The White Hart, South Harting

We had a lovely overnight stay. Room 5 has a nice period character vibe with lovely historic features. Dinner in the pub was very nice indeed, and of generous proportions. We found the bed very comfortable, the room was clean and fresh, the best equipped with everything we needed, and more besides. This has been the best stay over we have experienced over our entire six weeks holiday from Australia, even the heating worked beautifully!!. We would recommend the White Heart to anyone needing comfortable accommodation. Thankyou, John and Sue Turner.

Everything was in good condition and there are no complaints from us.

Really helpful staff, lovely room and very comfortable bed. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Lovely view from our window. Nice big bath towels! All very well equipped. Great to have the Dyson tower fan as it was a very hot day/night. Breakfast was lovely - had a full English and it was all nicely set out.

Heated towel rail in bathroom was permanently on and could not see a way to switch it off. Made the bathroom very hot and a waste of heat! No mushrooms with the breakfast - that would have made it perfect.

The building is exceptional as soon as you enter . The fire was on and the atmosphere was endearing . The fire that was on is of fairy tales. The staff , Sophie and Bertie were very attentive. . We were only there for a night . The bar was extremely well stocked of the wine we liked . I expected it to be a higher price . The room is separate to the main inn and it was beautiful. It was warm , clean , cosy and very welcoming. They have amazing extras that you don’t expect and they don’t spare on cost of furnishings. The room was perfect . Dinner was lovely , food was fab . we had the steaks . Breakfast is ready for you and a brilliant array . Lyn the breakfast host was lovely and really helpful and joyful. The magnificent fire was also lit , ready for breakfast. Will 100 percent re book but , the service charge is added on the final bill and I had already tipped the staff . They were fabulous and did deserve tipping but maybe just to explain before the final bill is presented. Thank you .

Very well appointed accomodation with a luxury feel and lots of extras to complete the experience in this charming cosy traditional inn. The room was very nice indeed. The staff were very professional and efficient and friendly and accommodated our requests. The room was very good value for money indeed.

The cost of the optional breakfast for the 2 of us was around 50% of the twin room rate so it added a substantial amount to the bill, however the breakfast quality was good and I can understand why it would be billed additionally and it was made clear it was not included.

Staff were super friendly and helpful even providing local taxi companies details. Very helpful when needing to arrive before check in time. The room itself was clean, spacious and had everything you could want. Also felt very private. Check in and out can also be done online via a link in your email so quick and easy. Breakfast in the morning was lovely (although this is not included with this booking). Would highly recommend this stay.

This was a last minute booking for an overnight work stay. It was conveniently located for my purpose, price was spot on, the room was modern, clean, well laid out with everything I could have wanted and needed! I had forgotten my phone charger, so to find a wireless charging pad in the room was a delight! My joy continued when I realised there was an actual coffee machine and pods in the room, not a kettle and freeze dried coffee! Bob and his team in the pub were SO welcoming, I felt immediately welcomed and relaxed! Breakfast was one of the best I have had in the last 5 years travelling with my job. Not only in quality of the food but the variety available and nothing was too much trouble! Highly Recommended!! One piece of advice to anyone taller than 5ft 6 …..just watch your head when walking in to breakfast…. lots of low beams in this beautiful period building!

Beautiful pub in a gorgeous location. Travelling with a dog, communication with the hotel was great and the room was perfect with direct outside access and they provided a dog bed, bowls and some biscuits. It was a flying visit, so I didn’t get to try the food but the menu looked lovely. The room combined the best of quintessential pub style, with stylish touches. The Dyson fan was very welcome! Amazing value, would thoroughly recommend.

really lovely location. the rooms were lovely too. breakfast was super yummy!

morning staff were great and in general the staff were really accommodating of requests but at dinner we were shouted at across the restaurant just for moving a chair for an extra person. frankly it felt like public shaming and was not pleasant. we understand it was going to be fully booked that evening but the table was free for some time and after we left so there was no need to react like that and if it was an issue then there were more appropriate ways of dealing with it.

We were walking the South Downs Way so any bed was welcome, but the White Hart was the perfect stop off. The staff were so welcoming and warm, the room was clean, comfortable, quiet, nicely decorated, excellent shower and beds - a real respite from our hike! Food was delicious too - both dinner (great menu catering to all tastes) and breakfast.

Beautifully decorated hotel. Family room was amazing both cosy and modern. Bathrooms were luxurious. Lovely selection of teas in the rooms with large tea cup ! We loved that the beer garden was in full sun, close to the family room and with views of field. The village is beautiful and peaceful which is what we were looking for. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was great ! We have a wonderful time!
