Holiday Inn Express - Bodmin - Victoria Junction, an IHG Hotel

The friendly and very helpful staff, especially Lily who told me about an area I was interested in, she had local knowledge which was fantastic. All the staff must have been chosen so carefully, it's very refreshing to see every member of staff happy in their jobs and more than willing to make guests feel welcome. They were happy enough to store 2 medical ice packs in the guest freezer for me and made no big deal about retrieving them for me every morning.. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding, congratulations it's most impressive and makes one feel relaxed knowing such care and attention have been given in keeping the hotel spotless. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Bodmin as a central base when driving around Cornwall.

The lack of storage space in the room, it would be great for an overnight /weekend stay, however we were here for 4 night's and had to keep underwear etc. in our cases. It would be great to have a drawer or two under the lockers.

Room modern and clean, has all the essentials. Bathroom standard is above most of the similarly priced accomodation. Staff is non-imposing but otherwise really nice people, ready to help anytime you ask.

Breakfast offering feels extremely generic and the hot bits seem to be ultra-processed food. Eggs were mixed to death before turned to scrambled eggs. Just leave a bit of white /yellow texture for the love of the lord! A cold plate with fresh vegatables or vegetable salads would have been so much better. Do provide some emental cheese, proscuitto or ham for international travelers. How about proper cereal french bread and some baguettes, not everybody likes the sponge sandwich.

Not the best planned bathroom for disabled ie toilet roll holder blocking full use of the grab rail. Also pull cord hanging over grab rail. Shower seat too low for easy transfer.No chair in bedroom suitable for alternative to just sitting in ones wheelchair. Why no rooms on the ground floor as single lift will only take wheelchair user alone unless carer is a stick insect. Little hanging space £6 a day carparking is extortionate even the best 5* hotels charge less than this!

It was all well laid out and smart looking, also we have never stayed anywhere that was so accommodating to the dogs, beds, bowls, treats, poo bags, areas they could sit with us to eat or drink, and bins outside for the bags, and plenty of space to walk them round, we were impressed with everything for us too but for the dogs you went way beyond anything we’ve seen before, thank you xx

more a suggestion rather than didn’t like, you could put a small light on the inside of the bathroom rather than flooding the room with the main bathroom light that has to be turned on outside the bathroom for night time visits

Friendly and professional members of staff. Very informative and helpful. The room we had on the ground floor was very quiet and clean. We liked the little note from the cleaning crew in the room. Such a nice touch. Breakfast was well presented and enough choice. More than enough sockets to charge any possible gadget. Bathroom was big enough as was the room. Very economical but well presented. The bed was comfy and the couch was nice and comfortable as well. Even though it was around midnight when we came back, we still could order a nightcap at the reception/bar. We had a fabulous, leisurely stay. We will definitely stay here again.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. Only one really minor, miniscule thing is that I like my shower tiles new. The grouting looked a little grubby. That's me nitpicking.

Even if it was near the motorway it was really quiet. Lots of park in front of it, shops and restaurants around if needed. Room very comfortable, with a nice king bed and a little sofa. Big powerful shower which is a pro! It was lovely and very clean, breakfast nice and with good variety within the price paid. Soy milk and veg sausages available. Wouldn’t fault anything. Perfect location to reach all main towns and attractions in Cornwall.

Location - great. Very close to motorway but set back enough so not bothered by traffic noise. Breakfast - lovely, fresh tasting. Dinner/Other meals - Pub style meals. Could not see healthier/lighter options. Good portions though. Equipment provided - really liked how blow-dryer, iron & board etc was located in unit behind floor to ceiling mirror. Hotel - relatively new so everything shiny and clean!

Price of room for 1 night for 2 - on the high side. No bathmat in bathroom. Only one working electric vehicle charger for the hotel. It doesn't matter which company operates EV chargers - people expect them to be available in 2022! Good news we found out is that hotel is putting in quite a few EV solar powered chargers soon - but too late for us!

Very Friendly staff Rooms are good size and very clean Great Location Parking right in front of the hotel. Next to hotel there are lots of options to eat Overall we were highly impressed with our stay and will stay again.

Some more toiletries would be appreciated. They only provide body wash (refill) and hand wash. Make sure to carry your toiletries with you. It didn’t affect us as we always carry our own toiletries but there are people who rely on the hotel.

New property, clean, well positioned next to the services. Excellent facilities as I use crutches and sometimes a wheel chair. Booked a disabled room which gave me space and the necessary aids to remain independent.

The only issue I had with the property was that, had I been in my wheel chair and for all the amazing facilities available to me, I would not have been able to access the room. The door was extremely heavy and I only just managed it with my crutches, using one to keep it opened while I tried to get in. In a wheelchair I would have had to ask someone to come with me to open the door.

The location was great. Easy to find and close to Heligan and Eden. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Cleanliness in the restaurant was excellent and all the staff worked hard at keeping the whole area clean and tidy.

Not enough wardrobe space or drawers to store clothes. No comfortable seats outside that are away from smokers, the wooden benches are uncomfortable. Too many dogs allowed to walk through the restaurant and too many people making loud video calls in the restaurant. Cost of car parking too high.
