EVEN Hotel Brooklyn, an IHG Hotel

I was in Brooklyn for one night to see a show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and it was the perfect stay. It's become quite a happening part of town. Walking distance to BAM and all sorts of eateries and coffee shops and lots of public transport options around the corner. The room is small (it's NY!) but comfortable and well designed. The shower's a bit odd - it's a hand held which normally I like but the holder should be adjustable and not just shoot straight out. All the sporting equipment is kind of cool and thoughtful - I would have used if staying longer. I couldn't figure out the purpose of the red light and I couldn't turn it off but who knows - maybe it helped me sleep better. The staff was kind and helpful. Can't beat the rate. Would stay again.

The staff was very nice and attentive, housekeeping was amazing , the staff at the Cafe was very pleasant. This location is super great and I will make this my "Go-to" hotel whenever I'm in town.

The wifi access was down so I couldn't do much work at all for my business. One of the elevators was out of order. Only one worked so we had to take the stairs and I have foot injuries so that kinda hindered me.

Location was good. Rooms were comfortable and were serviced promptly.

There was a problem with ice and water service while we were there. We had to buy water at the restaurant if we didn’t want to drink unfiltered tap water.

There were a lot of positives : the location was excellent , the rooms were clean & comfortable, the staff was great - helpful, pleasant. Additionally We booked an accessible room and it had all that we needed. The price for the room was the best we could find in the area. The 24hour marketplace kiosk was convenient for snacks etc and the on site restaurant made delicious burgers which teen daughter & I enjoyed. The courtyard was also a nice feature , used it for some quiet time and even to participate in an online meeting.

Unfortunately for us a wheelchair wasn’t available at the time we requested, perhaps another patron was using it. That would have been great. We traveled to the area for medical treatment and so stayed at the hotel for two weeks. We would have liked a washer/dryer but understand it just may not be appropriate at this hotel.

I really loved the gym here. There were two Peloton bikes. There is a floor for cardio equipment and the lower floor for weights. I loved the concept of the hotel that caters and attracts folks who may want a gym / fitness focus. The rooms do come with a yoga mat, blocks, etc. There’s a channel specifically for workouts. The location is also pretty good. There are lots of different stores and restaurants around. Street parking is also pretty accessible if you don’t want to pay for overnight parking. You just have to move by 7 am.

There’s a reservation / utility fee daily and that was interesting. The rooms are tiny. The pictures definitely makes the room look so much bigger than they are. The full size mirror is right beside the bed so you don’t actually see your full outfit using the mirror.

It was very clean! the location was fine and walkable. The personnel were always pleasant and friendly.

the bed was shorter than a normal bed--not comfortable for my tall husband. The gym equipment in the room takes up too much space in an already very small room. The breakfast bowl was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!! It went directly in the garbage. For 12 dollars, it was disgusting--heck...for ONE dollar it would have been just as disgusting and totally inedible. Neither of us could even eat it....and we eat most anything! We ended up going across the street to the Holiday Inn's Canyon Diner where breakfast was less expensive and fresh and delicious! (Same hotel group!)

Location in Brooklyn fit for our activities. The room was quier, very clean, and comfortable. The staff was superb, they tried to help us in any thing we needed The lobby was very confortable, we could bring our own meal and have it in an excellent environment.

The products for breakfast (coffe, muffins, cakes, etc) could be better.

Love the place, great place to stay. Great location. Loved the food. Restaurant manager was truly customer oriented. I enjoyed my stay and plan to return during early summer.

Should have more Flexible hours with breakfast.. Tried to order 5 minutes late and was turned away, not by the manager who was not there that time. Need seat level chairs in rooms. A small table would be nice. I do not like sitting on a bed. The desk chair is bar level Too high for 4'10" me. I call, asked for a chair and a chair was sent. Need more care in replacing toilet tissue. Extra roll not replaced, had to call front desk at 2am for more. Front desk should simply acknowledge guest's problem and.not argue. A simple "I am sorry" goes a long way to keeping guest happy.

I like the rooms, they are comfortable but I think all of the rooms should feel like 909. The shade and the mood lamp should be in every room. I’ve stayed in a few rooms and the that was the best out of all the rooms. The photos are of room 909. I like the fact that this hotel is in a nice area and not too busy.

The fact that EVEN doesn’t have tables and chairs outside is a take back for me. Even a bench would suffice to accommodate their guests. The menu doesn’t have common everyday items that most people want to eat. The bar area is not stocked well. When staying here I go around the corner to have drinks and my food comes from stores nearby as well or doordash.

The rooms were spacious and clean. They provided workout tools - yoga mats, stools, strength training pole with exercise ropes of varying degrees - LOVED LOVED this feature. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Of course the bed and bedding was clean, smelled great and comfortable. Location, location, location - excellent. Transporation - bus, train, taxi at your doorstep, okay maybe up the block for the train, but none the less close. Able to walk around downtown Brooklyn.

That I had to pay for my stay - LOL. Everything was great.
