the rubber nozzles were missing which made the water come out a lot faster (and going over the top of the shower screen onto the floor) but nothing major so advised reception staff on check out. Would stay again but would ask not to be at the end of the corridor/nook in the hopes of avoiding noisy neighbours!

Very close to the train station, which after a long journey was a blessing. Check in was efficient, receptionist was very welcoming (apologies, I didn't get his name). Room and bathroom very clean on arrival. I was ready for a nice coffee in the room only to be met with an Espresso machine and demitasse cups. Bed was very comfortable, let down a little bit by the very soft pillows. Blackout curtains, ideal for a lie in. Very little street noise, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. Shower was perfect with plenty of pressure. Did not eat breakfast here so can't comment. I chose the option to dine in the room, very convenient after a tiring journey, but gave up after three call attempts and dined out after all. A bit disappointing. Nevertheless a great hotel and central to my needs. I would stay here again.

Would prefer a kettle as opposed to an Espresso machine.

What a lovely place to spend a Christmas break. A glass of sparkling wine and a mince pie on Christmas Eve was much appreciated as were the friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The view over the river was lovely. No parking on site but the car park was, as promised, only a couple of minutes walk away. No ridiculous tray charge was an added bonus although I wouldn't have begrudged paying it for the delicious food and seemingly endless supply of polite and good looking Northern lads who delivered room service!

A selection of pillows i.e. firm or soft would have been good.

The staff at MalMaison Leeds are AMAZING!!! we were booked in by the most wonderful guy who really listened to any needs or concerns we had and that really made a difference to our stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are lovely..the shower in our room was seriously better than the penthouse suite we stayed in at Radisson Peter St!! I am definitely going back as soon as possible!!! THANK YOU LEEDS MALMAISON ❤️❤️

The only snag was the little extra bed was slightly " collapsed" in the middle!!

Quality of room was perfect, we were upgraded and want to thank you for that as it was a lovely surprise.

I do feel that the service has declined over the years. We had to wait 30 mins to check in and we did not check out as there was a big queue at reception. One person on at reception is not enough. The staff were pleasant but defensive. Before we had even spoken to the receptionist, she told us our room would not be ready, we sort of knew it wouldn’t be as we arrived early and checked in later. Breakfast was lovely, but had to clear our own plates away to make space.

Right in the centre of Leeds minutes from the train station staff were so friendly and extremely helpful especially in the restaurant nothing was too much trouble,the breakfast was wonderful,much more than you could want or could eat,the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable shower lovely and powerful and hot and the Arran products were amazing will definitely be staying again well done everyone.

If I were to have small criticism it would be good I would have liked the pillows to be a little fuller, but I do know that is only my preference and would not suit everyone .

The rooms was very pleasant, with a good bathroom. It's well located in a nice old building. Nice to have EArly Grey tea but could have done with more bags.

I was surprised that the reception didn't have a line of sight of the main entrance and stairway, and there was no security on the doors to prevent anyone walking in and going up to the rooms. Given this is central Leeds, it seems a bit lax. Breakfast used to be much more luxurious. They have cut back but I guess the price reflects this Noisy people outside the room in middle of night.

The staff were excellent even though we didn't get to spend the night there properly as my husband was taken ill and was at the hospital all night there was no rush to leave the room the day after as we only got back just before check out. The night staff were amazing when I came back to explain and the night manger gave his mobile number and I was told not to worry about our belongings or room and that everything would be safe ❤️ my husband made a good recovery and we cannot wait to come back and eventually sleep on one of those gorgeous beds. Thank you ...amazing staff keep on doing what you are doing it's amazing 👏 🥰❤️
