Courtyard by Marriott Richmond Downtown

From valet to front desk to room I was amazed at the service. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. I even called for toothpaste and Levi bought it up in minutes. Great service for the value.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t an indoor pool. That’s all I didn’t like. Haha

I loved the location. It was exactly what we wanted to be able to walk around the city for meals and our main excursion, going to the convention center.

A menu in the room listing the food options would have been helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel, mainly because we didn’t know what was available and don’t really want to take the time to figure it out when we got downstairs. At that point, we were too hungry and just went out to find something to eat.

Location is perfect, cobblestone streets surrounding the Hotel, staff, décor, and our view were all spot on. We didn't expect a complimentary breakfast, it was a wonderful surprise and the dining room is beautiful. Room was nice and quite spacious! Very comfortable bed :-)

Travel size lotions in the bathroom would be a nice touch for travels like us :-) My wife and I frequently travel by the seat of our pants spur of the moment so we're not always prepared with travel bags or even clothes lol! The Hotel saved the day by providing us with toothbrushes and paste!

Wonderful staff; comfort of room, lobby, and courtyard; great location.

Would have liked assistance with luggage upon check in and out.

Stayed here for a concert at a venue a few blocks away. Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to restaurants.

Didn’t like my view from my window. It was basically the alley and facing the building next to it and couldn’t really see anything else. Wish I had a better view of the city.

Loved courtyard outside but wished it was closer to the street - didn’t like smokers

The hotel has a fresh look, a very comfortable lobby and courtyard. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

We did not like the constant hum in the room. We were able to change to another floor/room the next day to move away from the air return. We did not like the view of the brick wall and the dirty alley beneath. When we were moved to another location, the view of the courtyard is very nice.

The property was extremely clean, warm, welcoming, and a great place to retreat between attending a wedding and doing some sightseeing. The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating, and didnt ever once make me feel like I was being a burden. Of particular note, Gary - the bartender who works at night was a great person to interact with and get to know when we were winding down after a long day. We went out of our way to go downstairs at night because he made the bar so welcoming, and had really great craft cocktails among the other usual wine/beer/liquor fare. He’s a great guy, definitely don’t miss out on visiting him. Our room was nice and quiet and we got a great nights sleep! The hotel is conveniently located in Downtown Richmond, ~15-20 mins from the airport, and where one can easily reach other parts of town (The Fan, Scott’s Addition, Carytown) in no more than 10 minutes by car. Ubers were very easy to pick up and drop off.

This is more of a personal preference, but I like to keep my room cold at night - and I don’t think the thermostat actually went down to 65 degrees. Not a show stopper by any means, and this was the only critique I had on the property. Everything else was EXCELLENT.
