The room was spacious, lots of storage space available. Very comfortable bed. It was all clean, spotless ! Breakfast was really good, I loved "no food wasting policy" and choosing your breakfast the night before. Very friendly stuff, very accommodating. Perfect location, 5 minutes walking to Penzance, but still away from all the busy crowds. It's a dog friendly place, our Charlie was very welcome 😊🐶 It's a great little spot with locals, feels much better and more authentic than other busy touristy places.

It can be busy and loud at night, but we knew that already, as it's an In, not a hotel. So, heads up, if you're not bothered with it, then enjoy the pub and good company.

The Swordfish is set in what could have been a smugglers den in times gone by right next to a small fishing marina from the outside it looks olde worldy and the bar does as well adding to the character of the place inside the room it is modern up to date and very clean welcomed our one night stay the bed was .mega comfortable and a choice of thick or thin pillows highly recommend this place.

Newlyn is a little bit away from Penzance 35 mins walk but it had a lot of small catering businesses around it so food was available this is a very minor thing in my view the place was fantastic.

Lovely staff. Perfect location and the pub had a very traditional feel to it. Great little outdoor area to sit in too. The room was big enough for 2 and the bedding was very clean and smelt lovely and fresh. Great size bathroom with a walk in shower. Only negative really was there was no mini fridge to keep milk in for the provided coffee, tea (I'm allergic to uht milk ) Great cooked breakfast provided. All in all a good place to stay for a night

I thought it was a little pricey but then again there was breakfast included

Traditional BnB in a traditional fishing village. Atmosphere in the pub was great, with music and laughs with locals. Room was well sized and very clean, with breakfast options taken night before in preparation for following day. Exceptionally comfortable bed, with two large singles together as a superb double. Plenty of options for dinner in the village.

The pub is extremely lively - sing along/karaoke on a Thursday night and customers outside the pub talking loudly and smoking underneath the room window to midnight.

It is a tiny and cosy place (only 4 rooms). My room was huge! The whole building is quite historical, I felt like I moved at least 50 years back in time. There were several breakfast options, I went for the English breakfast, and it was very tasty. The staff is helpful and friendly. The inn is not very close to Penzance (it took me around half an hour to walk to the train station, and I'm a fast walker), but there is a bus stop quite close to the inn.

Please be aware that there is a pub (and beer garden) in the same building, so if you are sensitive to the noise, it may cause sleep problems (there is no soundproofing).

We stayed for one night before catching the train home. We were made to feel welcome, and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and they showed great awareness in catering for dietary requirements. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we had a great night's sleep.

As to be expected from staying above a pub there was a little noice from the bar although we found it surprising quiet in our room and slept well.

Breakfast was excellent and the room was spacious and clean with a really large double bed. We were right on the path to Mousehole which ran along the road and there was the promenade and small parks to walk the dog in the evening.

It’s what you often get with pubs, especially now, but the room we had could do with a bit of a freshen up to make it more inviting.

The Swordfish in Newlyn is fiesty, raucous, in your face and a brilliant laugh. Don't expect early nights but do expect a warm welcome and a good time! There is a hearty breakfast served at 8.30am with lots of alternatives. The pub doesn't do evening food but you're very welcome to get a takeaway and eat it in the pub, they even provide cutlery. Lovetts is great for wine and lite snacks, Lewis does great fish and chips and The Bridge for Italian food. Lots of places were booked up for evening meals so worth reserving, even in February! Rooms are clean, warm and cosy. Bear in mind you are right above the pub so it will be noisy till the pub closes. Friday night is band night so if you don't want to get up dancing then probably best to go out! Thank you to Helen and her team - Maggy, Georgeous George and Kim - for making us feel so welcome, it was a great stay

Parking is a bit of a pain with a short stay car park right behind the pub, so you need to work the times out as you can't return after paying for 3 hours. Parking is free between 6pm and 8am.

The pub is cute and has charm and the staff were welcoming. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower was fine. The location is great for a stroll around the picturesque harbour. Also great for "people watching" the locals. Breakfast was good. It is serve at 8.30 which worked well for us - I think would have been more flexible upon request. Security was good for residents - pub users had no access to the corridor where the rooms were - there was a locked door for resident's access.

We expected noise and were warned about the live band, but I would advise people that you aren't going to be able to sleep before midnight here - it probably isn't suitable for families with children. The bathroom could do with some attention - there was a lot of noise from the pipework and a few other housekeeping issues, but they were small ones. Parking isn't easy, but it is possible with a bit of exploration.

The location was fantastic, just out the way enough and very scenic. It wasn't easy to get to the main town from here. The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Check-in was tricky as it is an operating pub so busy on some days - we came during a local band's gig on a Friday, so it was packed and we couldn't get to the desk easily. Seagulls were noisy in the morning, but that's kind of the charm :)
