The Alfond Inn

Breakfast was very good, the location is perfect in the heart of Winter Park and the room is excellent quality. Very spacious, with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. Loved the pool and gym. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great live music at the bar, though for the rates they charge the I was surprised not to be able to get a kir royale or a pastis (Pernod or Ricard) at the bar. I would expect there to be a greater selection of international cocktails and spirits at this kind of establishment.

Everyone was so friendly, and smiling all the time. The food was excellent, the accommodations also excellent. I love the way they decorated the lobby with some great art. Here’s the best part. The hotel is a non-profit. All the profits go to scholarships to Rollins College students, a small, local, liberal arts college. It felt good to be part of that process, knowing that my expenses at the hotel (which can compete with any others) goes to students trying to jump start their careers rather than give the money to some corporation.

It was all good.

The gorgeous Alfond Inn is located close to the historic and and charming Park Avenue. The hotel is dog friendly and features lovely grounds for strolling, dining, cocktails, or walking dogs. There are exquisite and unique art installations throughout the hotel. The atrium is positively gorgeous - featuring a grand piano and prismatic art globes that cast brilliant colors throughout. There is a very good restaurant and bar within the hotel and room service is also an option. Meeting and confers rooms are also available. The valet staff is remarkable; the service and professionalism is top notch. The entire hotel staff is gracious and efficient. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase in the lobby. There is also an ATM if needed.

While the hotel is dog friendly, I do wish there were dog waste stations somewhere on the grounds. There aren’t any outdoor trash cans for disposal and I don’t want to bring the dog waste bag inside for disposal. When walking downtown this isn’t an issue, but for late night or early morning quick outings with a pet, it is a conundrum.

We had an exceptional stay at the Alfond. We traveled with our daughters lacrosse team & families. We all decided to stay at the Alfond because of the location and access to activities (shopping, ice cream etc.) for the kids to do in our down time. We also traveled with our dogs which made us and them SOOOOO happy... We had them with us most of the day ad did not leave them unattended in the room - we will definitely stay there again..

It rained during our stay so kids could not swim - BUT wont hold the Alfond responsible LOL

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool area was beautiful. We liked being able to walk to Park Avenue restaurants and shops. The room was nice and quiet. There were robes and an umbrella for our use, which were thoughtful touches.

I found the price of the hotel rather high, and the bed was a little too soft for my back. Emails from staff could be more timely and professional: I never heard back about my request to check in an hour early, and another message was just a simple sentence, like, "Our pool is open during renovation." It was missing politer things like "thank you for your message...best regards" which just take a second to write and present a more caring image. Everything else was nice.

Perfect location and very friendly and helpful staff. The art on the walls is beautiful. Hamilton’s has a great brunch.

While the housekeeping kept the rooms clean, the windows were really dirty (maybe due to construction dust). All 3 elevators broke ), but we had to wait at 11:15 pm until a service elevator was fixed so we could get to our room. my elderly mother in law can’t take stairs.

Location was great. The lobby and grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The staff was very accommodating. I liked the shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom and the fact that they weren't small containers creating more waste in our landfills...

Our room was ok. There really wasn't anything special about it. The bathroom was way outdated and blah... The bed was super comfortable with nice sheets and pillows... Too much money for an ok room. Big disappointment after the rest of the hotel being so stunning...

Amazing location. Beautiful courtyard and pool area. Hotel looks stunning. Very clean. Friendly staff. Best hotel in the area.

At a hotel of this caliber I would expect free waters in the rooms. The bar closed early on a Sunday. We ordered food and had to pick it up, they would not bring it up to the room. At the hight of COVID a huge event was hosted in the lobby with none of the attendees wearing masks. So, there are no COVID safeguards in place. Some valets did not wear masks when fetching the car. That should be required.

The Alfond is in a great location. We walked everywhere we needed to go in Winter Park and there were tons of great options for food. We got to go to a Bach Festival Society concert while we were there and it was only a few blocks away.

We were in a disability room and the shower flooded the bathroom whenever we used it. I understand that the idea is that someone in a wheelchair could roll into the bathroom but without any type of barrier the water just flowed out onto the bathroom floor.

Very nice facility and pool area. The location was great to walk to restaurants and bars in Winter Park’s Park Ave area. The staff was excellent and went above and beyond.

The room was clean and spacious with nice amenities but could use an updating, which appears to be in the works.
