The staff were very friendly and helpful. At first we thought we were staying above the pub, but we were very surprised that we were in the adjoining building with no noise from the pub whatsoever. Obviously, there was traffic as we were right in the middle of the city. Unfortunately, the day/night was very warm and humid, and we had the windows open, although there were fans available for use. We stayed in the family room, which had two separate bedrooms with double beds in each. Plenty of space for us all, especially as we had 2 teenagers! We will definitely recommend the Albert 😊

We were very happy with our stay at The Alb. It is literally just around the corner from the train station and right at the heart of the city for doing activities. As a family, we had the quadruple room, which was more like a small flat compromised of 2 separate bedrooms and the bathroom, so we had privacy from our child, which was nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The inclusive breakfast in the morning was delicious. We'd definitely stay again if travelling through Shrewsbury.

The only thing that was difficult was the noise of traffic, which woke us up as we were trying to sleep just a bit, as The Alb is on a main road. This is not The Alb's fault. We live in a house not on a main road, so we're just not used to hearing traffic. We'd have the same issue anywhere on a main road. My son said he didn't notice and slept through, so I think this one point probably just depends on the traveller and what they are used to and how heavy they sleep.

property is very cute and a great location as it’s right in the centre of Shrewsbury town, the staff were quite nice and the bed was comfy enough. free breaks fast was also quite nice

you can hear everything outside, the windows are very thin as it’s an older building but due to being in the town centre it’s very loud at night time and I was woke up several times by ambulance sirens etc. we also couldn’t get the water in the shower to run hot so we didn’t end up using it in the end. they also offer ‘room service’ listed in a folder in the room but when we called they said they didn’t offer that.

The staff were super friendly, location was great, being able to come back to the bar after an evening in town was nice as well and watching Alice do cocktails and the security door staff remembering us made us feel at home and relaxed. The bar was so busy in the daytime with it being good weather and I was concerned it may be rowdy in the evening and it wasn't at all, and if we had of wanted to go back to the room (adjacent to beer garden) it would have been no problem. All good here, also breakfast was fab 😀 would definitely return and recommend.x

Rooms were spotlessly clean. Host was excellent and thoughtfull. We had the ground floor room overlooking beer garden and were advised on check in that the beer garden would be closed at 9.30pm to ensure our comfort - and it was. Very thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated. Coffee tea etc. in room was plentiful.

The only issue I had was trying to fill kettle in bathroom - it was too large to fit under the tap. I had to use mug to fill the kettle. Otherwise no issues and nothing to dislike.

I had no time for breakfast - a very packed itinerary ! I had a white wine on arrival, which was served in a chilled glass - excellent! The hotel is in an excellent position the railway station and bus stations are very near. Everywhere within the town / horse shoe of the Severn’s loop is within easy walking distance .

There is no designated parking and driving in Shrewsbury is not a thrilling experience. But there is great parking just over the bridge in Frankwell, a few moments’ walk away.

lovely room, very clean and comfortable. Staff were great and helpful and were happy to look after my suitcase whilst I attended a funeral. Breakfast was very nice with great choice.

The accomodation is right on a busy road and I can see that this would bother some people but I wasnt bothered by any noise during the night or in the morning and I slept very well. The windows are very soundproof so I see no problem but did hear another guest mention it in the morning over breakfast.

Room was small but everything we needed. just steps from the train and bus stations as well as the central area. But the real selling point was the fantastic little pub and the service we got from Ben. And the food was the best we have had in the UK!! We had the tapas (3 for 12£) thinking we would also order one of the yummy looking pizzas. No need. The tapas were large and fantastic. Very fresh and presented beautifully. Breakfast was perfect as well. Fresh avocado and salmon on toast. We would love to come back and spend more time in this charming little town.

You get some road noise and there must be a hospital nearby so a few ambulances went by. But after the evening rush things quieted down.

Staff were excellent- went above and beyond and all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing, tapas and cocktails were soo good. In particular the Mary Jane cocktail!! Room was great - in a building next to the pub so no noise when we got back ( we were out late though), the room was perfect for what we wanted- no the ritz but we weren’t expecting that! Had everything we needed and all clean and comfortable. Great price and great location- would definitely recommend and will return 👍🏻

It was all fab! If I had to say something I’d of liked a full length mirror in the room! But that digging to find a fault!!

I would recommend the Albert to anyone looking to stay in Shrewsbury. We had very comfortable rooms with plenty of amenities. It's very handy to walk from the train station and close to shops, cafes and pubs .Breakfast was very nice, the staff were helpful. We had an evening meal in the Alb bar which was really tasty. There was water, and tea, coffee and a little fridge in the room which was very handy.

Not much left in the soap dispenser in the bathroom when we arrived but we had brought our own and I'm sure they would have replenished it if we'd asked. There could do with being a little shelf in the shower for your own toiletries, but these were tiny niggles. We had a fantastic stay and I would stay there again without hesitation.
