Foxhills

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Foxhills with our two children for my husbands 50th. We stayed for two nights and we’re very impressed with the variety of things for the kids to do. The Pavillion is the family building with large heated indoor and outdoor pools, softplay, games room and a cafe with activities throughout the day for varying ages. It was VERY busy as it was such a Hot weekend as most visitors were members of the country club and not actually hotel guests. There were still plenty of space with lots of deck chairs and loungers for everyone. The residents pool (another heated outdoor pool) was an oasis of calm in comparison. Smaller, but much quieter. There is also an adventure playground and a new little forest garden. We tried out the new forest school type activity with the WONDERFUL Kasia and our children really enjoyed it too. We also did some crafts with her and our kids were so engaged. She is great with children! There are beautiful woodland walks around the property too. My husband used the gym every morning and I had a swim and sauna in the HealthSpa every afternoon and we were very impressed with the facilities. We hd dinner in the Fox Dining Rooms and the food was wonderful. Also had a children’s menu which was excellent and unexpected. Breakfast was very good. Continental buffet and a cooked breakfast if you wish. Good quality ingredients all round. A few little niggles (see below) but overall an absolutely fantastic stay and excellent value for money.

The scrambled eggs in the Full English Breakfast were terrible. Stick to fried eggs! Also was not very impressed with the food at restaurant Nineteen. Quite uninspired pub grub and expensive. Beds were a little soft

The premises and facilities are out of this world. From the moment you enter the establishment you feel luxury and exceptional service. The best for us was the outdoor pools and children playground, soft play and crèche (at a cost but we didn’t mind as the service was exceptional) The room was exceptionally big, nothing compared to other similar hotels we stayed in the area It really felt relaxing, having breakfast in bed was the cherry on the top

The food at pavilion and golf restaurant could be a bit more up to standards compared to the hotel restaurant I would have expected barista coffee and not from a machine - having said that they had great kids options so that is great Other

Room was nice and bed very comfortable. Bathroom and shower were good. The staff were all excellent. The spa and pool lovely and clean. Good facilities in the gym and lovely yoga session/ instructor and fitness instructor. Great to have outdoor heated pools.

Hot water tap at sink in bathroom was extremely hot, ( too hot to use). The bathrobes were a bit worn and not soft or comfortable. Definitely need renewed. Breakfast was quite good, restaurant food between the two main facilities was very average and limited choice. Not anyone’s fault but having to walk outside in the pouring rain from the room to thd facilities wasn’t ideal. Also no one’s fault, but a power cut for an hour was quite inconvenient.

the hotel itself was fantastic, accommodated for everyone and anyone especially families

booked a 2 night stay, the temperature of the room was boiling 25 degree plus, when I mentioned it to staff on the first night she said she would get someone to check the room. no one came, there was also a travel bed and not a travel cot, again when I addressed this she said they would replace this, second night came and nothing had been done. considering we had a little baby the room was not suitable for him to sleep in, we had to keep the fan on all night and have him in our bed due to no cot and high temps

Second visit here and its a really beautiful setting, the location, facilities, decor, room styles and staff are all exceptional and fabulous. The only areas for any improvement (and its minimal) are the rooms need Air Con and free standing mirrors, no one wants to do their make up in a hot bathroom and the restaurant evening food is just not quite there on flavour. Its not a bad meal you just expect incredible because of the setting and price and it falls slightly short of that.

There isnt anything not to like, minor tweaks and this is a perfect hotel

the junior suite is amazing. lots of space and very well equipped. large selection of teas, sugar, real coffee and fresh milk a bonus. very comfortable bed and a great night sleep. food in the fox restaurant is amazing. well worth the cost. service from the staff excellent with lots of attention to detail and made to feel very welcome.

no air conditioning so would imagine it would be quite hot in the summer. accommodation is in a separate block so have to walk outside in the elements to get to and from main building. wasn’t aware of this when booking. An umbrella is provided in room.

Had a two nights trip with my two daughters to this beautiful resort within one hours reach of London. We had a great time - the premises are amazing, embedded into a forest and a golf course with so many great facilities for kids (indoor soft play, games rooms, heated indoor and outdoor pools, adventure playground). We had a standard twin room and an extra bed - room was spacious enough for the three of us! Would highly recommend

Food at IXI was not great and did not have any healthy options. As an alternative there is only the fine dining The Fox Rooms which is more for couples/ special occasions or the very casual cafe Flo's... it was ok for an easy dinner but would love to see some healthier options on the menu.

We went for the standard room. To our surprise this was still a lovely huge room. Such a comfortable bed. We had a balcony overlooking the golf course. I still think slightly overpriced but that's just being picky. Dinner was exceptional service. The best food we have eaten, all 3 courses every bite was amazing. Also beautiful restaurant. Again with breakfast same thing. Such a variety to choose from. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The spa was the best hotel and spa I have ever been to. I normally find them to be less equipped (understandably) but this had it all and lots of space too. We will definitely return

We had the junior suite that is very close to the Courtyard pool which was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. We felt that nothing was missing from the room apart from drinks from the mini bar. We enjoyed our stay very much! The facilities were excellent! Very comfy bed!

The neighbours had their tv on very very very loud until 12am. I believe the tv should not be allowed to go over a certain volume as it is standard with other hotels. There could have been an nespresso machine in the room as it is very standard these days. The breakfast was excellent although we felt like we had to ask for many things to be brought onto the table. I believe a hot pot of coffee should be brought to the table without asking for it.

We loved everything at Foxhills and will be back. To the location, the staff, the room, the facilities - the staff at every touch point from reception, foyer,, dinning room, and the spa and wellness team were incredible and could not do enough to go out of their way to please us. Everything was perfect. My husband and I had such a great weekend. The dining food was beautiful and the wine menu pairing was well thought out and delicious. The spa facilities were so clean and we enjoyed speaking to the regular club regulars, who were so welcoming too. The clay courts were such a joy to play on!

Genuinely couldn't fault the place. If you pushed us to find a fault was there was no cafertier in the room, but we just flagged it and it was bought to us within minutes. So can't really complain.
