Location good, next to harbour and with free parking but walking distance to town. Apartment was attractive with a slight nautical theme. Shower very good with lovely complementary toiletries. Staff were friendly and helpful with Reception staffed 24/7. Adjacent Scotts restaurant very good - make sure to book, even for breakfast, as its extremely popular.

Our particular apartment was on the side of complex overlooking log yard so didn't have the view shown in adverts. There is no door or full wall between bedroom and living area so no privacy if you share with guests using the sofabed. The apartment above had very squeaky floorboards and guest who constantly paced back and forth but perhaps we were just unlucky.

Situated next to the harbour, the view was excellent. All facilities required were available. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were pleasantly furnished. They allow pets to stay, and provide an excellent dog wash for after those beach days. A nice bag of dog treats and toy ball were left for our pouch, as well as a large pet blanket for use whilst staying. The room had an enclosed terrace, and outside furniture.

That dogo could not be left in room alone, even to dine in Scott's Restaurant upstairs. Their policy suggested that the pet be left in the car at this time, but as it was 27 degrees, this was not an option. There was a strange wall in the middle of the room which, if removed, would have provided a lot more space. Room was large enough for two adults, they did provide a sofa bed to accommodate four adults, but I think it would have been a tight fit! Also, there was no door on the bedroom, so even though they provide two excellent TV's, one in each room, you cannot watch different channels at the same time. Also without a door, there would have been a lack of privacy if more than one couple staying.

The whole building was well appointed and well maintained. Everywhere was spotlessly clean - there was not a hint of dust or mould anywhere. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. They had thought of everything - from modern radiators and snuggly blankets for cold weather, to a fan and great windows on all sides for warmer weather. It was lovely to have both a powerful shower and a huge bath, with Arran toiletries provided. The balcony was small but it was a delight to sit out and watch the comings and goings in the marina. Parking was very close by and was not a problem. The staff were very friendly and we received a warm welcome.

We loved the location, being so close to the Marina when the weather was beautiful was fabulous. The room was spotless, facilities were all amazing, so modern and little details thought of. The bathroom was amazing, and the shower was fantastic!

The only thing that was a small detail that was a bit of an annoyance was the green sensor lights placed around on the roof at different points in the room. During the day we didn’t notice them at all, but they were bright at night and there was no way of covering it or dimming it. Unsure if it was a sprinkler/detector system. It didn’t stop us having a great night’s sleep, but it was a bit annoying as stopped the room being pitch black.

It was lovely and quiet. The apartment was spotless. Beds were very comfortable. It had everything that you could possibly need. Microwave & hob plenty of cutlery and dinnerware, mugs, wine & champagne glasses Shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and hand cream. Tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, crisps and water in the fridge. The towels were super fluffy and a special mention to housekeeping Evelyn who provided extra towels for us. Scott's restaurant was just upstairs and provided breakfast lunch and dinner if you didn't want to cook.

Nothing!!

The apartments are either fairly new or very well looked after. We found no faults at all with the accommodation (not that we were looking for any). We stayed on a self-catering basis. The kitchen equipment was minimal but enough for our needs. as we ate out/take away mostly. The view over the busy marina was great and the private garden (no public access) provided a nice spot to unwind with a glass of wine. Parking within the marina enclosure was free, but the car park was busy with boaters all day and particularly from lunchtime when the restaurant opened. However, it is fair to say we had no real issue in September, but in the high season, it could be a problem.

The restaurant above our apartment was very busy from lunchtime through to 10pm (ish). Generally, this caused us no bother. However, on a number of occasions some of the customers were quite noisy when they were leaving via the staircase next to our apartment. Also, the sound of customer chairs being dragged across the floor was irritating particularly, when tidying up after closing time. The restaurant menu was surprisingly short on fresh fish choice bearing in mind the location. What was on there, was shall we say, ambitiously priced. We found the small fish and chip cabin at the end of the harbour road had a daily catch menu (excellent) and was very busy with locals. I have never had battered fresh sea bass or battered fresh salmon and chips before...........

We liked the apartment. It provided all we required. A Sea view was left to our imagination, but the marina was interesting. Most of our view was taken up with yachts being serviced and logs being delivered and collected in the timber business further over.

Toilet had not been cleaned. Considering Covid is still around a toilet needs to be spotless. Apart from this bad omission everything else, apart from the balcony, was spotless. Hannah in reception was helpful in every way. Thanks Hannah.

Very friendly and welcoming place from time I arrived and throughout the stay. We had a ground floor room with marina views and a nice little private sitting area. The room looked great and was very comfortable. This is a pet friendly location that had a bag of dog biscuits in the room. We are not travelling with pets and other than the dog biscuits in the room you couldn't tell there was ever any animals in the room. We ate at dinner at their restaurant Scott's, had an actually fantastic meal there. The included breakfast was also very good too. If I was staying in the area, Scott's is definitely a place I would go to eat.

The only think I could point out is that you are in a marina with a lot of work going on at times. The only reason I am putting this here, is that all I couldn't think of anything else. At no point this this ever disrupt our enjoyment staying at the Salt Lodge

The property was perfect, so well equipped, beautifully decorated, fresh and spotless. It was home from home with a chill factor in the most amazing wee spot in front of the Marina at Troon. We will definitely return.

Nothing, loved everything about it. Faultless. From our greeting at reception, the overall chill factor feel when we stepped in the door. It was a perfect overnight location, ideally situated under Scotts restaurant with the best food and dining experience on your doorstep.

The rooms are to a high standard and good for a short break. Location is quiet and only a short walk to the beech and amenities. The daytime staff were friendly and helpful with things like local restaurants that were child and dog friendly. There was a dog shower located outside our room. Nice walks and views nearby.

The room was on the small size for a family of 4 and a small dog, we had to fold away the sofa bed throughout the day to give enough space to be comfortable moving around. The night staff were not the most knowledgeable about the local area. It wasn't very clear in the booking that only 2 guests per room have breakfast included. We waited over 40 minutes for breakfast to be served in Scotts on the Sunday morning.
