Palm Suites

We came for the weekend and were interested in an inexpensive room and found one at the Palm Suites. It was cheap enough that I wondered what sort of place I'd chosen, but when I got there, I was delighted with what I found. It is an older building that has been renovated and they've done a great job with the renovation. Everything was clean and nice. It's located on the sound, so many of the rooms have balconies overlooking the sound. My room was facing the highway which was explanation of why it was so inexpensive, but that was fine with me because we were just needing a place to sleep, and inside the room, I didn't notice any noise from the highway. The room had a table and couch and refrigerator, microwave, and kitchen sink, in addition to the regular hotel-like bathroom and comfortable bed. Lynne was at the front desk and she was super nice, friendly, and helpful. All in all, it was a great option in Atlantic Beach/Morehead City, and next time we go, I'll look there first.

Rooms are designed like tiny homes, microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, kitchen sink. Has all the amenities, to make your stay away from home, comfortable. Building is located in driving distance to grocery stores, gas stations, and within a 5 minute drive from the ocean front.

Everything was wonderful. Visit Palm Suite, when you are planning your next vacation. It is well worth the quality and you will be delighted with how accommodating the staff is to ensure your stay away from home was enjoyable.

The room was clean and very cozy, staff was very friendly.

Communication with the front desk could be improved regarding check-in. I called to make sure I check in early and I was told 2 pm so I showed at 2:30 only for the front desk to be busy and was told I can't check in. When I said I had just spoken to someone an hour ago, she left me check in but was clearly frustrated. I don't hold it against her but it's clear there needs to be better communication between employees. She indicated that the rep I had spoken to is someone off campus and not in-house which was the reason for the miscommunication. Also, the back door was unlocked and we didn't know until we came back that evening. That is a safety issue that should be double checked by staff when preparing rooms.

The staff was extremely friendly which was pleasant to see in a world that lacks customer service. The property was beautiful , one of the highlights of the trip was sitting outside watching the water .

The fishing pier was closed , we booked here for this reason so it was a major inconvenience to have traveled with our fishing pools and not be able to fish the sound side. We were told we would be asked to leave if we were caught fishing. The next morning we went to get in the pool and the pool was closed for treatment . We only booked one night so we missed out on this as well but the staff responded to our concerns better than we could have asked.

The staff were awesome, super friendly and accommodating. Everything was CLEAN which is hard to find these days at such a good price. It is quiet during prime sleeping hours, public beach access across the street, and walking distance to several shops and restaurants, I barely drove anywhere during my 3 day stay. Over all this was a cozy place PERFECT for a solo or couples trip.

The curtains to my sliding glass door were completely see through, and the room was on the first floor, in front, facing the parking lot 😅 However, the staff happily gave me a blanket to drape for extra coverage and that temporarily solved the problem. She also informed the room owner ( I believe each one is individually owned ) so hopefully they resolve that to give their next guess total privacy. As a woman traveling and staying alone, it did spook me until I was sure no one could peep through the blanket.

I loved the comfort of the king bed. Enjoyed there being 2 televisions. Having a fridge helped, along with the coffee pot being in my room while also having access to complimentary coffee up front.

I didn't enjoy our balcony being right on top of the pools sitting area; there was a lot of excess noise from other visitors jumping in and splashing about the pool. I also would've preferred a more light blocking curtain so it wasn't as bright during the day through the very large sliding glass windows. There was also quite a bit of stains on the couches and pillows.

This location is great! It is near everything in Atlantic Beach. It is not on the ocean, but is on the sound. We did not have a sound view this time, but that was OK. The value for the room, compared to other things in the area, is very good. The beds were comfortable.

The room was a bit dark. One of the lamps did not work and there were not a lot of other lights. However, we were there one night and near the beach, so it did not bother us too much. Each room in this hotel is different, so this may not be a problem overall.

The beds were comfortable and I found it very convenient because I was traveling with little kids that the room had a microwave and a mini fridge we could use.

The road noise was kind of a lot coming through the sliding door also the flag pole outside made a clanging noise all night because of the wind I know not much can be done about that but there weren’t even flags on the poles so maybe just take them down if they aren’t used to avoid this. None of this would keep me from staying again just wanted to provide honest feedback.

The location was great. The room was very spacious and the bed was surprisingly comfortable.

There were ants crawling on the desks when we first entered the room. I had to buy bug spray and use it to kill them. Each evening there were kids running through the hallway outside our door and whomever was in the room above us apparently had kids jumping and flipping all the time so it was very noisy when trying to rest at night. Also when the door slams to the rooms next to you it is very loud.

It's on an inlet. Big rooms with a couch and two TVs. The staff are friendly. We received a text to see if we needed anything, and they responded quickly. This is a nice place to stay with the family.

The dock used to be open to the ones that stayed there. Due to people that didn't stay there, they have closed it off. We used to love to let the kids fish off the dock and have lunch at the picnic tables. I hope this will be reopened to the ones that pay to stay there.
