The staff were lovely. We got lost , so we phoned the hotel and the two girls very kindly helped us. She used her satnav and she directed us straight to the door. The food in the Maridien was perfect. Location was perfect for us

Wanted a shower at 5pm and the water was cold. Even the water in the sink taps was lukewarm. The old window frames let in a draught in so many places, and i was cold. If i stayed here again in the winter I would just make sure i had a heavy jumper. And pick a different time for a shower. The water was very warm in the morning

The room was clean, a good size and had everything we needed. The staff were great, particularly as I left my phone behind and it was posted back to me - thank you! We felt the room was very good value for money and although we didn’t have breakfast, we had a couple of drinks in the bar which was very friendly.

There was a lot of noise from outside at pub closing time. As it was a very warm evening, we had the windows open so it would have been quieter if we had closed them. We had trouble finding the car park so it might be worth giving the road name on your details, particularly as the postcode takes you to the front of the hotel and you can’t turn left to get to the car park as it’s a one-way street.

The location great , the hotel in general was good restrauant good food at decent priced at the two course for £16. Car parking free also good , the staff very helpful no problem when we requested a late check out all in all enjoyable stay and would recommend . The young girl serving meals and drink was very helpful and polite a credit to the hotel

Beds quite uncomfortable with spring movement and bed kept moving about as casters not locked. Not keen on shower over bath and really should be shower cubicle only in hotels now ,although shower was good force, also high baths struggled a bit with sore knee. Bath rail.not working. Tv should be better fixed on wall free space at table. Also dissapointing breakfast not included in the £91 a night room ,and to buy seperately add on at £12 + each , takes room to over £114 + per night which is a bit over the top,

The room was situated at the rear of the property over looking the free car park. It was a cozy room, a single bed against the wall. Tea & coffee facilities, television with free view. The bathroom was very modern, clean with a fantastic rain shower head. Clean towels. The breakfast was situated in a cafe next door, so I didn't use this service. I recommend this hotel.

The only thing that wasn't as requested was I booked a double room and I was given a single because I was travelling alone. This was disappointing.

Exceeded my expectations after reading some mixed reviews. Staff were very friendly and the pub and bar attached were a great bonus

Mug bedroom was on the top floor and due to a reduced ceiling height the shower head was not fixed to wall meaning I had sit down showers. Not the end of the world but would probably my be unsuitable for an older guest. Awoken by seagulls and traffic at 6am as my room was positioned on the front, my fault for not considering the location. My colleagues were roomed at the nacho and they had no complaints.

What a lovely little gem of a place this was in the centre of Ayr! We came to Scotland for our anniversary and the UCI men’s elite race in Glasgow so stayed 2 nights. (From Sheffield so quite a drive!) everyone was very friendly and we ate in the bar both nights. Lovely food! About 5-10 mins walk to a lovely beach. 2 mins from Ayr station and 5 mins walk to a good Morrisons breakfast! A fab weekend. Well recommended. Thankyou to all XXX

The staff were all lovely, welcoming and couldn't do any more for you. From parking my car for me in their car park when a space became available to giving us advice on food and where to go for live music and cant forget the bar staff who were equally as helpful too. Service with a smile was what we recieved from everyone. Showers were great too and the toiletries were an unexpected extra.

The mattresses could do with an upgrade but it didn't stop me from having a good sleep. The room decor wasn't my taste so could do with an upgrade. But don't let that put you off from staying.

Very friendly old hotel. The dinner in the pub of the hotel was excellent. The reception and bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

The only down side was that we had to go to the Meridian next door for breakfast, which was owned by the same people. This involved going outside in the pouring rain to get to breakfast, and the Meridian was more 70's decor, which was not in keeping with the hotel.
