It was a very nice place in a lovely 'countryside' area, located just 30mins from South Lake Tahoe. Very friendly staff, room was very nice and clean, with comfortable large bed. Plenty of restaurants around, though still gave us a proper 'village vibe'. This place was on located on the main road of the Gardnerville town, but we didn't hear anything from the streets at night. We visited the Lake Tahoe after spending a night in Gardnerville, it was very easily reachable, price-value of this place was really great. We appreciated the large mirror in the room, where we both fit in the morning and plenty of space in the room.

The air-conditioning was very loud, and so when we turned it on at night, we didn't have the easiest sleep. :(

Helpful and attentive staff, central location with lots of dining nearby, comfy beds/pillows, and the morning coffee, cocoa, and donuts were a bonus. They made good coffee too, perk ya right up!

The only negative we encountered was that the floors could have been a bit cleaner. but thats really it. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a gap under the door in the accessible room. We asked for a couple of old towels, one for covering the gap and one for our wet feet (snow) so we didn't mess up the nice bath towels. They left a note in the room asking people to be mindful and request old towels for things beyond drying off a clean body; coming from a hotel background, we were happy to oblige.

Next to restaurants, site-seeing, park, casino, bars. Easy to locate as directly on the Highway. Lighted Parking in rear. Super nice and informative staff. Good donuts and coffee for breakfast. A/C worked fine. Room was average.

We booked and it said “Mountain View”. It had a nice view of a mountain, but it was too noisy. Bar nearby played until 10:15pm. We here exhausted but couldn’t sleep well as we fronted/directly above, highway traffic with trucks and cars all during the night.

room was nicely renovated and clean, the owners and management clearly are putting time into the property and it shows. good location for exploring Lake Tahoe area but also places further East with just about everywhere less than 1 hour away. the management/front desk team was super kind and the property owner should be proud to have an awesome team looking out for their guests. would come back in a heartbeat if I’m back in the area again.

continental breakfast was a bit on the lighter side but still a nice touch to have (hard boiled eggs, mini muffins, cereal, etc.). there is a bakery next door if that doesn’t fit your fancy.

Stayed a night at Historian inn for a night on my way to Lassen Volcanic NP,located in the heart of a little town and surrounded by a lot of businesses restaurants litterally by walking distance. Room that I stayed was very cozy and clean,it had a mountain view and facing Hwy 395 and high traffic but noise didn't bother me at all. Gentilmen in the front desk was extremely helpful and polite. Hotel had a light complimentary breakfast.

They have a policy of not smoking anywhere in their property including in their parking lot and had to walk out outside to sidewalk to smoke, being a smoke free property is a good thing but they could've made it a little easier for the guests that are smoke.

Staff was super friendly We loved how pet friendly they were and it was also a little of a detractors. The floors have laminate throughout- great for our pet and also noisy upstairs when people walked or paced back and forth. These days with the ability to stay with a pet I can overlook this as it generally didn't last very long each night

The noisy floors mentioned above

The room was large with a comfortable chair as well as a table and another chair. There were plenty of plug-ins. The shower was delightfully warm with an even spray. The people at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was light and varied. The wooden vanity in the bathroom was attractive. It was a central location for many interesting sites.

The four pillows per bed were very thick and not that comfortable. The refrigerator worked and kept things cold but it wiggled. The freezer didn't freeze a 1/2 bottle of water left in there overnight. The $100 cleaning fee charged to our credit card until they could verify we had left all things in order after our departure.

Big and clean room. Complimentary donuts and coffee on the lobby. Friendly staff. We recommend it.

They used too much cleaning chemicals that the room was really filled with Strong odor. After airing it out for an hour smell gone. Room was loud because it was looking at the road but we are heavy sleepers so it did not affect us a lot but it needs to be noted.

Super friendly and helpful manager. Gave us directions and recommendations. Very nice parlor in the lobby with tables and chairs and couches where you could hang out. Great coffee and fresh donuts in the mornings. Room was large, had coffee maker and mini-fridge. Tables and chairs out front so you could sit outside. Dog friendly, quite a few guests had dogs.

Excellent value for money. Very cozy and super friendly staff. Great coffee and donuts in the morning. Room had lovely views of the mountains from right in downtown Gardnerville.

The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but regardless we felt the Inn was definitely a place we'd revisit. Great value stay!
