Wychnor Park Country Club

I stayed here with my partner and two kids who are 9 and 12 for the weekend while we went to Alton towers I was over the moon with the apartment we stayed in it was a home away from home there wasn’t anything they hadn’t thought of and perfect for a self catering get away and the size of the apartment were brilliant so spacious and added bonus of a en suite in the master bedroom! The grounds were beautiful peaceful and the on site activities were an added bonus for a family stay.

The only downfall to our visit was there was road closures when we stayed which made things a little tricky but these things happen and we didn’t let it affect our stay.

The place was in beautiful surroundings, the swimming pool was lovely and well organised, the facilities were clean and smart and there were many outdoor games available. Whilst we were there we were able to use the restaurant for a family get together. We had to cater ourselves as there are no caterers yet, we enjoyed this though and had planned for each of us to add to a cold buffet. The Staff were so so accommodating and Andrew and the team even came out to oversee everything so our party went well, they even washed up for us. Everyone was bowled over by how helpful all the Staff were and we were thrilled with our choice of venue.

There were a lot of flying stinging insects on site though the grounds were beautiful with no mow May in place which was a great thing to see! Mosquito repellent in the shop might have helped though! More choice of self catering food in the shop would be useful too eg gluten free, vegan, veggie. Also people far from the main house suggested that there could be a few trolleys to take bags to rooms, or a porter service. Also the wifi was poor.

The pool facility was good and enjoyed the experience there. The main Reception at Wychnor always very helpful too. Location very nice and the cabins are situated in a lovely area too. The grounds appeared well tendered too.

No restaurants or bar faculties on site and not been for a several years which does make staying at Wychnor for us very limiting. Plenty of places to visit externally but a car is needed which limits the enjoyment of the holiday. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, so sleeping was not good. Cabin decorations and room and bedroom furniture very dated but serviceable.

Wychnor is set in lovely countryside. The apartments were very spacious and well stocked. Staff were friendly and helpful both during the booking process and during our stay. It was a perfect place for a group of friends to use as a base to finish walking the National Forest Way.

The access from the A38 and getting back onto this busy road is difficult. Clear signs are needed on the approach to the entrance. Satnavs also sometimes try to take you via an alternative route ending in a gated green track!

Amazing little houses and apartments to spend your holiday in, we came as a group of disabled clients and support staff and the rooms were very big and had enough room for everyone to have their own rooms. unfortunately Back 2 festival has been moved next year but if it hadn't we would definitely have stayed again yesterday.

The parking situations were a little bad but that is expected when its a big area and not enough room for lots of parking, we didn't have to search long to find a place, even if it was a little further from the apartment.

Apartment was very clean ,new furniture, plenty of space. 2 large bathrooms Plenty of storage Excellent well - equipped kitchen with plenty of tea/ coffee and fresh milk in the fridge. Pool and gym were ok

Finding the accommodation was a nightmare, Navi couldn't locate it. Ended up driving through fields and taking far too long to get there. There's a kind of lost feeling about the place which is a shame as it's very beautifully presented. Maybe the lack of restaurant/ food shopping ( the nearest possibleshops are miles away)/ bar is at fault. It lacks a 'heart'. There's something not quite right, it's maybe a work in progress ? One of the apartments outside seating area was in the middle of the carpark.......????

Spacious and spotlessly clean rooms. Staff friendliness top notch. Leisure facilities.supply of clean towels and cleaning material prompt.All request attended to without attitude.Nothing too big for them.Requests attended to consistently.beautiful walks and parks around the hotel. Children play area available.Facility .ketters for all ages.. Rooms well equipped with beautiful effects including dishwasher. Extra bedding available in wardrobes.

The sign posting to the hotel very poor right from the main road. You turn into this side road and directions disappear.There is even a sign saying "The End" Me and my party got lost a few times..

The little cottages were so clean and comfortable. Beds gave a wonderful night's sleep. There is so much to do there. Swimming, golf, crazy golf, lovely walks, tennis, basket ball, football. However it is also so very peaceful.. Close to Alrewas for the war memorial and also Barton Harbour for a nice stroll.and lunch.. Staff were so very friendly and helpful. Suited all ages of our party..from.2 years to 50!

Not much, just a few small details. Kitchens weren't very well stocked. Jacuzzi wasn't working. Crazy golf course could do with some TLC, very tired and covered in bird mess.

The accommodation was spotless,cosy,well furnished and spacious. Staff very helpful. Clean towels including dish towels. Changed when we needed them changing. Leisure facility good although we didn't all make use of it due to weather. Lovely bar in hotel. Lovely grounds with children's play area. Good for unwinding away from City life.All ages caterd for. Place loaded with goodness I have not described it all.

I was not expecting my accommodation to be upstairs and had not requested accessible places. Once upstairs everything was on thesame floor which helped. It's only because 2 of my family members struggled with steps.

beautiful setting and grounds. Lots of activities to do. Manor House was lovely and shared the history of the place. Lorraine was excellent and helpful as was Tracy in Reception. Text messages from reception were helpful and was fun to do the quiz night. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and perfect for our stay. Was nice to have tea etc in the property as well.

little to find disappointing - the crazy golf area could be tidied up a little and unfortunately the jacuzzi remains out of action but this is due to repairers being unavailable
