Location was excellent. 2 minutes to the town centre and beach. Train station just about 10 minutes walk. Lovely wee town with a range of shops. Excellent friendly pubs nearby. Hotel’s lounge was very nice and nice music and sports available on the television. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and nothing too much bother from the staff. Freshly cooked . Has lunch and a dinner in hotel and was excellent. Good choice of menu. It is an old building and a bit dated but spotlessly clean and warm. We would definitely use the hotel again.

It was hard to find staff as I had to check out before 8 am. I tried the bar, the restaurant, I even rang the bell at reception but just ended up leaving my keys on the reception desk. I appreciate the nature of the hotel as have stayed a couple.of times for work before. So I know there's not staff about til breakfast starts and after the bar closes. I also was back for 10.30pm hoping for a drink to take to my room and relax, but everything was locked up.

The main thing is the location from where we could travel wherever we wanted like Glasgow, Edinburgh and beach. The beds, pillows and couches were very good and comfortable. All the staffs were very friendly and helpful. Full English breakfast was included in the deal.

There isn’t anything that I didn’t like but I have one suggestion and that is the hotel needs to improve topping up tea, coffee, milk, sugar etc. everyday because some people like me drink loads of coffee.

Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They were very accommodating, helping ensure we had a secure place to leave our bike overnight. The location was central and easy to find. I really like old hotels with character and this one had plenty! While the building is old, the bathroom was renovated. I really liked having a bathtub to relax in after cycling for the past 3 weeks. Breakfast was made to order, filling, and tasty. Quiet location and comfortable bed made for a good night’s sleep.

Staff were lovely very friendly and helpful sat in the quirky bar for a few drinks which was lovely had food was delicious hot and fresh as was breakfast in the morning. Bed was comfy and bedding clean.

Room needed a lick of paint walls were marked bedside cabinet in room had lots of large white watermarks on it dusty and cobwebs hanging from ceiling shower needs a good clean too no curtains on the window either people passing can see in

Cooked breakfast was well up to standard. The lack of cereal because of covid was disappointing and imagination could have been used. The staff at breakfast were very pleasant and did their best to meet our needs. Staff at dinner were agreeable but forgot to do as they had agreed to do.

The lack of cereal for my granddaughter because of covid was understandable on the first morning. On later mornings it was poor...Kellogs do individual retail packs...we did not suggest them to the Hotel but are disappointed that they did not solve the problem in this way.

Hotel - lovely setting in Troon and local train station a short walk away. Rooms great, bar area and breakfast very good. Staff helpful, We would definitely stay there again, if a hotel was required in this area. There was also a lot of memorabilia relating to the Troon Golf Course, which was informative for enthusiasts

Considering the age of the property, it had been kept in excellent condition. The interior and exterior are well looked after. Staff were brilliant breakfast was excellent.

There was nothing not to like about this hotel property.

Central location. The burger that I had for dinner was served with excellent sauces. Breakfast was quiet and unrushed.

The bedroom at Room 8 was a little tired, eg the front was coming off one of the drawers.

Superb breakfast - my husband had been travelling all day and really needed to find somewhere to rest and refuel after a very trying day (he had more travel ahead of him the next day), the hotel and staff provided all of that and more. Greatly appreciated.

The only thing I didn't like was that I hadn't had the opportunity to stay at the hotel with my husband - he gave it such a glowing review!
