DoubleTree by Hilton London - Hyde Park

Extremely quiet rooms, with enough size and a decent closet. The bed was really really comfortable, even the pillows, which was surprising because hotels' pillows are usually too soft. There is public transportation nearby, both tube and bus. We opted to use the bus since it is more relaxed.

The cleanliness could be better. It is something that looks common everywhere in London and I don't understand why. The towels were NEVER clean enough, every single day it was the same. The same happened with the beds. The sheets were always with traces of blood, food, ... not sure.. it was not extremely bad at all, but.. come on, it is a Hilton. This should never be missed.

- The bed was comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. - Breakfast was scrumptious and abundant - Friendly staff in the breakfast hall - We loved the location - super close to Hyde Park, restaurants, shops, groceries, tubes, and bus stops with buses heading straight for Oxford Street, Picadilly Circus and much more. - The staff in the reception were very accomodating and helpful. - Reasonable prices for roomservice food (we didn't order but we saw the pricelist)

- Lacked certain small amenities; - there were minimal toiletries in the bathroom - there were no extra toilet papers when we arrived and even after the room was cleaned 2 days later, we had to go out to purchase this ourselves. - there were no towels to dry hands with and the room had no bathroom floor mat. - The hotel should consider upgrading the phone docking stations as well as the tvs to SmartTV for streaming, media player, casting and so on... - Room cleaning needs improvement and attention to details. - The showerhead was fixed at one specific angle and we couldn't run it full blast, because it splashed water all over the floor, and we had no floor mats so it was a bit disgusting at times.

location is fantastic. 2 minute walk to tube station on the central line.

Overpriced for what it is. was upgraded to a king room but seemed tiny compared to other king rooms we have stayed in. Reception staff on times didn’t t seem interested. We asked multiple times for clean towels etc due to house keeping not being completed and staff on front desk didn’t seem to care. When house keeping did come - the lady was absolutely fantastic and apologised. she was clearly over worked but had a smile on her face and couldn’t do enough for us.

Everything was clean and tidy and in the morning breakfast was also very good.

At night there was alot of noise from outside our rooms with people and children running up and down , but as we were only there for one night we didn't bother complaining. But if we had been staying longer ,we would have.

Our room 519 was overlooking Hyde Park and even though there was a bus depot in the way of our view, it was still very nice. The dining room and outside dining was lovely and the breakfast was very good. I liked the 'Black Pudding' /Haggis, included.

The lift was out of order and from a previous guest, this has been for a long time. The lighting in the bathroom is totally inadequate for us to do our usual bathroom grooming. This was very annoying. Not enough space to store luggage and clothes for 2 senior people traveling the world. The otherwise very nice room was not ready for us to occupy when specified with a 45-minute wait.

We were given a room with a bath, which had a problem with the plughole and the water just drained away. Despite mentioning this to the reception on two or three occasions, noting was done about it!

Location is wonderful. Hotel is opposite to beautiful Hyde Park and amazing Kensington palace. Metro station is very near and the most important bus routes pass in front of the hotel. City sightseeing buses also pass in front of the hotel. Very helpful staff especially in breakfast room. Possible to eat breakfast in the garden. They serve very fast whatever u need. Angiezhka was very kind to us in breakfast room. Thanks to her very much. Our room was very comfortable with a Hyde Park view, and our bed was big and soft.

Clean and close to public transport. Right opposite of Hyde Park, often walked there after breakfast at the hotel for fresh air and dog/bird watching. Hotel staff were friendly and thoughtful.

(It is because I went during the Christmas period so I do not blame or believe it is the property's fault as they probably had lack of staff or were just busy overall but) Took them a while or not at all to send what we asked them to (Extra soap/shampoo, toiletries etc.), had to directly walk to the counter a few hours after or after our day-trips to actually get them.

Breakfast hall was nicely maintained - had good ambiance. Food could be tastier. Location was vibrant and happening. All staffs were pleasant and attentive to our needs.

Room could have been better - safe was broken and some panels on wall were coming out. Time to attend to in-room service can be improved.
