Lovely, comfortable casual pub in a lovely town. service from the staff, especially Mickie, was excellent. she could not have been more friendly and helpful. we really appreciated the lunch she sent us off with for a long day of walking the South Downs.

The Blue Bell is owned by the community who rallied to save the pub from a new development. The room was comfortable, food was good, and staff service was excellent. We’re also glad we could stay here and support this small town’s effort to preserve their lovely community gathering place.

It was a welcome rest after a good days walk on the South Downs Way. The staff were great especially the chef and the young lady who was waitressing in the evening. Very attentive and nothing seemed too much trouble. Great service. However although a community owned pub, it was the most expensive on route (walking the South Downs Way) so maybe had higher expectations. But room was very clean and comfortable and although on a busy main road was quiet at night.

Cycling the South Downs Way, on arrival we were made to feel more than welcome despite the state of our clothes (we were covered in mud). The Bluebell has a cycle- maintenance location and hose for a bike wash and secure storage out of sight. Our rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, the showers - powerful and hot, and dinner was served with a smile and friendly conversation. The owners made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The food (was flavoursome and reasonably priced (and came in generous portions) and the beds were just what was needed after a 40 mile day in the saddle. Breakfast was well presented and tasty with cereals etc already laid out. A full English followed to get us off to a flying start. In some ways, we were sorry we were not there longer than just one night! In summary - Superb location. If you are doing the SDW, Glorious Goodwood, the Festival of Speed or Goodwood Revival or just visiting the area, the Bluebell is well worth considering for your accommodation or even just as a place to eat.

There was NOTHING about the Bluebell in Cocking to dislike.

The location was lovely. Food, at lunchtime and breakfast very good. Beds reallt comfortable. Staff very helpful and very friendly. Very nice stay. Would recommend. Thank you.

Little bit more space to put things, drawers or a wardrobe, but we were in a smallish room so it was as it was.

Nice community pub in Cocking.

Kitchen and bar close early on Sunday (although they were happy to plate up Sunday roasts for anyone who didn't arrive before the kitchen closed and let us help ourselves from the beer fridge and settle up the following morning.)

Community run pub in a small village on the South Downs Way. Staff are lovely. The room was small but fine for me. There was a function in the bar/restaurant but the staff made sure guests of the hotel had a space in the bar to eat. Nice cooked breakfast. would stay again!

Really lovely room. The bed was super comfy the En Suite was spotless. I had a steak dinner in the bar below my room that was really lovely and priced very well considering the on going inflation crisis. The staff here are the most welcoming folk you’ll meet. I stayed here for work but I’ll definitely be coming back on holiday.

Really lovely location and characterful pub which seems to be a bit of a hub for the community - enjoyed the local art on display. The food was excellent. Staff were friendly snd helpful.

One small issue was the TV channels available - important when you’re watching Wimbledon!
