Best Western Plus Wilkes Barre Center City

Loved this hotel! We used the bar for food as we had arrived late and Michael and Jake (?) were wonderful! The beds and pillows were just the best. Slept better than I had in days! Breakfast was wonderful, lots of choices and all were great! Staff quick to replenish things. All staff, including Jennifer, were so nice and helpful. We had stayed at this hotel maybe four years ago and didn't realize that until we checked in. The only negative was we didn't get the rubber ducky. They are a pet friendly hotel and were great with our furry angel. They hand out treats and bags for the walks. I love this place and would stay there again!

The building is older and you notice that but it is in the city center so it is expected. The hotel room was a tad small for us to get around with our wheelchair bound offspring but we managed as most parents of special needs children do. The only negative was we didn't get the rubber ducky.

My husband and I were going to hear a concert at the Kirby Center. We have stayed at the Genetti/ Best Western Hotel for many years while attending events in Wilkes Barre. If you like “service,” cleanliness, pleasant staff, and outstanding food, this is your place to book! We had dinner in the Oyster Bar at the hotel before the show. The food was exquisite, but the table service was nothing less than elegant. Michael, our server, has skills of “days gone by.” He was very personable, and kept our table free of dishes, flatware, glasses and finally, the crumbs left on the table! We haven’t had that kind of attention to detail in table service, in decades! Because of this experience, our daughter is making an appointment to book this venue for her wedding. She and her fiancé were dining with us, as they drove from Philadelphia to celebrate my husband’s birthday. This hotel is simply outstanding! The vintage practices of this Best Western, is “Old Time Elegance.” This type of service should be pervasive, but sadly, the way of the world today, one is lucky if you get a greeting.

I think the furniture in the bar, while comfortable, could be updated.

I love the restaurant, the Oyster Bar. this has outstanding food. I love the location. it is a block from the FM Kirby center and we walk to concerts while staying there.

I am still getting used to people not working anymore, but I still do not like no housekeeping done every day. I read that we could empty our own garbage ?! or request fresh towels. I really miss the old days of housekeeping service.

They accommodated my dog. check in staff was the most helpful, friendliest staff person I have ever encountered at a check in. He personally showed me where our theater was that we were going to, explained the parking procedures very well, and provided recommendations for restaurants nearby. He anticipated all my questions before I even asked. I travelled a lot with my job and have never experienced someone so friendly and helpful.

Clean and fresh. Loved the natural toiletries. (I’m an essential oil fan) Great place to unwind before our wonderful concert experience. Pool was clean and wonderful after s long trip! Beds were comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great! Just an awesome experience.

Can’t think of any thing to add. Great experience. Will definitely use this facility if i attend any more concerts/activities in that area!

Everything! The restaurant on sight, the size of the room, but mostly it is the staff that are the reason I keep going back!! Every staff member I encounter which is just about all of them seeing as I stay every week have been FABULOUS!!! They make your stay as comfortable as possible!!

Chef Tony's breakfast ensemble was amazing, easily the highlight of my stay. He takes considerable pride in his morning creations, additionally he greets and directs each guest when they enter...a nice accommodating touch. He adds terrific value to the hotel.

It is an old city hotel, to fully renovate would cost millions.

was pleastantly surprised in the room size and cleanliness. was there for my son who is attending Kings College perfect location and when we checked in the lobby could not have been friendlier or more accomodating

it is a little dated but other than that nothing.

from the start Shay took care of us. we called the day before and asked for arrangements to have 2 rooms close together and she was able to accommodate us. Then she was who greeted us and checked us out promptly.

nothing was disliked although I did need assistance finding the breakfast area. Shay assisted me with that. it is a little hidden.

it was centrally located downtown within easy walking distance to restaurants and the square. Breakfast was very good each morning. Bar was very nice also. Nice pool area.

Our 2nd floor room had a view of the roof. So in exciting 😩
