La Quinta by Wyndham San Luis Obispo

The room is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect. The breakfast was amazing. Love the balcony. The price was acceptable. The shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower liquid soap dispensers were a bonus!

The shower head was so high up, that by the time the water came down it was a dribble and I wasn’t able to adjust the shower head at all. It took forever to wash the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. If your a light sleeper like me, the noise level is high, with the restaurant below. Not so much from the people eating there, but from the trucks delivering early in the morning and their back up beep, beep, beep over and over, maneuvering to get out. Then the garbage truck early in the morning dumping the drop box. Very loud. The breakfast goes from 6-9:30 am. So you hear one after another, starting at 6 am, people leaving their rooms and doors slamming. Cluclunck, cluclunck, cluclunck, over and over. I just wanted a relaxing vacation, where I could at least sleep in just a little.

his hotel was exceptional. From staff, to the room, to the amenities the hotel exceed any expectations I had. As I mentioned in my first review, this is the 2nd of two reservations I had made. Booking.com did not have the same room available for two consecutive nights. When I arrived the manager on duty (shout out to Kim!) took it upon herself to attempt to square this all out and try to make it so we wouldn't have to change rooms. By the next morning, the front desk called to let me know we could remain in the same room for the entire stay! This alleviated the need to pack up everything, move it out of the room, and then interrupt our afternoon to return to the hotel to "check in" again. By accommodating us in this way, it allowed for us to take full advantage of our time in SLO and the surrounding area. It was a very kind and amazing gesture. I highly recommend this hotel for the ease, comfort, and wonderfully welcoming staff.

All was great. Our room had a little private deck with chez lounge. The door to that deck was difficult to lock once we were outside and came back in. But it wasn't a big issue and is something easily fixed. All else was wonderful

I had two separate bookings and the manager on duty (shout out to Kim!), was able to arrange for us to remain in the same room for the entire stay (vs having to change rooms mid-stream: e.g. pack up and move luggage and "stuff" out of room #1 in the a.m. and then "check in" to room #2 in the afternoon). This accommodation was amazing and allowed for us to take full advantage of our time in SLO and the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hotel for the ease, comfort, and wonderfully welcoming staff.

The location was fine. The staff was fabulous. The hotel was about a mile from the downtown areas, where most restaurants, shops and the farmers market on Thursday are located. We walked to the Farmer's Market and back to the hotel in the evening and felt safe doing so. The hotel is very convenient to visiting Cal Poly SLO which is why we were in town.

The room was quite small. The room's window was placed very high on the wall, making the room feel even smaller. The breakfast was ok, considering the location in SLO I expected a little more.

Just under a mile to downtown, so walkable, although slight uphill on the way back. Property looks new and well maintained. Rooftop pool and gym, although small, were welcome additions. Generally very quiet.

Minor noise (footsteps) from room upstairs and occasional noise from doors in the hallway. Having to pay for parking was a surprise (although they waived it in the end). Breakfast had a good selection although the scrambled eggs were very hard and the pastries disappointing/stale. Next door to decent restaurant. Weird bathroom lighting that turns on automatically when you enter - not possible to turn off this feature.

It was very very nice to have a hot breakfast included and saved me time so I could go out ready to enjoy my day. Also, they are pet friendly and treated my little dog extra nice. They also told me that if I needed to leave the dog in the room while getting food etc. it was ok. They did not want dogs in the car. I thought this was great because most places don't allow you to leave your dog unattended in the room.

I can not think of anything else that would have made my stay better.

Excellent breakfast options, everything you can think of and more: pancakes, waffles, hot oatmeal porridge, cereals, bread, good coffee, juices, eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, pastries and much more. Excellent free Wi-Fi. Very comfortable beds, quiet heating, contemporary furniture, amazing window mountain view. Next to the nice restaurant.

Addition of an unsweetened yogurt with live yogurt culture to the breakfast menu would make each morning even better than at home.

I couldn't wait to write this review! OMG- greeted by warm staff- all of them -everyone I met from the front desk to the Senoritas who service the room- so nice!! CLEAN! This place is so clean, bright, airy, and located across the street from one of the BEST restaurants I've been to- called 1865 - I went to the well equipped gym, yoga mats are available as well as towels and a water station! Coffee is available 24 hours! Breakfast is delicious with a selection of fruit, oatmeal, eggs, sausages, bagels, bread, pastries, waffles, and a pancake machine! The breakfast staff was really nice and accommodated the late stragglers who wanted last minute items. Self service laundry is on each floor. Beautiful rooftop pool and jacuzzi. 2 Computers in the lobby. Next time I come to SLO, this will be my place to stay! My room had a nice balcony that I left open for fresh air. Beds were so comfy...I wanted to see what kind of mattress they use--and made so nice with some fluffy coverings and duvet covers. Also a microwave and fridge in the room- Love this hotel! I love that the room smells genuinely and naturally clean----not sprayed with chemicals like Febreeze or other artificial smells. Almost forgot - LOVE their Paul Mitchell products- Definitely recommend this 5 star hotel with 5 star staff and 5 star skin/hair care products and 5 star facilities!

Nothing. I really enjoyed my stay and my daughter was so happy with the gym. Everyone in my party was thrilled with the facilities and the breakfast!

The continental breakfast had all the basics and the eating area was nicely furnished. The entire hotel feels new and clean, and all of the fixtures and rooms are in good condition. The staff were very friendly and parking at this location is very easy. It was co-located with the 1865 Craft House which was very convenient. Rooftop pool and hot tub were clean and accessible, if only a little small.

Price felt a little expensive for the area and what the room was.

This hotel ticked a lot of boxes and we enjoyed our stay here. It was a great place to stay and I would stay here again if I was in the area. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful and check in was simple and uncomplicated. Good facilities, such as laundry room on each floor, a gym and water fountain located on the second floor and breakfast room and small roof top pool.

Nothing Possibly some initial advice on the location [and what is great about it] would have been helpful. We only realised how cool the town was the next day when we were leaving and in hindsight it would have been nice to have explored it more in the evening of our stay.
