Herdshill Guest House

Great sized twin room, warm and comfortable. Good selection of hot drinks to make. Lovely bathroom with good shower. There is a large lounge area for visitors to use. Very accommodating with breakfast as had to leave early, made me and others bacon butties to go. 😊

Only downside was parking so close to the main road which I had to cross to exercise the dogs. Once over the road there was an excellent walk along a disused railway. Pillow on bed was a little too firm for my liking.

when arriving to the property we were warmly welcomed and shown around. The guest house it’s self it’s absolutely beautiful and the service received was outstanding. I would also like to add that the breakfast was absolutely delicious and I love that everything is made freshly to each guest. They offer a range of breakfast from hot to cold. This was our first time staying in a guest house and I can honestly say it won’t be our last. We haven’t stopped talking about what a lovely place it is. We stayed here for 3 nights and I honestly can’t wait to go back again. Thank you for giving us such a lovely stay at such a devastating time for us all.

All I can say is our host Scott and his little team were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfasts were superb, all freshly cooked to your choice. Scott was so helpful in directing us to railway stations, parking, sights to see, whatever we asked he had an answer for us, just want to say Thank You!

Friendly welcome. Nice spacious room with comfortable bed, and good shower in the ensuite bathroom. Nice fluffy towels. TV and tea/coffee making in the room. Very good breakfast in the morning served by pleasant, cheery staff. Good location for me with regular buses to Carluke and Wishaw just a short 10-minute walk away.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. There were some dusty bits in the room but it was basically clean and the room was well-aired.

Hosts were fabulous. Accommodating, helpful and kind. They even offered me some pizza! Love it’s a family home yet it feels very private. Fabulous little jug of frag milk. Lovely breakfast.

Only one small (pardon the pun). The sink was too high for my little legs! No teaspoons but that’s ok with me as I leave my teabag in, but other people may not.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, there was very good heating and the ensuite was spacious, spotless and modern. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The owner was very friendly and helpful, he told us the best way to get to our friends home and also the best route to the M74. We stay at quite a lot of hotels/guest houses and this was definitely one of our top 3, we will go back if we're in that area again, we would recommend Herdshill to our friends.

There really wasn't anything that we didn't like about Herdshill at all. The road outside was busy but we've been in far busier places and there really isn't anything you can do about that element anyway.

The host was uber friendly and fun. We laughed together, told stories and played with his dog all before we had even checked in. Breakfast was lovely and generous, and it felt like we were visiting a friends home for the weekend rather than a house of strangers.

Nothing at all. It was all good. I would have liked a toiletry caddy in the shower to place my shampoos etc but it was such a minor thing and I didn't give it much thought. I can imagine that the location was a bit far out for those without a car but I believe taxis are easy to come by, and the farm fields location is worth it. These are things that fellow "Four in a bed" contestants would have nit picked, but were a non issue for us.

Super location for road travel.. Close to many attractions and Glasgow industrial areas. So great as a work stop.. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The area is under much renovation so at the moment it's a little messy, but the houses and landscaping will make it fantastic in a few years I had a really nice stay with excellent food and Scott was always helpful,

Breakfast was excellent, good choice of menu. Rooms were clean & tidy. Very good location for both Ingliston & Lanark as a stop over point. Off road parking was an added bonus.

It was a drive away from any eating establishments for an evening meal. The floorboards were a little creaky for moving about on.
