Beautiful old building in central Henley, a stone's throw from the river. Room was spacious (bathroom almost as big as the room!). Comfortable bed and well equipped with coffee machine and all the usuals. 'Caution hot water' label on the hot tap did make me chuckle! Food very nice, but problems with breakfast (see below)

Staff need some more training/ help. I ordered room service and they struggled to understand their own menu (which is all in French and a bit pretentious). The one server at breakfast was rushed off her feet. I didn't manage to get any coffee. Options a little limited for the price. It's a very expensive hotel so I'd expect things to be a little sharper with service.

Everything. the location was perfect, the staff were lovely and went above and beyond on a number of occasions during our weekend stay. big thanks to the reception team and the lovely Scottish lady at breakfast (sorry don’t know you names) and the younger lady who was helping to serve. really made our stay with the added attention to detail, we will be back soon! and hats off to the chef - breakfast was so tasty and well presented. gorgeous decor throughout too! we even got upgraded to a view of the river :)

lack of parking which was tricky but we managed to get parked in the hotel car park on the second morning. the bar staff were abit slow. I had to wait ages for a hot chamomile tea…by the time I got it my partner and friends had already finished their soft drinks. The tea was lovely though but just not quite the level of service the other departments gave.

In a great location, lovely period feel, whilst being contemporary and stylish.

Some of the devil in the detail was lost. They need to maintain the upkeep on the finer cosmetic details such as scuffed, marked walls, frayed carpet, broken cracked window sills. The Venetian blinds in the upstairs of our suite were dusty and made the interior look cheap. A nice textured or patterned Roman blinds would have given a more luxurious feel. Bare minimum soft furnishings, again simple things like some pot plants, cushions, throws could of given a more comfy, luxurious feel.

Staff where very friendly and helpful during the day. Beautiful surroundings and the room we stayed in had a bath on the balcony which fitted us both in and was very romantic. Bed is massive and very comfortable. Tastefully decorated and a gorgeous building. Dining looked amazing albeit not eating in the restaurant. One staff member went above and beyond and was very happy to be there which made us happy to be there. A smile and manners are free after all. Pet friendly and they provide a bed and bowls which was a really lovely touch for our baby poochie. Overall 8.5/10 but it could have easily been 11/10 had the small errors been avoided but it understandably as it was more human error than done out of lack of care to guests

beautiful suite and perfect for a romantic get away but they definitely need to invest in a steam cleaner for the sofa upstairs as it’s definitely “a lurrrrve” seat and was fairly stained. Also took longer than 45 minutes to bring up a plate of meat, bread and crisps when ordering late night room service because “the chef was late” when any staff member could have slapped a bitta meat and bread on a plate and brought it up. However it was complimentary given the wait for it so 7/10 for the snack. Flowers were available to purchase for an extra £50 but the bouquet was quite lacklustre so I don’t think we were charged for them but I was expecting a BOUQUET not a small collection of roses. We did use them in the bath though to make it more romantic so maybe a smaller bunch was better?

Location was perfect for exploring Henley. Building was full of character & staff were great. Size of room was decent.

Decor poor in bathroom, needs some TLC which I wouldn’t expect from a £300 per night hotel. Being charged £30 for their own internal car park having paid £600 for the 2 night stay was very disappointing. Also no power sockets by bedside table which was a bit strange/frustrating.

The washbasin in our first room was blocked so they moved us to an enormous, three floor apartment which was very luxurious though it did require quite a haul up and down the steep stairs. It was a great treat and we enjoyed the room a lot. The hotel was so quiet on our second night there was nobody in the dining room so we went elsewhere for supper. Food and service were good on the first night and the staff were uniformly excellent.

Parking is an issue. £29 a night for valet parking or a public car park half a mile away.We took the cheaper option but it was a bit of a pain.

I enjoyed the heritage building. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I enjoyed having the lovely bath and shower options and the toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities were great. The Bar and Bistro areas were really nice and the staff in the Bistro were very friendly. We really enjoyed the food and wine. The reception and concierge staff were also very friendly and helped us with everything that we needed during our stay. The location was spot on for our special occasssion and for exploring Henley.

Parts of the room were looking a little tired. A blind was broken and you couldn't open the windows very easily to get some fresh air. The area around the sink was water stained and the decor could probably do with a little spruce up soon. The heritage building hide some of these sins well. Small things really and they certainly didn't ruin the overall stay.

Stylish, freshly decorated, cosy and warm and I could control the temp. Nice clean carpets, bed, mirrors and glass. but as it’s a hard water area the shower taps could do with a bit of a shine and shower head spurted one jet in an odd direction due to a bit of calcification. A towelling bath mat woukd have been useful so I didn’t have to put hand towel on the floor. I liked the Nespresso coffee machine but there was no UHT milk/cream or sugar. this form won’t let me split these comments to paste into next section so please do that yourselves I not writing it over.

They upgraded us to a suite. Fantastic room, bathroom and seating areas. Excellent facilities. Bathroom had bath and a walk-in shower. It used to be a brewery, so has many of the old bits still in the structure. Attractive. Had dinner and breakfast, both excellent.

The suite was accessible up long flight if stairs and there was no lift. We were only staying one night, so we didn’t take our heavy cases up to the room. On a longer stay, going up and down stairs would have gotten tedious.

Room was a great size. Good views and decent storage. Very comfy bed. Location very good. Very central. Hight St and river moments away. Breakfast excellent. Good service though we were practically the only ones in the dining room, which is huge. I imagine that when the hotel is full, the queue for the toaster would be very long! Staff at the front desk were extremely helpful.

The carpet in the room as a bit shabby and didn't seem clean. There were no tissues (not a big deal but would have been convenient). The safe was broken, which I had wanted to use. The fridge other than some milk pods, was empty. The pillows were feather and not that comfortable. The room was chilly and it was a bit of a challenge working out how ro heat the room. Would have been useful to be shown but the person who showed us to our room. Car parking great but at £29 a night, I thought expensive. The bar was not great. Only 2 choices of beer and one of those was not in operation. Barman was really young amd no one on hand to help him with cocktails. Settled for a bottle of beer which, tbf, was very good.
