La Cuesta Inn

Clean and comfortable rooms that could fit a family of 4. Nice breakfast options were a great way to start the day. Ample parking available onsite and a short drive into the heart of San Luis Obispo.

This was actually a really nice place to stay. The pool was brilliant, breakfast was ok, beds were comfy and bathroom was decent. Very good value for money. Would have liked to explore SLO a little more, which was slightly harder given the location.

Quite far from downtown, next to 101 so could be noisy. We stayed when there was some sort of classic car convention and they all left with their enormous exhausts revving at 6am so that was a bad night's sleep, but not hotel's fault. Plumbing from other rooms at 6am was noisy. We were right by the lift on the ground floor and it dinged every time it arrived at the floor.

The room was spacious, it was very cleaned and even though we stayed for 2 nights, they made the bed after the first night, which is something that I missed after the pandemic. The staff was very nice and they made the check-in and check-out process very fast so we didn't have to waste time in all the paperwork. The location is also walkable distance to downtown and there are many restaurants around in case you don't want to walk so much.

Nothing, I don't have any complains about it. It was more than I was expecting for the price of other hotels in the area.

Positioned at the top of Monterey Street adjacent to US101 this hotel was quiet and comfortable with no traffic noise at all, even though our room was on the back facing US101. The room itself included a small balcony, was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the shower room more than adequate in size and facilities provided. Parking was also available and easy. There are a limited number of restaurants nearby, but, with only a 15 - 20 minute walk into the historic downtown area there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was continental in the main with pancakes and toast providing the only hot options.

The location is convenient, close to highway, and a chevron next to it, if you are on road trip it would be quite easy to stop here and have a good rest. I thought for this price, i would get some motel like experience, but this place is quite a 'inn', anything you would expect for these branded hotels you can find it here. Each room has a balcony with a table and 2 chairs, a super large restroom, though I never used that balcony as it is cold recent days, but kinda nice to have it for the sunny days. Front desk staff was very kind. Definitely very worthy for the price to stay here.

The hotel was centrally located near the Cal Poly SLO campus which was so convenient. The room was clean with plenty of space for our party of 3. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had double sinks, which was an extra bonus.

The water pressure in the shower could use some improvement, it was too weak. The breakfast was adequate but more like a continental breakfast with toast or bagels, yogurt, cereal and coffee. It would have been great to get more protein.

The front desk team was friendly, however there were a few times when no one was there but they left a sign stating they'd be right back. Breakfast was good. There was a heat wave at the time and water bottles were available for the better part of the day in the lobby. Nice to grab one on your way out. Parking was plentiful and no charge. It's located right off 101, so you might hear some traffic noise but nothing that will keep you awake at night. SLO is a quiet town.

The USB ports in the portable charger didn't work. No USB ports in the lamps, and the clock is a dated iPod docking station that requires a 30-pin connector (wide). We had to plug into the TV to charge our phones. There is no hotel shuttle or taxi in SLO. You have to use Uber or Lyft. We had to catch the 6:11 am train and luckily there was 1 Uber driver available. So plan accordingly if you need to be anywhere early. We thought we might have to walk the 1.4 miles to the train station! About the room, the a/c was a bit noisy and the beds were pretty soft and felt a little worn out. The room was pricey for what it is, but it was comparable to same class hotels in town so I guess that's the market rate.

Love the location of this hotel, close to Cap Poly, hiking trails, and walkable to downtown restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable, with double sinks in the bathroom a nice bonus. Breakfast was tasty and the cookies in the afternoon are a nice way to end the day. We'll definitely be back.

Our room was a little small, such that there was a side table on only one side of the bed. That was manageable, just a little inconvenient.

It was a great little hotel conveniently located right off the freeway. Our room was clean, neat, and updated. Beautiful quartz or Silestone bathroom countertop, brand new Moen faucets, and nice room decor. We appreciated breakfast which offered bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit cups, juices, coffee, granola bars, fruit, and pancakes. The pool was heated and there's also a jacuzzi. The staff are friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay again.

The only thing is there could be more TV channel options.

Very spacious room, nice shower, everything clean and modern. Location is also great, close to the vibrant city with al the bars and restaurants. Beds are also really comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is ok, nothing special.

I booked a room with balcony since the pictures showed a nice view of the mountains from the balcony. However, those rooms with balcony with view are located at the front side of the property. We got one at the back, that was not worth the extra money.. make sure you request one upfront if you want the view.
