Hampton Inn Manhattan Grand Central

The staff was great, the breakfast was decent, the rooms were clean. The location was ok. About a 30 min walk to times Square and 5 min to Grand Central Station.

One elevator was out of order most of our stay, so you either had to wait an hour to get on or take the stairs. Wasn't too bad for us as we were on the 7th floor but would be brutal for someone higher up.

The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the hotel is well-situated, and the breakfast is laid out nicely, and has lots of options, some of which changed day-to-day. We appreciated the ice water in the lobby, and the hard-working cleaning staff. There were lots of towels in the bathroom, and a nice area to sit outside the hotel. Location is wonderful- five minutes walk to Grand Central Station, about 20-25 to Times Square and Broadway, with some restaurants along the way. We were also very appreciative of an early check-in after travelling overnight and being totally exhausted.

The rooms are diminutive but fine for three-four people, especially with not being in the hotel much. My two complaints are that the door for the bathroom is a very heavy sliding door, and not only isn't great for privacy, but would be difficult for some to close and manage. Also, though there are many choices for breakfast (waffles, bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, and proteins such as eggs and bacon or sausages), I would suggest cooking the eggs without meat, since vegetarians can choose to opt out of the bacon and sausages, but shouldn't have to also forgo the eggs because they have pork in them.

The front desk is very friendly, and the check-in speed is very fast, and they also kindly informed that there is free coffee on the first floor; 4. The room is not big, but The bed is very, very comfortable and very quiet. Although it is close to the side of the street, there is no noise, and the sleep is very comfortable; 5. The breakfast is very good, the coffee is of high quality, fried eggs and patties are also delicious, and I like it Waffles actually have a banana flavor.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to Grand Central Station and so was easy to get to from JFK. Room size was fine for a long weekend. The lifts were both working and the waiting times were fine. Breakfast was good and not too crowded. There was a nice selection of things to eat. Perhaps a non sugar cereal option would have been nice but there was porridge.

While the tea and coffee available all day was a nice touch, the uht milk cartons were too sweet.

Loved the location as it was a couple of blocks away from Grand Central Station and from several bus stops as the metro and bus were our main means of getting around. The room was a little small but then again it is New York. We ate breakfast only once at the hotel as we wanted to explore and eat out. Breakfast was good. The only complaints were hair was left in our shower from a previous guest and pillows to bed were extremely flimsy and unsupportive. p.s. It would be nice to have a mini-fridge in the rooms without having to pay extra for them.

Great location because the hotel is very near to Grand Central Station in Manhattan. Although a smallish room we had a good king sized bed and a well equipped bathroom with independent shower. On the plus side the room was very clean and serviced well every day. We were allocated a room on 19 floor which was very quiet and we couldn’t hear any traffic below. The price included breakfast which for us was only okay.

The breakfast room is small and was usually crowded so most days we took our breakfast up to our room.

We booked the Hampton reading other reviews about room size but for me and my partner this was perfect, size of room was decent for a king. The room was well maintained and maid service was in every other day. Bathroom was clean and shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast included was a massive bonus and was delicious. Different options each day, both hot food and cold like cereal. The hotel location was brilliant, a short walk to Grand Central station and 5th Ave. The front desk was manned when ever we walked past and the staff were very friendly offering a smile and hello. Highly recommend the Hampton for a stay in New York!

Good sized room compared to others I considered in New York. Comfy bed. Free breakfast all week (wasn't aware this was included). Central location. Friendly staff.

They took a damage deposit, which was never mentioned when booking. Also had some issues with payment (seems they tried to charge me twice, although thankfully my bank didn't let the second go through)

The staff were really friendly and helpful. And they even offered for an free upgrade without any charges simply registered as a member at their property managing company. And the location is close to grand central terminal which is very easy for transportation. Also there are good food places in walking distances which is very convenient as well.

I loved my stay here and I will definitely come back again. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Asia, Ree and Kaina. The room is a decent size for NY and the breakfast is good. I used the business center to work and there is also a nicely equipped fitness center. My room was cleaned every day and my packages were received with care. The area is safe and the location is perfect. I ubered up and down Manhattan for ~$20.
