Hanoi Marvellous Hotel & Spa

The hotel is located in the heart of the Old Quarter, which makes it easy to move around. There is an abundance of eateries and amenities, plenty of things to see and do, during your stay. The rooms are larger than in other parts of the city. Every item is sensibly designed and it made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast is highly-praised by previous hotel guests, and I was curious what the hype was. I stayed in the hotel for 5 days, and the menu was varied each day. There is a selection of eggs, pancakes French toast and even pho that is made to order. The breakfast was a great way to start each day. The most amazing thing about the hotel is the service. I am an avid traveller, and have stayed in many hotels. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the best service I have received. I made my dietary restrictions known to one member of staff, and over the next few days, different persons remembered and made sure I was not eating the wrong food during breakfast. The communication between the staff is also remarkable. Each person knows your schedule, like what time your city tour starts, or the timing of your airport transfer. I often overhear the staff checking in with different guests to find out if their needs have been met, and if they have enjoyed their stay. The staff goes above and beyond to meet your needs. It is easy to recommend eateries around the hotel, but they also go the extra mile to find out what you have eaten and what you liked/disliked before making their recommendations. I know booking.com allows you to give a rating of 10, but if I had it my way, would have given them a 15.

the hotel is in a great location, smack bang in the middle of the old quarter. The rooms are nice and most importantly the water pressure in the shower was GREAT. The best thing though about the hotel are the staff - so incredibly friendly and helpful! From adding an extra night to our booking, to helping us organise transport to Halong Bay. They even went out of their way to help us park our motorbike in a safe carpark overnight. Fantastic service!

Hanoi Marvellous was the gift that kept on giving. We used it as a base for numerous trips to surrounding areas and stayed an overall of 5 nights here. The staff were truely exceptional. Waking up early to prepare a takeaway breakfast for us at 5am, providing so much information for us, holding our bags for us during our trips away, greeting us like friends every-time we arrived and even decorating our room with a welcome home flyers and petals on our bed for our last night! We felt so at home and treated so well by the wonderful staff here. The location was also amazing, walking distance to the centre of old town without feeling like you were too much in the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was also great, the banana pancakes being a stand out! The rooms were clean and well decorated with great showers. Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere in Hanoi. Thank you beautiful staff again for this amazing stay!

Perfect location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Firstly, the hotel staff are amazing! I was here on business and stayed at the hotel for nearly a month. From front of house to house keeping to restaurant staff. Collectively this team went a above and beyond to make my stay perfect. They made me feel life part of their family. They even helped to arrange the logistics of all of meeting daily meetings! I stayed in multiple suites, each of them all adequate for my needs, the balcony suites were beautiful with a lovely view of the skyline a bustling streets below. The restaurant breakfasts had a good variety and the staff very attentive. I also had some of the best massages, ever! I would definitely recommend this hotel and I look forward to my return in July. 10/10

There was nothing to dislike!

Positives: - Amazingly attentive and helpful staff. Really felt like home after a few days (we stayed for a week). Special shout out to Ms Linh (hope I rembered correctly)! - Very convenient and central location - Room is surprisingly quiet!! I say surprisingly as mentioned above, it's in a busy location and Hanoi is a very busy and loud city. - Great value for money - Comfy large bed - Lots of storage

Negatives: - Room wasn't that big for a 'junior suite' - still comfortable though - Room feels quite dark as the windows are quite small and one of them faced a small courtyard

We were greeted by Cuong (Ethan) straight off of our airport transport and Thang helped us with our bags and opened the door for us. The greeted us with smiles and welcome drinks and sweets. I felt at home as soon as I saw their faces. Manh (Daniel) also greeted us and talked us through the hotel and a few options for excursions. Manh and Cuong and lovely Quynhanh (Jenny) helped us with some fantastic food recommendations for our stay. Absolutely delicious, I recommend going to every one of their recommendations they never fail and every dish I had was lovely. We had a 3 day stay elsewhere for the cruise in Ha long Bay and on us leaving and returning Cuong and Tung helped with our bags they were so efficient and friendly and kind once again. Also Jack (apologies didn't catch his Vietnamese name) helped my dad with getting some bracelets whilst we were away and when he wanted to sort them out Cuong who helped with our bags took him out on the moped. My parents and aunt and uncle are a little less mobile so information with regard to the excursions to help them was really helpful. The breakfast!!! Absolutely amazing!!! So delicious fantastic options and lots of food. Service at breakfast was wonderful! Greeted with smiles and kindness. Also very fast with the a la carte orders. French toast was my absolute favourite. Stars of the breakfast show were Khai and Hoai, I'm sorry I didn't mention them in my trip advisor review but they deserve a lot of recognition they faithfully served everyday always with a smile. And I know sometimes we were annoying and demanding but they were kind throughout. Thank you so much Khai and Hoai!!! Also my aunt had some time in the spa and she said it was lovely. Basically I would tell everyone to stay here this place is amazing and Vietnamese hospitality is amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys! They work hard and are so friendly. I am so grateful to them and loved every minute I spent in Vietnam!!

I cannot express adequately how much we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Having traveled 6 continents, both for work and pleasure, this is the best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Much of this has to do with the hotel staff, particularly the hotel lobby, which is "the face of the hotel". Diligent, earnest, helpful, and informative, they created an environment that truly made us feel that we were "home". We extended our stay in Hanoi due to the superb treatment we received from this hotel. Thank you, Ryan and Daniel, in particular!!

In short, there was nothing we didn't like.

The staff are exceptional at meeting your needs and remembering who you are. I required local transportation one morning and they ordered it for me within minutes. I also needed to leave my baggage all day and take a shower before heading to the airport which they accommodated. The rooms are very well decorated and have all the amenities one needs. The free breakfast was great as they make dishes to order and have a buffet ready as well. The location is near the heart of the old city making walking around easy.

There's a lot of noise in the building (and outside) at all hours probably due to bad insulation. My heater in my room worked then stopped and only did a/c (I didn't call reception to fix). Pre-booked airport transfer a little pricey compared to other choices.

The breakfasts at this hotel were excellent. There was lots of choice of fresh fruits and salads as well as really good coffee. But the best of all about breakfasts was the amazing hard working breakfast staff, Hoai and Khai. They were just amazing! Nothing was ever too much trouble, and so friendly. I felt sad that I was leaving. The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the heart of the old city. I was able to walk to so many places in a short time, and there was every sort of facility that you might want close by such as retaurants, chemist, souvenir shops, cafes, etc The rooms were well presented and very clean. Overall, this hotel was kept immaculately clean. The travel desk in the lobby of the hotel is run by Ms Jolie Ng. Jolie is very well informed, and knows her product well. She was able to put together a number of one day and several day excursions for me. Her expertise was instrumental in my having a fun-filled and learning experience in Northern Vietnam, all linked together seamlessly with transport and other accommodation. Highly recommended! Every member of the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. They were almost like family after only two weeks. After a 3 day trip to Sa Pa I returned to a welcome home banner in my room, and greetings all round.

Although this is an excellent hotel, I was disappointed in what they called a "suite". This did not fit my description of a suite, rather it was simply a slightly larger room with an uncomfortable bench.
