Iberostar 70 Park Avenue

The size of the room was very nice! It was spacious and clean. The location was also nice. It was in a central spot that made it easy to get to and from the tourist attractions around town.

Having to pay $50 for early check-in seems like a scam. The room was ready when we got there at 1. We had a suitcase that we didn’t want to wheel around the city, so we thought that was our only option. When we checked out, they offered to hold our luggage in case we wanted to explore the city some more. I would have loved that option the day prior, but instead they charged me $50 extra for a room that was already vacant.

Right near Grand Central so ideal for links to all the places we wanted. The room was a great size. Staff very attentive. Would definitely stay here again.

I loved the room. It was perfect for my partner and I after a concert night. Everything was clean and organized. The staff were also attentive and respectful.

One of the elevators seemed unsafe to use.

My daughter and I had our flight cancelled on Monday and could not get back in a plane till Thursday. I scrambled late to find a hotel, and this one popped up. I have seen this hotel during my many searches before, so I decided to go for it. I am so glad I did! We were in such bad moods when we left the airport! My daughter had been in NYC for 3 weeks for a dance intensive, She was ready to get home! From the doorman, to the bellman & arriving with all our luggage, then the lady at the desk, bless her, there was a lot of us coming from the airport, she could not have been nicer or more accommodating!! She even gave us an upgrade b/c the room that I booked online an hour earlier was not available. It was like an oasis in the dessert! The room, bed & bathroom were all perfect and so comfortable and huge!! It is true there is not a coffee maker in the room, I read on here to ask, and they will bring you one.! They did! It was perfect! Though there are so many coffee places steps away, I wanted some while getting ready. The staff were all so nice! We will be back!

It is NYC and I get it, but the walls were thin, and doors slam easily. There was quite a gap between the floor and door on our adjoining room, so much so the light shined in, i just put a towel down to block the light and maybe some of the neighbors conversations. Though it did not bother us too much.

Excellent location, close to the subway with several cafes and restaurants nearby and just a 10 min walk to Fifth Ave. The hotel is cozy, and the staff were very warm and welcoming. My room looked out to the Empire State building and a quiet backstreet, which was amazing for rest after long days of exploring the city. The room was perfect for one person, though it may have been a little snug for two people.

There are 2 elevators per floor, so it could get a little busy sometimes where I had to wait a few minutes for one to free up before I could hop on. Not a major deal though. While you can request an electric kettle at additional charge, I would have expected one to be included for the price, especially as there is no restaurant/cafe within the hotel. As I said there were plenty of options for breakfast around, but would have been nice to have something within the room.

I am very satisfied with my stay and would stay here again when I come to NY. Location is perfect, close to Empire State Building, maybe 20 minutes from Times Square but still away from all the noise and rush. Coffee shops and restaurants all around. Mind that I am a woman solo traveller and safety was a very high priority for me. I've found several decent hotels nearby that had reviews how surrounding area didn't feel very comfortable and safe at night so I chose Iberostar and I can now verify that I had no situations that would made me feel uncomfortable. The absolute best part of the room is the bed. It was sooo comfy that I would hardly get up in the morning. Room was a decent size, especially for NYC and had everything I needed.

I found some hair around the drain in the bathroom on the first day. Not a sight one wants to see, but they cleaned it the next day. I do care a lot about cleanliness but don't let things like these ruin your stay or image of the hotel when everything else is more than ok. Things like these happen... My room was cleaned every day and I had no other issues. The one other thing to mention is I don't think that there is any soundproofing in the rooms, but I luckily I didn't have noisy neighbors so I got a good night sleep.

We stayed here for 6 nights and loved almost everything about the property - location, cleanliness, comfort, and service. Highly recommend it.

We had some issues where our key card did not work properly and we couldn’t enter our room, but each time the issue was promptly resolved by the staff. The quality of the toiletries needs improvement - the shampoo especially is really bad. Lastly, we had 12 room nights booked - 2 rooms for 6 nights each and had requested for early check-in more than 2 months prior as we expected to reach the hotel by noon after a really long journey. Usual check-in is 3:00 pm. But despite that when we arrived, we were charged a fee of $50 and given access to 1 room. It would have been a nice gesture to give us the early check-in complimentary.

Location of the hotel was excellent. 5min walk from Grand Central Station (as long as you come out at the right exit). Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Read a number of reviews expressing frustration at having to wait up to 15mins for a lift to arrive, we never had that issue in the 6 nights we we're there. We had a twin double room which had a small fridge, iron, plenty of full length mirrors which my daughter loved, bath robes, hair dryer, decent WiFi connection. Although small, it was good to see the gym had a couple of weight machines in there as well as dumbbells.

Although clean, the rooms are starting to show their age a little. The bathroom was smaller than I'd expected. We had an issue with the safe in the room where it wouldn't open despite the correct code being entered. It turned out to be because some of the contents were resting against the door, which was odd. Called the front desk and they had to send someone up but managed to get it sorted within 30mins. As mentioned below the gym was OK but a little small.

Amazing hotel and staff. Beautiful rooms with a wonderful view. Employees who take care of guests. The best possible neighborhood. it's close to everything (2 min from Grand Central) and safe. You can feel the real atmosphere of the city. I recommend this hotel to everyone. The employees are really lovely and helpful. Possibility to leave suitcases on the day of departure. I spent my birthday there and it was amazing. I hope to be back there! Thank you for having us.
