The Gailes Hotel & Spa

The food was very nice. The location is also great, near the beach and close to the golf course aswell (although I dont play golf). Room was a decent size also.

I dont think the room warrants the kind of money they are charging. I paid half the price of the usual room rate and for the price I paid I think it was worth it however if it had been at full price I would feel disapointed. The room was nice but Ive stayed in far nicer for the same £200 plus price. Also didnt like how you had to pay £20 pp to use the facilities like gym etc since this is the first time I have ever seen that in any hotel ive stayed in.

Lovey scenic comfortable staff couldn’t do enough to help very friendly and welcoming atmosphere beautiful and Morden interior fantastic facilities and quiet at night peaceful location close to all amenities.

Dog friendly nothing against dogs. in the rooms are one thing however to be allowed in the restaurant where food is prepared and served is not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel and I thing not ideal at all only issue we had was this as was very unexpected.

Been before so knew it was a decent hotel

I had a family emergency on day 2 of 3 and spoke to the manager about checking out early and she informed me it would cost me extra. I couldn’t understand and was a little bit shocked so I asked for details and she continued to be rude and treated me like a fool really. I called Booking.com at the time and they called the hotel but it ruined my time away.

Meals were excellent and served by very efficient and knowledgeable staff. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every day and towels refreshed too.

Distance from the town centre. No bookable spa treatments, if I was to return I would have to book in advance

We had an issue with a guests dog barking for several hours in the evening while it was alone in a nearby bedroom - we contacted reception who tried to address the matter- it continued till 11pm when the owner returned to the room - lits if young families were staying in the hotel and this must have been a major issue for them as it was very loud

The breakfast was lovely Reception allowed us into room earlier than 3pm as room ready. The room was comfortable and clean The bar/lounge areas/coffee shop were lovely and modern and god facilities

Didn’t realise had to pay extra to use the thermal suite but think because we booked through booking.com can of book direct with hotel so didn’t read that part properly.

Waitress at dinner were excellent food also excellent overall a great experience

Receptionist at reception could have been more friendly on arrival

The restaurant area, the sports bar, the spa, and it has a really cool driving range :) room was nice also.

There is a charge for using the spa if you book through booking or Expedia. I thought that was terrible, as we went specifically for the spa, which we found on Booking.com. if it weren’t for booking they would have not gotten any of our money, so why did we have to pay extra and people booking though their own website get it free. If they’d had added the 40£ charge to my bill when I got the room Id not have cared, but to be charged as we’re going in I felt ripped off. First room we got was bitterly cold, and ground floor, people walking passed the window. they swapped up to Floor one. was much better.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful

Everything was great, food, staff, everything. The only thing if we had to say was the bedroom was very hot. The heater was turned off so we couldn’t really see why it was but the heat hit you when you walked in from the corridor. Still it didn’t spoil our stay and we would stay again if ever in the area.

When settling the accommodation bill, I noticed an 'over-charge' of £70.00. Fortunately, I had paperwork / confirmation from Booking.com and, eventually, was able to convince the Receptionist of the correct rate for three rooms, etc. In addition, I did mention that the rate of VAT quoted / added at the time of booking was 20%. Since then, the rate has been reduced to 5%. This would have made a considerable difference to my accommodation bill but the hotel simply advised that I take up the 'issue' with Booking.com !
