Holiday Inn Club Vacations - David Walley's Resort, an IHG Hotel

Location, access to hot springs, restaurant on site

Before booking this place the staff told us over phone that the sauna and the pool is included into the price of our room but access to the hot spring is for additional fee. This info was confirmed several times, however, upon arrival we were informed that the pool is seasonal, thus is closed, and the sauna is available with an additional day pass through the hot springs. This was disappointing because we counted on the use of the pool and the sauna, without paying extra.

The room was very comfortable and clean, with BEAUTIFUL views. The location is stunning, while nicely tucked away in a more rural area. I loved that the room had a patio where I could drink my coffee in the mornings. The staff were very nice and helpful.

There was only one washcloth in our room, despite two people staying there. TINY bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and the coffee in the room wasn't refilled daily. There is a store on the property but the prices aren't cheap so it would be nice to have a better stocked room.

Overall our experience was great, we visited for our anniversary and the resort exceeded our expectation. At the guest check in, you have an amazing employee by the name of Peggy Sue and she is awesome, ensuring that our trip was an experience to remember! Down at the hot springs there is an employee named Karen, whom is also awesome and was very sincere. Peggy and Karen definitely made our trip memorable, by prioritizing guest satisfaction. Overall our experience at David Walley's was excellent and we were accommodated to our needs - and beyond! Thanks for the experience, can't wait till next time.....Sincerely Stevens Fam!

Staff was so helpful on site restaurant very good and the location of the resort is great. I didn’t have time to use all of the resorts other amenities, but offers some great relaxing things.

Maybe a coffee shop or early morning coffee bar with fruit just for us early risers so as not to disturb others staying with us. But really it was just a great place.

Beds were comfortable and nice veiw

We had no hot water, the water.. The shower above ours wasr leaking while we tried to shower. Someone didn't clean the room. They didn't tell us we had to pay for the hotspring separately! We paid over 300 for our room and they wanted another $50 per person!? Very let down. Should be able to shower with hot water for the price

All the Staff we encountered were very friendly. The room was comfortable.

The rooms were not well insulated. You could clearly hear everything going on in the next room. Very annoying. A bit disappointed that the restaurant did not serve breakfast. Being so isolated it was a drive to get something in the mornings.

We arrived at the end of a power shut-off so the staff was a bit stressed. They still handled everything in a friendly and professional manner. The facilities are really nice with a small creak and grassy areas and a small pool area with picnic/barbecue set-up.

The room we had was very small and the balcony was right above the drop-off area with many cars coming through so we really couldn't use the balcony. We had some trouble finding an open parking spot when we arrived back at the hotel at night after visiting other locations in Tahoe.

Everything! The room was spacious and comfortable. The beds were great. We loved the convenience of a full kitchen. Having two bedrooms and two bathrooms definitely made the difference for all of us being that much more comfortable. We even did a little laundry (which we will keep in mind next time we visit as I will be packing much less). But the topper was the view of the marsh and the mountains! It was wonderful to look out thr window and see and hear nature at her finest. We will never stay anywhere else again when visiting the Carson Valley as we are now so spoiled!

The only issue we had was getting a ring on the doorbell after 10pm (my son, thankfully, did not wake up) due a leak issue coming in downstairs. We had to follow up the next day because the front desk didn't have any updates despite saying they would call us once they spoke with the maintenance manager. We also asked for a plunger for one of the bathrooms in the morning but had to leave due to the time it was taking. Come to find out later that night that a work order was never put in, but maintenance did come upstairs within 30 minutes of the call that night. While snafus like this can happen at any hotel, it was the lack of follow through from the front desk in both cases that was the issue.

Quiet get away spot. Beautiful mountain views nearby. Rooms were clean and there is a mini kitchen in the room for cooking and a fridge for food.

Kitchen isn't open everyday, so you may have to go into town to eat and there are few options as Genoa is a very small community.

Love the location

Not happy with many of the changes by Holiday Inn. It's lost its unique charm and feels like a boring run of the mill hotel now instead of a warm and inviting, unique stay.
