Holiday Inn Express - Richmond Downtown, an IHG Hotel

The staff was very accommodating, really friendly, helpful, professional and kind. I love the women at the front desk. We got a free upgrade on the room. The room was huge, clean, comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The downtown location was great, about 20 minutes to the Capitol building. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby too. This hotel offers a hot breakfast (omelet, sausage etc.). Other options are also available (fruits, juice, cereals, yogurt, cream cheese, jam, toast, bagels, muffins, etc.). The cinnamon rolls are delicious!

The room was huge, clean and air conditioning worked well. We had a lovely view out of the 6th floor window of the city skyline. The downtown location was great, about a 10 minute walk to the civil war museum, 20 minutes to the capitol building. There are a few bars and restaurants nearby too. Breakfast was nice, hot options as well as bagels and cereal. Overall a good place to stay. Really friendly staff.

I really don't like that this hotel uses disposable plastic cutlery and plates at breakfast, it's so very wasteful and terrible for the environment. I've noticed everywhere we have stayed on this trip does this though 😞. In our room there was a coffee maker and some tea bags but no way of actually making tea as no kettle.

Housekeeping was exceptional. Ever since Covid, the hotels I've stayed at, I've barely received service. This was not the case here. The hotel was very clean. The front desk person was friendly and efficient. A microwave, fridge, and safe were provided. Hot breakfast (eggs, sausage...) were available.

The noise on Saturday. Terrible neighbors. Several people on my floor were partying it up until 3 am.

Ms. Barbara was amazing and patient. The young man on 11/23/22 night shift check out was patient and very helpful while dealing with multiple situations. The two young ladies at breakfast were so patient and helpful. My hands were full and the maintenance man went out of his way to get the elevator for me!! 👍 The beds were soooo comfortable!!! Driving down from Pennsylvania was very tiring in holiday traffic.

That I had to leave.. I wanted to stay with my family.

The room was perfect for our needs. We needed 2 double beds. The parking garage was very accessible with needed ingress and egress as needed for quick trips. The room ate and the parking rate were reasonable. The breakfast was hot and just fine. The room was very comfortable. We didn't use the shower (just a one night stay) but I am not sure that the bottles of shower gel and shampoo bottles to the shower wall contained any product. My companion thought the toilet rocked when used; I didn't notice that. If I had I would have mentioned it when we checked out.

Breakfast had a lot of choices. Service was great, even when getting checked in was a bit rough. But they worked it out.

It's not really a didn't like because in the end it got fixed. Check in was rough due to short staff and getting the rooms clean. It took about 30 extra minutes to get a room because of cleaning. When we got up to the room it was still a bit dirty. Some trash on the floor and things may not have been wiped down completely. Oh, there was a woman's razor still in the shower. Wasn't sure what we could do, because of how it was earlier and I'm pretty sure the place was full. So we left to do things downtown and when we got back everything was as it should have been when we got there. So it was a bit slower to happen but they got it done so we were happy.

I like the location and everything was really clean!

the only thing I didn’t like was whoever checked me in didn’t actually tell me how to get to my room so I was just wandering for a bit but that’s not a big deal I was just confused and I only point it out because someone else was wandering too

On-site parking - usually $15 per night (they didn’t charge me). The room was nice and quiet and clean. Everything worked well. The breakfast was a nice mix of items, many freshly prepared. There was a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and a decent-size fridge. I had a nice 3 mile hike in the afternoon - down the hill on the 2nd street side to Belle Isle loop trail. There’s a great Jewish deli up the street (forgot the name), and their grocery (“Stella’s), which is right next to it. They have great hand-made paninis and wraps !

I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like. Downtown Richmond still is not quite back to what it used to be before COVID.

Location is very good, quite central and still in a quiet area. Staff was exceptional, very friendly, helping me with all questions. Room was large, quiet, good airconditioned. Breakfast is simple, but good. It's a nice stay for good price.

Hotel was within walking distance of downtown and comfortable. The front desk staff were outstanding - very helpful in telling us about the different parts of the city and where to eat. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Lighting was a bit dim, but not a problem since just slept in the room. Liked having outlets and USB ports on the bedside lamp!!

The breakfast was kind of pathetic even by covid-standards. Would recommend having coffee available downstairs since it's a pain to go back upstairs to use the keurig maker (especially when checking out). But this was not a big deal.
