The Wynnstay Hotel, Oswestry, Shropshire

The location and the breakfast were excellent and the room was comfortable.

We were rather dismayed on arrival. After a whispered conversation with her colleague on the reception desk to confirm that our reservation had been made through booking.com, a £5 charge was demanded for parking. This had not been published anywhere and when I remarked that we had not been asked for this in April, I was told we should have paid this. We felt that booking.com should be aware as in this respect the price we paid did not match our expectations. Nor did we receive a receipt for this additional amount.

Warm welcome, very nicely appointed and comfortable room with everything we needed! Breakfast was superb, cooked freshly and they customised my own cooked breakfast as I am gluten intolerant and went 'off menu'. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The bar/lounge was a superbly comfortable and well staffed 'buzz-y' area which was so pleasant to use for a pre-dinner drink with our friends - all in all a super hotel which we would return to without question!

Nothing really other than from a personal viewpoint there could have been more gluten free options on the dinner menu.

Stayed at the hotel many times in in past b.b but never made breakfast as it is always to early finally made it last morning of my stay this time disappointed nothing special could do with serving at least one hour later

Breakfast

Comfortable bed, lovely decorated room with modern bathroom. It was nice to to enter the room and find relaxing music playing. Good complementary teas coffees, and lovely organic products in the bathroom. I stayed one night for work purposes so didn't get the chance to use the spa unfortunately nor was I able to find it. Breakfast was good as well.

The phone in the room didn't work so wasn't able to enquire about a massage. The hallways are quite old looking I think they should also be renovated and upgraded. The area is in a small village quite remote and was not easy to get taxis to the main hospital, so we had to use Google maps to locate the bus stops.

Lovely hotel, newly renovated, the room and service was fabulous. The room was dotted with many little extra touches, chocolate, Nespresso coffee pods, DAB radio, handwritten welcome note, camomile pillow spray and the bath even had a rubber duck, bath robes, slippers, really high end toiletries and possibly the best shower in any hotel in the UK. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the staff were exemplary, friendly, helpful and attentive. 5 stars is probably not enough. Will definitely stay again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We only have 2 tiny bits of negative feedback, the breakfast served tea and coffee isn't up to the standard of the tea and coffee supplied in the room, especially as the hotel has its own coffee shop, a missed opportunity I think. The other again is tea/coffee based, milk in the room, the opportunity to be supplied some fresh milk would be far more desirable than the milk pouch things. Apart from this little bit of feedback, EVERYTHING else was amazing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fantastic Hotel Room amazing and private looking onto Bowling Green. Staff so friendly and Helpfull. Everthing clean and up market. Breakfast amazing. Location a short stroll into the Town Centre. Ample secure parking. One of the best weve stayed in for a short break will defo return. i explained that i am disabled and they moved us to a lower floor and offered assistance to get our bags into the room. We didnt need it as we were on the first floor.

No lift to higher rooms. Bar prices a little high and Credit Card only at the Bar and Resturant.

Loved the location of the hotel. Loved the the breakfast, muffin base presentation was a nice twist instead of square bread. Also enjoyed the choice of evening meals. As a solo guest felt very comfortable .Staff were so nice and very helpful and quick rectifying a problem in my room. Would be happy to visit again.

As a older solo visitor the a grump would be getting out of the shower. Nothing to hold onto for the step down.. Appreciated the rubber mat. And the room cleaners to clean the light switches.

The food was amazing, staff were good, quality of food for the price was really really good with fresh produce. The facilities in the room were great - coffee machine, selection of teas and hot chocolate, nice biscuits, good size wardrobe, side tables, desk, good hair dryer. Liked the selection of bathroom goodies as well, really good quality. Staff were helpful and always said hello, breakfast was wonderful. Location was fantastic as lots of places to eat and drink at walking distance. Spa was really really good.

Noisy corridor! There was quite a lot of noise right outside our room through the night including footsteps.

I absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave! The room, interior decor and furnishings, good choice of tea and coffee facilities in the room, delicious evening meal and breakfast, the list is endless. The staff were lovely and helpful, particularly the lady on Reception. It was quiet and didn't hear other guests coming and going during the evening which was a huge bonus. One of the best places I have ever stayed in. Wonderful.

Absolutely nothing.

We were given a room with a balcony which was a lovely surprise for our Pearl Anniversary treat. Spacious bathroom and a very comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was exceptional (we stayed 3 nights and tried full English, Continental and Eggs Royal). The continental was so filling with so much choice, the eggs had plenty of salmon and gluten free bread was catered for. My only criticism would be swap your sausages for a gluten free sausage - easily done. We loved the spa - lots to experience and my hot stone back massage was amazing! Staff everywhere were friendly and helpful. The gentleman serving us at breakfast was great with local tips on where to visit. Thank you everyone! Lynn Hall
