We stayed in the 4 bedroom Farmhouse Cottage. The living and dining space and kitchen were great for 4 of us. The kitchen was well appointed and looking out at the Horses in the yard and fields was lovely. A really quiet place to stay near loads of local places to visit. The included breakfasts were lovely.

Nothing - but it’s important to be aware that in the 4 bedroom house/apartment the internal staircase takes you to a single and one double bedroom - with the bathroom on the ground floor. You have to go through the double bedroom to another corridor with the second double, then through that to a single and then to the bathroom. The only way back to the ground floor is via an external staircase. It worked for us as two couples in summer (so external staircase not a big issue) and if each couple had a child. If not it could be complicated going through others’ bedrooms to reach bathrooms/ kitchen.

great, filling breakfast, loved having the self-catering option, owner helped us lit fire which kept property very warm and cosy. nice view of stable. everything was clean and loved the interior especially the pics of animals on the walls. perfect for a day away from the city.

as students we didnt have a car and the location was a bit hard to access. we booked chippenham cabs to get to and from the cottage but had a bit of trouble with checking out on time bc no availability of cabs for a while. so location may be iffy for students or people without cars but if u know how to get around with cabs and book them in advance, i think it's still worth the extra time as it is a perfect location for a relaxing holiday away from everything else.

the location, flexibility of the owners, and we got a lot more thank just a room for our stay. also the picture of the property on Booking.com don’t do the place justice.

there could be a mirror next to an plug point so you can see to do your hair. and orange juice made available.

I loved the size of the accommodation, that it’s an apartment rather than just a room in a B&B. We needed 2 beds, so this was the perfect option. The beds were comfortable with lovely snuggly duvets. The cooked breakfast was delivered at the time we requested in the morning with a cheerful smile from Mike (even though it was raining) - it was delicious with some produce from the farm or locally sourced when possible. We also lit the wood fire in the evening which was also lovely. It is on a farm and is a little rustic but we enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was top drawer. The egg yolks were of an orange color - a testament to their quality. The fry bread and sausages were next level. The Breakfast menu included salmon, a welcome change after 2 weeks in the UK. It was delivered to our door in a timely manner. The layout of the accommodations were ultra farmhouse, which was what we were going for. There was a friendly horse that frequented our window morning and night for salutations. The lane was a perfect place for a stroll, and while we never used the garden or tennis court, they were generously made available to us.

Nothing could have been better.

What an absolute gem... This has to be one of the best cottages in the Cotswolds. From the moment of booking, until we said goodbye, the whole experience was seamless. Jessica was the perfect host, making this stay memorable for all the right reasons. The location is idyllic, the property spotless, and the breakfast exquisite. Do not consider staying elsewhere, just book Battens Farm immediately. Many thanks Jessica, we will be seeing you soon!

Everything exceeded our expectations.

The Farmhouse was charming with beautiful surrounding. It was very spacious and comfortable. The host was nice. He also lit up the fireplace for us, which gave great atmosphere. There were 2 main bedrooms and 2 small ones, and 2 bathrooms, which was great. The breakfast was good with sausages and bacons from their organic farm. The location was close to Lacock and Castle Combe, and Bath was about 30 min drive.

First I’d like to mention that the followings are minor points. We still enjoyed our stay. The sink in the upstairs bathroom was too small and was too close to the shower room. It was hard not to spill water on the floor while taking a shower in the downstairs bathroom. So after my husband had taken a shower, the bathroom floor was all wet. The bedrooms were all upstairs and the upstairs bathroom was at the location where everyone, except for the person staying in the last bedroom, had to walk past inside other bedrooms to get to it.

Lovely welcome. Warm cottage, with a fire ready to light. The stables are right outside the front door and seeing the horses first thing in the morning, grazing in the field outside the window, was fab. Breakfasts were amazingly tasty and delivered hot to your door. Felt very private although there are other accommodations on site. Summer house and tennis courts were a nice addition. Plenty of wood supplied. Beautiful countryside on your doorstep, fantastic sunrises and sunsets. Peaceful.

A few more nights, we stayed for 3 and wish we could have stayed longer

The location is beautiful and very easy to find. The cottage is really cute and absolutely huge. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly and were really flexible with check-in times

We didn’t have any mobile signal and the Wi-Fi wasn’t working for us so bear this in mind in case you’re reliant on internet. We were there on a warm day and it was quite uncomfortably hot in the cottage and the air-con didn’t work so take a fan with you if the weather forecast looks hot
