Notting Hill Gate Hotel

Reasonably comfortable room on a quiet side street. Helpful staff. I was also able to leave my bags after check out and collect them later in the day. It's the usual for London accommodation: rooms are relatively small, accessed via stairs, and there is no A/C. I think this is fine and to be expected in the area. This hotel had opened the window to cool down the room, and there was a fan, which was good.

There was a nasty musty smell from the bathroom. The room itself was very tidy and sparkling clean, so I figure this was from the drains. The wifi signal was mostly good, but it dropped out completely for a while while I was on a Zoom meeting.

The hotel's location is excellent, as it is close to both the metro line and a bus stop, making transportation very convenient. The room, while understandably small, had all the amenities we needed, which was satisfactory. Despite being in a basement room, we were content with it, although we did notice a limited airflow.

The hotel does not have escalators, so if you are assigned to a high-floor room, it's essential to exercise caution. For travellers with heavy luggage, selecting a room on the basement level or the 1st floor would be more suitable, although be prepared to carry your luggage up or down approximately 15 stairs. Alternatively, the hotel does provide the option to store luggage close to the reception area, which is a thoughtful gesture from the management. However, it's worth noting that security could be a concern in this arrangement.

The hotel / facilities were very basic , but: 1. The location of the hotel was fantastic - smack in trendy Notting Hill and close to restaurants , shops, bars , pubs , tube station, and parks ( but on a quiet street) ; 2. The room was spotlessly clean , and while very basic was quiet, spacious, and well - ventilated ; 3. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and I had a very discounted price for my room ( last room to fill up ?) So, thank you , Notting Hill Gate hotel, for my short but enjoyable stay at your hotel !

A bit basic , but then I wasn’t paying for ( nor expecting) a five- star hotel . So, all good at the end of the day ! 😀

Good value for money. Room service was good. Staff was professional and friendly. The Room had tea, coffee, sugar and milk pouches with an electric kettle and tea cups. It also had hair dryer. Our room also had a balcony. Accessable to public transport, variety of restaurants and tourists attractions.

The room and the double bed was a bit small to fit a couple.

Location is absolutely a STAR. Great location. Very polite and helpful personnel. Clean rooms with adequate facilities, coffee and tea in the room. Hairdryer in the room as well. The gentleman in the reception very kind and allowed us to leave our suitcases in the hotel after checkout until the time we had to leave London in the afternoon.

Well, big disadvantage the lack of elevator. Difficult if your room is in the upper floors. No air-conditioning just one fan but effective. We visited London in a very hot day. No fridge. The beds were not comfortable at all, extremely soft, difficult if you have back problems.

Very basic but fantastic price. You get what you pay for. Comfortable, clean, simple and most importantly for staying in London in the summer there was a fan in the room.

Not that I didn't like it but important to remember it is a converted old house so there is a stairs/no elevators. Also, beautiful door out onto little balcony. Great for a couple but with a youg toddler it meant we had to keep it closed at night and it was the only source of fresh air.

they not service breakfast anymore... but it doesn't matter. u can have ur food in your room. tesco and sainsbury is close to hotel. also many restorant are nearby. and really close to nottinghill gate tube station and bus stop. and u can go to portobello market by walk. very good point for traveler!! and reception was always opened.

Maybe because it was underground, the bathroom smelled. Also, it would be better to change the dressing table chair cushion. If you are little bit lazy and want a spacious room, choose the basement and give up the Internet. If you want to be healthy and wanna good view and the Internet, choose a upper room and give up your heavy luggage. There is no elevator. Everything is your choice! it's up to you ;)

The location of the hotel is great, right at the Hyde park and Kensington palace. Underground and bus stops are in 2 min away. Nice caffees nearby for good breakfast. Rooms are nice, however asked to change the one and they did without hesitation, the staff was very friendly and it is indeed good value for the price.

Furniture was a bit outdated but it was totally fine and bearable. The shower was also a bit tricky but managable.

Great location close to Hyde park and tub. No elevator 2 floor with suitcase was not easy . The room was a bit small for 5 people. We didn't have enough room for suitcases. The Heat was on . very hot at night, had to open a window. The location was excellent therefore all didn't count

No elevator, very small, very hot at night . Bathrooms super small for a family of 5 .

The hotel is in a gorgeous location - next to Hyde Park, with many cafes (Cafe Diana - great breakfasts!), bus stops and a metro station nearby. Apart from that the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we got a room with a very nice balcony. It was also quiet and peaceful. The rooms were cleaned daily and we got new towels every day as well. We were allowed and early check-in and then on the check-out we could leave our luggage for free for several hours.

Wifi didn’t work great in our room. Also, the room itself was quite small - it didn’t matter to us, but if you’re planning on spending much time in your room I guess it could be important.
