Staff very friendly and efficient. They were obviously very busy and overheard a couple in the dining room say they had waited over an hour for food..we didn't wait quite as long as that but when it did come the food was was lovely. We only stayed the one night and breakfast was included...that was also very nice... cereals..toast..and full English if required...also some smaller cooked options.

Our room was in the attic....as we were experiencing a heatwave it was quite stuffy...had to leave the window open but as our room faced the main road it was noisy....also a very bright light on the outside wall of the inn shone into the bedroom despite having the curtains closed.

We had a bedroom in an attractive outside building which was very nice with a little lobby and a good sized bedroom and bathroom. Very good value. Good vibe as a small and busy rural pub, which encouraged most enjoyable exchanges with other visitors in the evening. Food was excellent, although service had moments of quirky randomness with waiting staff, who whilst utterly pleasant and absolutely meaning well, were perhaps at the limits of their resourcefulness on the night we stayed. Breakfast very good.

Car park was full on arrival (early evening) after a long drive, but we got lucky with a space freeing up as we arrived. No doubt ebbs and flows and you could be lucky or unlucky. Not sure where you'd park in the village if you were unlucky. (We had a nightmare parking at a village pub elsewhere once, in the Yorkshire Dales, so we are perhaps unduly sensitive to this issue, much as we like trying to stay at remote village pubs!)

The New Inn was exactly as we'd hoped. A little off the beaten track but not far off the main road and with easy access to wherever we wanted to go. Excellent base for exploring the area. The pub was well staffed. Service and food excellent both at breakfast and in the evening. Clearly a very popular pub with locals and, we imagine, the wider community. It was good to see a business apparently thriving in these difficult times. Our room was clean and comfortable which was all we would expect.

We really couldn't complain about anything. Would recommend The New Inn to anyone without hesitation.

Breakfast was really good, well cooked and hot, full English was excellent. Dinner in the evening was excellent with a good choice of meals. Rooms were nice & clean, the only fault with the room we were in, room 2, did not have a window that you could open and the fire escape was accessed through our room and the emergency light was a bright green which was permanently on which affected our sleep and had to be covered with a towel to block it off.

As I said above the emergency light was an issue and there was damp running down the wall in one corner. Dogs are an issue for us as there were so many of them in the rooms and in the bar.

The pub is a fantastic, proper quirky country pub with a collection of little rooms and snugs. They have an on site Brewery (check opening times for Brewery Tours as they are limited) and serve a variety of their own products. If you prefer the usual name brands of lager/beer etc, the staff are extremely knowledgeable on what you will like from their range, but you definitely should brave one or two out of your comfort zone. The food was impressive, we had evening meal and breakfast. Some of the bedrooms are also a little quirky which is unfortunately a product of the shape of the building but they are clean, the beds are comfy and they have everything you need for an overnight stay.

This is not a complaint, it's a fact, due to the area in which the pub is located both the phone signal and the Wi-Fi are a little hit and miss. When it's on it's good, but it dips in and out. We had a variety of networks on our collective mobiles and at different points in our stay had signal or didn't depending on where in the pub we were. Not a problem for us, just a point to note. The surrounding area is amazing for walks, hikes but unfortunately the entire time we were there it was raining which made some of the trails inaccessible or at best muddy and slippery, hence my earlier mark.

Location, decor, furnishing, breakfast

Felt that staff attentiveness and awareness was poor, apart from the lady serving breakfast who was lovely and on the ball. . Was largely ignored at the bar prior to check in, despite there being 2 staff behind the bar one of whom wasn't serving I wasn't acknowledged or spoken to. The person who showed me to my room wasn't certain what time the bar closed, a crucial question as I had to go out to get food. Really nice pub in a lovely setting but sadly did not feel welcomed as a guest when I arrived.

Staff were lovely. The food was excellent, well cooked and plenty of it. Our room was good, it was clean and the bed was very comfortable and 2 good pillows each. Toiletries were provided along with tea and coffee, etc. Plenty of hanging space if you were staying more than one night. There are plenty of parking spaces.

Next time, I would ask for a room that was not in the eaves as my husband bumped his head every time he was in the bathroom as the ceiling was low and slanted Apart from that it was a great stay.

Everything about our stay was excellent A great pub with a fantastic atmosphere and well supported by locals and guests. The whole establishment was spotlessly clean and the room was excellent. The food was very good especially the breakfast of which the sausages are amongst the best I have ever tasted. The whole breakfast was well cooked and presented. The customer experience was very good. Will definitely be returning.

Maybe the stairs but it is an old building and this didn't detract from our stay.

Could not fault the breakfasts, wonderful and the lady staff member who served was wonderful to the point and down to earth and comical. The evening meal we had was well prepared and very good, all round very enjoyable, thanks to all the staff for making it a comfortable stay

Was a bit of a trek up to the room but we were only there morning and night so not really a problem for us but for elderly people may be a problem, apart from this not really a problem.

We stayed one night with breakfast. The meal in the evening off the pub menu was superb excellent value for money and very large portions. Breakfast was also great with a full english breakfast but you can have other options if you do not want the full english. The rooms are comfortable. Large shower and toiler facilities. Tea and Coffee. Excellent WiFi. I would highly recommend This Pub/Bed and Breakfast. Not forgetting a dog friendly pub and some of the rooms are also available for your dig to stay.
