Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford - Formerly Jurys Inn

Nice modern hotel, close to city center, friendly staff, spacious rooms.

It’s a bit expensive for the price honestly (and we didn’t even get breakfast). The rooms weren’t adequately cleaned, and one day they folded and placed back our wet used towels. On one other occasion, (mind you that we stayed here for more than 3 and a half weeks), we called to request some water in our room, as some days it was replenished, some days not, and the lady at the reception told me that as our room was a standard room it doesn’t get replenished every day. I asked for tap water then, they asked for a £6 delivery fee when our room was the first from the reception!!! I am not picky with my hotels, but you spend over £2.5k at a 4 star hotel, you’d expect better service, especially over some water!

The hotel is very clean, the staff are welcoming and it is a great location for the city centre. The number 6 bus is just a few mins walk from the hotel and only £4 return. The staff seemed very happy to help. The swimming pool was a nice added bonus and the changing room was clean. The pool is quite warm and it was easy to book. Car parking on site is £6 for 24 hours which we thought was very reasonable. Good location for nearby areas. We went to Stratford upon Avon one day which was 50 mins up the road in the car. We also got the bus into Oxford every day from the stop over the road, which only took 13 mins and the buses were very frequent.

Our toilet did not flush properly but not a major issue during our stay. It would be good to have changing cubicles in the women's changing room, as the only option was to change in the toilet.

Everything there is good. Staff is so understanding it is clean or if you have any complaints you can ask them they act straight away. My Husband was on wheelchair they serve us all breakfast downstairs they all are so good. I have no words to say thanks.

Just few thing if they can fix it. Their lift which work for going upstairs for breakfast should work all the time. For people with disabilities or with kids on pushchairs. They should have something in halal atleast or vegetarian like jacket potatoes that guests will not go out. It will grow their business more. Room service charges should be less.

Lovely hotel. Super helpful staff in rooms and reception. Crisp Clean linen. Gym and small indoor pool. Wonderful rooms. Great breakfast served in Marco Pierre White venue. Bus stop in walking distance so no need to drive around.

The restaurant Marco Pierre White A total disappointment. Revolting rude front of house manager. Clueless and confrontational. The meals presentation was poor. Would have thought with a Top chefs endorsement care would be taken. The Alchemist in centre of Oxford put this establishment to shame.

Fantastic hotel, with very good breakfast and proper dining for the evening. Room and facilities clean, with fresh and discreet fragrance, not that stuffy smelling you’re finding sometimes in other hotels. I was impressed with the size of our room, comfy clean beds and very nice shower room. The hotel has a gym and a pool, sauna too. The price for what you getting is awesome, so pleased. I highly recommend.

Sometimes the receptionists - they were plenty of them at the same time! could be more aware of what’s around and step on whatever needs to be refilled- like the water stations, I saw some of old guests struggling to get that little drop of water left in there, to drink it, and the biscuits. I think that’s a really nice gesture of the hotel to give this touch, I know for facts not many hotels are doing that. Thank you for your courtesy , Leonardo Royal.

We have stayed here before and the hotel still maintains its high standards. The hotel is handy for being near the bus routes into Oxford. They stop just outside, round the corner. Breakfast is top class, with everything you could want to eat. I thought the dinner menu was limited. Rooms were lovely, but it you like a view, then these rooms don't have one. We had an upgrade to the superior rooms, and looked out over the back of the hotel.

Being charged for parking in the hotel car park. £6 per night! I used to stay here when it was the jurys inn. They never charged for parking. I thought the menu was a bit limited for choice of dishes. The Cod was off the menu for both of our nights stay, in Leos bar, but the club sandwich was delicious.

We travelled with our 2 kids aged 10yrs and 15yrs to attend a wedding and had originally booked one room for a night. (a second room was provided at no extra charge as the hotel had a problem with our original room). The hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of spaciousness, design and level of facilities. The reception area was lovely with lots of seating and created a great first impression. The breakfast was very good with both full English and continental options. The hotel is only a 10min taxi ride in to Central Oxford where hotels are at least 2-5 times more expensive. There is plenty of parking.

The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a little on the small side. The parking fee of £6 could have been including in the room rate as a nice little touch.

Excellent welcome,and the room was ready for us on arrival,good quality bedding, comfortable bed, good choice of food on the buffet for breakfast.didn’t get chance to use the pool as we were too tired after our busy days . All staff we came into contact with were very friendly from restaurant , reception,housekeeping and management

The room was booked for 3 adults but the room was prepared for 2 so we had to request the top ups, the next day the room was again prepared for 2 guests and so we had to request the extra items even though there were 3 items of sleepwear on 3 separate pillows. There were quite a few stains on the carpet, the shower screen had not been cleaned properly and there were a few hairs at the back of the toilet seat.

The hotel is excellent, it was better than I expected for the price. Lobby is tastefully decorated and smells really fresh and has a coffee shop, nice bar and restaurant and small shop selling essentials. Staff were polite and professional and very helpful and the rooms were perfectly clean and well equipped with hairdryer, iron, kettle, fridge, toiletries (except hair conditioner so take your own.) 2-3 miles from Oxford City centre so location was OK. Breakfast was good with an ample selection of all the usual foods you'd expect.

Considering the hotel has its own grounds with huge private car park and was a way out of the city centre, it was disappointing they charge for parking. It just seems like an unnecessary extra squeeze on your cash. The room overlooked a construction site which was noisy from 7.30 onwards. September heatwave 32 degrees - air conditioning in the room was excellent when on, but troubling that it kept switching itself off after an hour so it was very uncomfortable overnight we had to keep getting up to turn it back on as the room was boiling however I appreciate that these temperatures are not typical for the uk and air con is a bit of a luxury here (I live in australia where air con is an absolute must everywhere so I guess I am used to having it)

Location was great and very practical. Design was good and furniture very comfortable. I liked the moves towards sustainability. Staff were very helpful.

Tiles in the bathroom floor were a bit wobbly and room a little cramped for 4. Small things like it would have helped to have 4 mugs and 4 towels as there were 4 of us booked in. I loved the sustainable moves but it would have been great to avoid the plastic bottle of water in the room and we would have happily reused towels but housekeeping replaced them all. If moving towards being greener avoiding individual biscuits etc and having options for things like toothpaste tablets rather than tiny tubes of Colgate would be amazing. Mostly though very impressed on that front.
