Candlewood Suites - Brighton, an IHG Hotel

I have stayed at several hotels in this area and Candlewood is by far my favorite. The staff was friendly and personable, everything is modern and clean, love the pool and the fact that there is a shower and a bathroom in the pool area. I did my laundry for no cost and the breakfast was great!

The only thing I can think if to make it better is if there was a jacuzzi in the pool area.

The staff were friendly, professional, helpful, and attentive. We had a few requests (fresh towels, vacuuming, equipment rental) that were dealt with promptly. The room, bathroom, halls, pool, and common areas were clean and tidy.

The bed was a little soft for my preference, whether from design or usage. It was difficult to get comfortable since i kept sinking into the mattress. The kitchen was clean but not equipped for more than one meal's use: literally one teaspoon, one tablespoon, one small fork, one dinner fork, 2 bowls, 2 plates...you get the idea.

We loved having a kitchen. The pool was wonderful. The location was excellent with great food and shopping nearby. We were delighted to have free laundry! After we left our room and were 2.5 hours down the road, I discovered that I didn't have my wallet. Panic! I called the customer service number and he called the hotel and someone çhecked the room, but my wallet was not there. I was positive that I had left it there and now I had no money, no credit cards, no vaccination proof, no ID. I was beyond solace. About an hour later I received a call from one of the general managers, an absolutely marvelous woman, that my wallet had been found.by another GM! He strips down all the rooms which have been vacated and found my wallet! Hallelujah! The wonderful woman explained to me that when this happens a strict procedure is followed. With two managers and other top staff attending, the contents of my wallet were searched. All my cash, credit cards, insurance information and ID documents were there. I finally stopped crying. This was a true miracle. Praises to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit! Praise to all the hotel staff! Praise to my daughter who was there caring for my youngest son who has Stage 3 cancer. He is really struggling with the hideous side effects of chemotherapy. We had not seen him since May when he was diagnosed and the tumor was removed. My daughter lives in Canada and both of my sons are in Michigan. I live in Missouri and was so happy to see all three of my children together again. My eldest son picks up the slack when my daughter is not able to be there.

We were there for seven nights. Our room was never cleaned. We had to go get fresh towels, soap, toilet paper, etc.

We stayed for 7 nights and had traveled over 20 hours, it was nice to have comfortable beds, and sort of like a mini apartment. The washer and driver was a blessing to be able to wash clothes, it was easy to use and staff were helpful. It made being away from home for that long a good experience.

The only thing that I was a little frustrated with was after a few days we received a notice that we were getting a full cleaning the next day. Great, the room needed it a bit, when we returned from a long day, the only thing that was refreshed were the beds and trash cans. There were no new towels and the kitchen area had needed sweeping, which I would have done, but I didn't have the tools to do so. If it was a full cleaning, I would have liked a true cleaning, not just the sheets changed on the bed.

This hotel is awesome. We just stayed for the night, but there is a kitchenette with stove, pans, utensils, dishwasher, etc. We had the room with one queen bed so there was room for a recliner in the room as well. What I thought was really cool is that there is a loaner locker (I think that's what they call it) near the office. You can check out a blender, toaster oven, waffle maker, umbrella, games, etc.). According to the front desk you can check out what you need, keep it as long as you want, then check it back in when you are done. We had a great stay there. ...and the wife loved that there were both firm and soft pillows on the bed to pick from.

We loved how clean and beautiful the place is. The staff were great! I loved the expresso available 24/7, was really good! We loved the "snack and beverage" nook as we called it. Tons of great snacks and even food available. It really is a nice place with tons of amenities available if you're staying more than 1 or even 2 nights or longer. And the bed was so comfortable! Loved the larger soaps in the bathroom, bonus they were Dove!! Definitely staying again!

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Correction: I didn’t request nor ask about having a quiet room. Did I click that option online??? I appreciated tea bags and sweetener options in my room, big boxes of tissues, and several wastebaskets. I was going to need the deep baskets and tissues!

It was hard to find the ice machine on my floor. Perhaps you could include that on the card that came with my key. I used a pot for ice - what about a 2-handled ice bucket that could slide easily under the ice dispenser?

We’ve stayed there several times in the past 18 mos, and the staff is very friendly and helpful..

Though we’ve never had problems with the beds - they’re very comfortable. The room we stayed in this time (326) has a very uncomfortable bed on one side …. it sunk down. We didn’t want to go through the hassle of changing rooms, so we turned the mattress around, and it was better. Also, the quality of cleaning isn’t quite as good as in the past.

The staff at the front desk was more then accommodating. She made sure the room was clean. Our reservation was somehow misplaced. She worked so hard to find it! We love the little room where we can purchase food and have free coffee all night.

Candle wood allows pets. which we REALLY appreciate! It would be fantastic! If there were a small fenced in dog run!!!!! We would love to be able to let our little guy run around a bit instead of trying to keep him in the grassy area. It’s a game of tug of war!

My room had a whole tiny kitchen with dishes and all. Super clean and smells amazing. Great location.

No bathtub and the shower is wide open so the WHOLE bathroom floor is wet after your shower. No food served at the hotel. No complimentary coffee.
