South Beach Hotel

South Beach Hotel in Troon is a fantastic place for both you and your furry friend to enjoy a relaxing stay. The fact that they are dog-friendly really sets them apart. Made to feel very welcome. Shown to our room and shown where bars, restaurant etc are located. Staff are lovely. Room was large and comfortable. Decor and furnishings dated but were in keeping with the hotel building. We had superior room on the ground floor with a door giving direct access to a pretty garden area. Had dinner and breakfast, both were good. Breakfast, no fruit available as per the menu. Dinner and breakfast had good vegetarian and vegan choices. Excellent bar service with lots of choice. Wide variety of draught beers available. Good location for beach, town and Town Hall ( we were attending a gig there)

Lack of fruit and bread choices at breakfast.

Staff excellent and breakfast good. Great room size. Served our needs for the night. The function we went to could not fault the hotel for that.

small bed and stained bed cover. dated decor. broken blinds. Handle on cabinet missing and no light bulb in lamp next to mirror. Light in vanity unit also not working. If stayed more than one night would have asked to move. Room a bit over priced i thought, shame a but more TLC and could have a great hotel.

ONLY ONE THING I WOULD FIND FAULT WITH WOULD BE THE OVER THE BATH SHOWER, NOT BEING TERRIBLY STEADY ON MY LEGS, THE WAS A BIT TOO HIGH FOR MY LEGS TO GO OVER. I DID MANAGE IT BUT WAS A BIT HIGH FOR ME> THE SHOWER WAS GOOD AND THE BATH WAS FINE UNFORTUNEATLEY I AM UNABLE TO GET OUT ANY BATH.

All was well with check-in, room was warm, large bathroom and comfy beds. Bar was excellent, good choice of beer, comfortable atmosphere. Food was good at dinner (in warm conservatory), waiting and bar staff were brilliant! Thank you.

Breakfast was a bit rushed, all items appeared to be pre-cooked, and portions were smaller than expected. £140 for B&B is a little steep in my opinion.

Beautiful, big bedroom with a sea view. Room was spotless, tea tray was well stocked, and the housekeeper was in every day. Staff were very nice, made you feel welcome. I asked for a sea view room and wasn't disappointed. Hotel is in a great location, 10min walk from town and train station Food was really good, breakfast was brilliant. We had dinner a few nights and I would recommend the smash burgers. Very reasonable and will definitely stay again.

Its in a great location with parking. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The rooms were big, clean and had everything you would expect. The breakfasts in the morning were lovely and l would not hesitate to stay here again.

We found that the windows in our room were drafty. There were curtains which blocked out the drafts but l think the owners should look at upgrading them. Beds were quite firm which didnt suit us but that is just personal preference.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, delicious breakfast and a good choice, lovely evening meal. Very good value for money.

Service was a little slow with the evening meal but they were very busy especially in the garden due to the glorious weather and there were 3 different eating area's for the staff to cover. Bedrooms at the front of the hotel were quite noisy with it being the main walking route into town.

The room, outside area and overall hotel experience was all very good. The dinner was absolutely gorgeous and we would come back for that alone.

We stayed Sunday into Monday and after a walk in the town, having been so impressed with dinner the night before, we returned to the hotel for lunch in the garden. Sadly we were then told lunch wasn’t available. Lunch options would have made the trip just perfect, but we ended up eating crisps. There were several customers looking for lunch as well as ourselves and I feel you missed a trick there - especially as your kitchen staff were in the kitchen and visible.

Stayed at South beach hotel for a night as we were going to a wedding reception near by, from the moment we arrived we were made very welcome, had dinner booked and food was amazing , nothing was a problem, when we came back from the wedding reception, Connor was on hand right away to make us Coffee, he was very pleasant and lovely to talk to, room was really lovely and clean and plenty towels , Breakfast was perfect and again couldn’t do enough and everything was freshly made , we will definitely be back for a stay and would very highly recommend
