Hillside Boutique Hotel

We stayed in room 107. At first look the hotel was nice... but only if you didnt look too closely at the details. Please see the not liked portion of this form so that you can have a better understanding of the reason I was not too happy overall.

We stayed in room 107. There was rust on the fridge, mold under the microwave, the sink was cracked... there was paint, dirt, dust, and soap residue in almost every corner of the room and bathroom. We were only in town for a funeral so for two nights, we over looked the issues, the bed was okay and the tv was nice. The best thing about the room was the balcony as it did have a nice view, but that led straight into a back parking lot and there were a lot of roaming street cats. Not too bad, we dont mind cats, but my 7-year-old was obsessed with trying to catch them which made even being outside uncomfortable. 10/10 for location and price but 6/10 for the overall room itself.

The room was rustic, I loved.that it had a tile floor, great shower, bed was comfortable, robes. I loved that it had a private deck with chairs and picnic tables where you could enjoy outdoors. The swimming pool was beautifully decorated and the landscaping was beautiful. The restaurant was beautiful but expensive.

There was no ice machine, close to.the highway was a bit noisy and the restaurant prices for breakfast were high and not included with the room price which was high without the discount I was able to get through booking.com

The location was perfect for our travels. We felt we were in a very safe environment and the staff was amazing! The thing that I noticed most is that although we were on a major highway, we never heard any of the traffic inside our room; it was so very quiet!

Although the facilities were very clean, the bathroom needed some attention. The air vent was dirty and rusty, and the metal access panel over the tub was very rusty and the paint was flaking.

Dinner was excellent.

We were told by a server that we didn’t need reservations for breakfast. When we got to the restaurant we were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait. Check out is 11:00 am which makes it inconvenient to the guests to make them wait for no reason. There were a handful of tables occupied. The restaurant was not busy at all, but we were told that if we had a reservation they would seat us right away. There’s a definite disconnect about what’s being told to guests. We ended up at Castroville Cafe which was delicious. Other than that it was a good stay.

It is very beautiful, great location between Hondo and San Antonio Tx. The room once in very beautiful, elegant and comfortable. Back porch overlooking scenic vista views gorgeous! Room has several "Fixer Upper" characteristics and charm.

Building number 1 where i stayed is closest to very busy Hwy. While the room itself dampens traffic noise enough to sleep. I wouldn't include it with same tranquility advertising as rest of property. The picturesque setting is messed up by the constant flow of traffic. I would advertise this building and room like a La Quinta Inn Deluxe King. Also need to include that everyroom has stairs either climbing up or climbing down. While not the most difficult 10 or 12 stairs to climb. Stairs are stairs. Im past dragging luggage upstairs and downstairs. I think the high price of rooms not worth the non-disclosed difficulties.

We ate outside over looking the courtyard and pool area. The scenery was beautiful along with the weather. We each had the omelette with hash browns and toast which outstanding!! We also had dinner the night before and I think they have an awesome 5 star in their midst. The little gals that waited on us along with the little gal that was bartender amazing!! Everyone was awesome and full of smiles!!I

I don't know what I didn't like. This place is amazing and there is too much good to say!!

My son and I stayed here while visiting my Dad and his wife in San Antonio. We liked the roominess and decor of the room. We liked that there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The balcony was nice and I enjoyed sitting out on it. Our stay was very nice.

Minor things- there were no tissues in the room, no tea (just coffee), and there was no helpful information about the hotel or the surrounding area in the room.

Absolutely great! Love this hotel. I would go out of my way to stay here. The staff was so friendly! If only I could remember everyone’s names! Becca from the bistro was delightful! Miranda from the front desk was as well. Everyone I came across was smiling. Although I don’t recall her name, there was a friendly woman cleaning rooms this morning who was from San Diego who was just so nice! 5 star service all around :)

Absolutely beautiful hotel tucked away in the country. Quiet, rural, but some nearby shopping for necessities. The staff were kind and accommodating. Our rooms were kept clean and my sister had a beautiful wedding.

Incredibly overpriced. It’s a fancy motel. Front faces the highway, and the back view on my ‘sun deck’ was of the assisted living facility across the street.
