Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center

I thought the breakfast buffet offered a good selection of food and beverages, and was quite filling. My room was spacious and comfortable; it was missing its ironing board but I was able to get one from housekeeping with no trouble. The location was ideal; served by most bus lines and walking distance from the University of Pittsburgh campus and other landmarks.

My room was not available when I arrived in spite of my reservation because rooms were overbooked for two social events. However, Ted at the front desk took the time to explain things to me and was exceedingly helpful in finding me temporary accommodations. His diligence and care smoothed over a potentially dire situation for me, so kudos to him.

Location was good. Parking garage was close by. Beds were very fresh and clean. Check in and out was quick and easy.

Overwhelming "clean" smell in the hallways and carpet in the rooms. There was no mini fridge in the room so we had to throw our expensive leftovers from dinner away. We had an accessible room, but the only thing accessible about it was lower bathroom counters and one grab bar in the tub. My daughter, who uses a wheelchair, didn't shower because she couldn't. This room should not be listed as accessible. Beds were a lot firmer than I prefer. In desperate need of updating; especially the accessible rooms. I paid $30 at the hotel to park in the garage, but my garage fee was only $20 so I was suckered out of $10.

Very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Water bottles and coffee makers in the rooms are convenient. The renovated rooms are lovely. If visiting Pitt, it's the most convenient location possible!

Wish there was complimentary brewed coffee in the lobby. I am also not a fan of the new trend of not servicing the rooms daily which this and so many hotels have now embraced.

Great location to visit a college tour. All good restaurants are walking distance. Just 30-40min from Pittsburgh airport by Uber/Lift. Early check-in is paying option but we'd appreciate they let us check in 9am because our flight was morning arrival. A staff is friendly and helpful.

Bathroom is a bit outdated but no complaints. There were enough power outlets but Would be great if there was USB charging ports near the bedside.

Good location, friendly & helpful staff, secure parking, clean & quiet room, good shower water pressure.

Both times we stayed there, it was because my 83 year old mom needed procedures at Magee Women’s Hospital the following day and we wanted her to get a good night’s sleep. Last time, in November 2021, we were placed in a room beside a family with a baby that cried all night and we weren’t able to sleep. This time, we requested to have a room that was not near other occupied rooms, so it would be more quiet. That request was honored, which we appreciated. But, the radio alarm clock in the room rang in the middle of the night, which woke up my mom the night before her surgery. It would be helpful if the room alarm clocks were checked and the alarms were shut off every time someone checks out of a room.

Great location for visiting The University of Pittsburgh. Also, the option to do street parking right outside the hotel with parking meters was very convenient and cheaper than paying the hotel overnight fee, and we could see our car from our room. The staff was also wry friendly and helpful.

Location is amazing! Beds were excellent Parking is wonderful Fabulous free fruit ice water in lobby.

Such a huge dinning, bar and pouch- totally under utilized. Would have been a great place to stop in for coffee and a muffin in the morning (it was only opened one morning for full buffet) or grab a snack/drink in the afternoon. The lighting was poor and everything seemed dim Our king room did not have a mini fridge or microwave

Quiet room with a nice view. Room was clean. Parking was readily accessible. Checking in/out was easy & quick.

There was no refrigerator or coffee maker. This made it a little more difficult to have food and snacks, but not a deal breaker. A breakfast or free parking would have been nice to be included.

Elevators were annoying. You had to swipe your room key to access rooms above the mezzanine and half the time I didn't have my card so had to wait around until someone else entered the elevator. No security if it is this easy to access floors above 2.

My room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and everything was very clean! I appreciate that to reduce waste they avoid to come to exchange towels everyday and you can request if is needed. An extra wav the very beautiful view from my window.
