Villa Motel

All I needed was an inexpensive hotel room as a base of operations for exploring the SLO area (bed, hot shower, fridge for my breakfast shakes). I got that and more. The shower was new and had plenty of water pressure. The bathroom was as clean as any I've seen in a hotel--and the window opened (better than a fan, if you know what I mean). The room was spacious (although it had only one bed--two beds might make a room feel less spacious). The back and front windows both opened, so I got some great cross breezes at night (no need to run the AC, even though it was available). The innkeeper was friendly and hospitable. I could walk downtown within 15 minutes (=free parking!), and I could drive to Morro Bay or Montaña de Oro State Park within about 20 minutes. Yes, the motel is older (linoleum in the bathroom), and they don't serve breakfast. But the money I saved would have bought me a restaurant breakfast with dollars to spare, and does it really matter whether the bathroom is tiled or has linoleum? Not to me. This is just what I needed. And the price was great.

The motel sits on a street that gets a fair amount of foot, bicycle, and car traffic, so leaving the window open at night may prove a bit too noisy for some people. The pillows are acceptable, but not the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel.

You pay a daily housekeeping fee but you don’t get daily service without asking. Not enough staff.

Nicely painted, clean, nice room, comfortable bed, lots of windows, good A/C, nice bathroom with hand-shower and plenty of hot water, great value and handy to freeway, food, gas station, and Cal Poly. Veteran’s Memorial made a nice grassy walking area behind the motel.

One of the bedside lamps didn’t turn off so I had to unplug it. Even though there was only one other room occupied when I arrived, we were put right next to each other and the man stayed on his phone out there for hours. As a woman staying solo it made me uncomfortable.

Location was perfect near everything, staff was amazing.

This is an old-fashioned basic hotel. It provided everything I needed, it was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is an interesting neighborhood nearby with restaurants and shops.

My trip was a stressful one, and I would have liked a little more ease and pampering. There is no pool, so a tub for soaking in, or a recliner to put my feet up would have been welcome. No restaurant on site, and the nice neighborhood is downhill, which meant uphill to get back. The building is old, and it shows the scars. But it isn't right to criticize the motel for not being what it is not. It is a good value for a basic service in a good location.

The lady who runs the place is an absolute sweetheart (as is her big dog). The 101 in both directions is on/off easily accessible. there are many restaurants, bars and mini marts within walking distance. It is an older hotel, but well kept up (everything in room worked) and charming.

Nothing, it fit the bill perfectly.

Very clean room. Strong shower, enough electrical outlets, cold refrigerator, large enough TV, AC worked well. Nice table and two comfortable chairs.

No phone in the room, minimal toiletries, bed too soft for me, no skirt/pants hangers, light goes on automatically when you walk into the bathroom.

The lady at the front desk was very kind helpful and did a great job there was a problem with my reservation and she helped me fix it and had my receipt done before I checked out very kind

30 a night for pet too steep have a trained small dog and doesn’t make a mess would prefer a security deposit and room evaluation at ck out instead of a fee for everyone

We rented 3 rooms for a family get-together, the So. Californians with the Central CA's. We found the exterior to be very inviting, as they had recently painted it. The interior was also nicely maintained and we liked the open-beam ceilings, instead of the normal flat ones. The lady at the desk was very helpful and accommodating. the room had a refrig, micro , coffee-maker, and of course a TV, all of which worked well. Overall, we had an excellant stay at the Villa, and will return next year. Sam

Everything was fine.

Clean and simple motel , with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker . Very close to Cal Poly , and walking distance to restaurants. The lady at the office was super friendly and helpful. Will stay again .
