Having stayed before, this is a hotel I always come back to when I'm in the area. The staff are great, the rooms are always incredibly well presented and clean. Comfortable rooms and very quiet, despite being close to motorways. If like me you drive a lot, the location is superb to go for a nice walk to decompress and relax. The food in the restaurant is really good as well and highly recommend it. For my job the location is superb as it has easy access to motorways both into Glasgow and Edinburgh and you can also access very easily places like Stirling if you want to go and visit the Wallace monument or even the Kelpies.

If I had to say something, and this is only because I work on the road and drive for long hours, would be that sometimes would be nice to enjoy a hot bath after hours of driving, but a hot shower sometimes has to do. Other than that, cannot say a bad word about this hotel.

Gary on reception was very friendly and professional with us at check in. The location was ideal for us visiting M&D's. The room was very clean and well equipped and everything worked.. Ensuite bathroom was very clean. The shower had 2 shower heads for a refreshing shower. Breakfast was buffet style ,help yourself, cooked items or pastry, toast, cereal and selection of fruit juices. The coffee was via a self service machine. A great stay and would recommend highly.

Only one wee thing was a random knocking sound every now and again coming from the radiator in the room.didnt disturb us too much.

Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from, was hot and well cooked. The food in the restaurant was cooked to a really high standard. The restaurant staff and the chef were friendly and approachable. The room was spacious and comfortable. Gary on reception was extremely friendly and very helpful.

There something sticking out of one of the sockets but Gary on reception was extremely helpful and had the issue resolved within minutes by having the socket replaced. There was also a few small tiles missing from the floor of the bathroom. We had what felt like an uncomfortably long wait from bring seated to placing order for one of our meals on our 1st full day.

We stayed at this hotel because the location suited our needs, from the moment we arrived Gary on reception really looked after us. It transpired the room we had booked was at the back of the hotel overlooking the hotel's function room, on the second night of our stay there was to be a school prom event, so without us requesting anything Gary arranged for us to have a room at the front of the hotel for the 2nd night, where we didn't hear anything. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was very good and the breakfast was exceptional. Both the rooms we occupied were large and comfortable with everything you could need. The Loch at Strathclyde Country Park is directly opposite the hotel and has a path all the way round, giving us a lovely place to have a walk.

Some of the staff in the restaurant need more training or experience. On the first occasion we used it we didn't get the food we ordered, I was given a glass of wine when I had ordered a bottle, it was white wine and was warm, then we were charged twice for the bottle of wine we eventually had.

The location and outlook of this hotel were excellent. The staff were very good. Check in went smoothly although we arrived at a busy time. We had booked dinner but the restaurant was quiet so didnt really need to have booked! Food was excellent and not overpriced. They were very familiar with preparing gluten free food for coeliacs. Breakfast was excellent and check out smooth. A great location so close to M74

Car park was very busy - only a couple of narrow spaces available. There was also a wedding on with loud music till gone midnight. Our rooms were overlooking the wedding - would have been better to give the guests rooms on that side of the hotel and other patrons the other side of the building. Room was very hot. No free sockets by the bed. Bright orange light at low level by the door on whenever the power was on

Front reception. When we arrived to check in,we were very early as we were attending a wedding nearby. We expected to have leave our luggage and check in once we'd been at our function. Not at all, Gary ,who was on duty when we arrived, researched the hotel room allocation and found a room we could check in for which was really appreciated. Thank you Gary 😊 👌

Whilst in the restaurant for breakfast, there was also a coach party present. There was only on hot water dispenser for tea making resulting on some time to wait to use.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Facilities were very good, comfortable and roomy. Restaurant served very qood quality food and the chef was very helpful with allergy requirements. The reception staff were particularly helpful with our changing situation.

Booking.com was very unhelpful with our changing situation due to Covid. Charging us nearly twice the current hotel rate when we had to amend our booking. Customer service were not interested in the customer relationship only their commission

The hotel is great and the staff are incredible. Very approachable, friendly, professional. Always tend to stay here every time I travel to work between Glasgow and Edinburgh, as it has access to both cities and makes a great base for me. The food in the restaurant is also very good and prices are very good indeed. Always recommend when someone asks for a place to stay. Love the fact that has the lake in front and it is a great place to rest after being on the road all day as it is very quiet and relaxing.

So far.... nothing to complain about.

We have been coming to this hotel for years due to the amazing staff and service we get here. Yes it's not 5 star there is no aircon so rooms can be a little warm and the fan you can get couldn't blow the skin off a custard BUT we love the staff the breakfast is top notch and we are always made to feel welcome. A nod to Gary on reception who is now part of the fixtures and fittings but always friendly and welcoming we will be back AGAIN if only to check the new girl on reception is as good as Gary lol 😆

No aircon and miss the piano player/band in the bar on a Saturday night

The charge for bed and breakfast represents very good value for money. The evening meal in the restaurant was of a very high standard and reasonable rate, and the breakfast choices were excellent. Parking spaces were generous proportions.

Minor repairs in the bathroom were poorly executed. I paid in full for the room but they needed a card to be registered in case of damages. It was suggested I might not be able to stay next time if I don't provide one...?
