South Causey Inn

Great location for a wedding we attended, really well appointed facility which was exceptionally well presented and clean. The staff were superb all throughout our stay, so polite and with a passion for what they do. Food and service was also top notch. The wedding itself was a great event and managed really well

Check in process was a little awkward, having to use the App instead of just being able to check in after a 4 hour journey. In the end our details were located and we were checked in without fuss. The first room we were allocated was not up to expectation, the Harley Davison room. It was upstairs above the restaurant and was a little compact, dark and dingy as well as being adjacent to the kitchen extraction fans on the roof. This issue was quickly overcome in a friendly manner and although we had to pay a small supplement we were relocated to the farm house quarters which were fantastic and really complemented our stay.

The staff were excellent, obliging, and helpful. I forgot to pay my restaurant bill and was rang and spoken to very professionally. I wasn't made to feel awkward. A gentl at the bar said my larger was flat I couldn't tell but the barman threw it away and brought in other staff to correct it.. As a wedding venue it was amazing . It has 4 seperate differet areas , decorated beautifully and not interfering with each other. Great master of ceromonies. Excellent grounds for photos.The restaurant meal was reasonably priced.. comfortable seating in the lounges. Quick check in , check out procedures using 2 seperate desks. The owners have thought of everything.

I got my expensive room, In a rush not realising what a vast range of accomodation they have to offer through a booking company . The room small but adequate. It had a lovely extra aircon to make up for size. The bathroom was basic no way of keeping room dry when showering, however an amazing shower and very obliging staff replacing wet floor towels. Lovely and clean with a soft bouncey bed. I'm still not sure if the posatives out way the negs where the room is concerned.

Room was beautiful and clean. Huge bed.. given champagne on arrival with water and crisps and cake. Very peaceful location. All we could hear was birds tweeting/wind blowing. Picked a perfect sunny day to explore the views and enjoying the scenery in each others company

The food was awful. We ordered chilli nachos, End up bad from 11pm. we booked up for the one night stay.. Its a shame there is no settings on the tub in mews room and is set to 40 degrees in the summer. Doesn't make sense. So tub wasn't used for long. Bluetooth didn't work in the mirror for sound surround

The breakfast experience lacked that little bit extra …. No toast and the porridge had to be returned but was probably down to the amount of folk at breakfast all wanting their breakfast in an instant. The main let down was the room, food from a previous guest was found in the wardrobe and there was a smell of drains/toilet as of it had just been used …..

Amazing stay after our weddding. Bags were already in our room when we arrived and they accomodated a really late check in for us. Driven to our room to save us walking and breakfast the next day was delicious. Room was much bigger than we were expecting. Fabulous bathroom. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Nothing, just a lovely stay!

The location was perfect for visiting Durham and surroundings. Our rooms were very comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay. What stood out to us was the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff. They were very helpful in suggesting places to eat in the vicinity and also more than willing to assist in anything we asked of them. A really lovely place to stay and we would definitely return if we were to visit the area again.

We were there for a Wedding and the facilities fantastic , All the staff great , all the food was great . The room we had was average size , very comfortable and clean , view was rubbish , looked out onto a flat roof with air con unit or something like that so for the price we paid was expensive . Overall it’s a great venue for any occasion

Have visited many times, this particular time was for a wedding. Could not fault the staff, nothing was a problem. Breakfast was amazing, morning & breakfast staff went above and beyond. Easy check-in/check out.

Felt for one night the price was a lot compared to what we have paid before.

Room in main building very clean, warm and comfortable. The entire complex of buildings were very welcoming and beautifully presented. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. All staff were very pleasant and obliging.

The function we attended was in the farmhouse complex and outdoor weather was wet, windy and cold. We found the marquee and function rooms in the main farmhouse building to be chilly and could have been better heated.

good location, friendly staff, loved Eddie the dog and the owner was very friendly. Good food, clean room.

kept awake by a couple at a wedding party next door to our room until after 2am, this was not the venues fault and as soon as we phoned reception this was addressed immediately and handled brilliantly
