Hampton Inn Ann Arbor - North

Nice stay at this Hampton Inn. Staff was friendly and my 4th floor room was very clean and very quiet, which is what I cared most about. It's not swanky (friends were at the Doubletree across the road, which is more recently updated) and the carpet has seen better days, but I really appreciated the free coffee and tea in the lobby--it was nice to come back at the end of the day and have decaf and herbal teas to choose from. Breakfast was good, the scrambled eggs were actually edible and the coffee was very good. This was convenient to my family in north Ann Arbor and close to a really nice market (Plum Market) if you need a snack or bottle of wine. The bus to downtown leaves from right next to the hotel and was a pleasant ride for just $1.50!

On two occasions, my card key didn't work and I had to return to the lobby to have them update it. Note to other travelers, there's no bar or restaurant. This didn't matter to me. One evening, a few people gathered in the "lobby" (which is really the breakfast room), which would be the option.

I booked this room using booking.com app and when I arrived at the hotel they told me that my card was declined. the number of the card they had on file for me was not the card used, I don’t even own a card with the digits she gave me. the desk person was very nice but it was a huge inconvenience to have to deal with this. I had email confirmation that I had paid for the room but she was wanting me to pay again. I refused to double pay and offered to forward my confirmation email to her and she declined saying I would be contacted if there was any issue. this caused me additional stress worrying that I would be given a problem with the payment.

Very good variety of food to choose from....very good. The lady working the breakfast room did a very good job....she never stopped and made sure it was well supplied. It was clean and well kept. We were pleased.

You did not seem to have a snack machine near the rooms. We were tired when we arrived and did not feel like going out to eat and dealing with traffic, but would have liked having a snack or at least maybe a basket at the desk where we could have paid for apples or bananas at the front desk.

Breakfast was satisfactory. Location was good. Very nice manager. I liked the long mirror. I was comped two nights because of unruly boys from sports team who were disturbing my daughter’s service dog.

Bathroom was steamy after shower, exhaust fan was ineffective. No good area to apply makeup. Needed more towel bars in bathroom. Desk chair appeared to be in permanent reclining position with Cheerios stuck in between seat and back.

we were here because of an early Dr. Appointment the next day. The part of the facilities we used very very good, comfortable, reasonable and everything worked.

Since I went through Booking.com- I was taken back by the $75.00 pet fee (Booking didn’t reveal that). As long as we will be traveling with our last pet- we probably won’t be staying in a Hampton Inn again. Especially when Holiday Inn Express let’s dogs stay for free.

The Desk Staff at check in was great - she was doing the best job she could considering the recent electrical outage causing the hotel to be sold out Great location - close to food, too!

I spoke with Truman in advance requesting our 3 rooms to be next to each other as my father is 85. Instead he put us on 3 different floors...and due to the deluge of locals, nothing could be done. I had thought I had selected at least one room 2 queen beds to learn that couldn't be accommodated either. I learned all of this after waiting extensively (while understandable, didn't help my opinion as no one came to give the swamped desk staff help)

Had a good full breakfast with a good brew of coffee in contrast to many other locations that I have recently stayed. Decent location for my activities on this trip. Local amenities, restraunts and shopping, were available within walking distance.

Typical college town (Ann Arbor). Too many entitled liberals or progressives in the area. No longer my cup of tea.

The location was great. The breakfast was better than expected. Nice and quiet.

My room wasn’t cleaned according to the plan we made when I checked in, and the receptionist was rude when I requested that they’d clean the room the day after.

The staff was extremely friendly, the hotel is very clean and the location is nearby a shopping center with many restaurants. We felt like at home during our stay.

Our room was very clean and the staff was super friendly. The beds were comfortable, the shower was spotless. Due to covid breakfast was all prepackaged items, but their selection included a variety of microwaveable breakfast sandwiches- and while most places offered muffins and cereal, having a hot option was nice.

The pool was clean, though a smidge on the chilly side. My kids still loved it. I think that might be the only thing we found that wasn't ideal- which says a lot. This was a good place to stay.
