The Light Hotel

Great location, value and spotless rooms - my whole stay was as smooth as it goes. This was mostly due to the great staff that are always around for everything you may need. Special thanks to front desk worker, Rachel (If I remembered the name correctly) whose approach and behavior is what you can see only at the best 5 star hotels. All together - highly recommended!

this property was about $10 more then the previous hotel we stayed in in Hanoi before heading out to Ha Long Bay (unfortunately this hotel did not show up in our search otherwise we would have stayed here) the previous hotel was s..t, pay the extra and stay here, everything was very good, very clean, comfy bed, good size room with a window, helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast , great food in the on site restaurant, fab stay 😀

Breakfast - this was the main highlight of this hotel they had fresh food they had lots and lots of choice and you also had a view of the city as the breakfast room was very high up. Pool - the pool was very quiet and very relaxing and nice and warm. Location - the hotel is fairly Central with a short walk to the main lake in Hanoi. At checkout the lady gave us a small gift of a bag of coffee which was a very nice touch.

Room - the room was very boring there was no window it was just a very small room with a bed and a window that looked into the bathroom not very appealing. Accessibility - the breakfast room and the pool are on the top floors however the lift does not go to these floors meaning you need to go to the nearest floor to the top and then walk up some stairs this is not ideal if you are in a wheelchair or you have difficulty climbing stairs.

The hotel is quite big, providing many services. But we were a bit disappointed with our room.

We upgraded to a room with a window and we got one with a really small window facing a wall! Also there is a structural problem with their showers, if you use a little more water pressure there will be water all over the bathroom as the glass at the shower cannot contain it properly. The staff is really helpful and if you want to book any excursions they can set you up with anything you like. BUT there is significant pressure on their side to use these services at the hotel. For us, that we have already booked all our planned day trips beforehand, their insistence on their side felt a bit annoying.

The staff & the location absolutely made this hotel! Travelling as a family of 4 with 2 young children means we can be quite needy! The staff were always too happy to help with any questions or concerns that we had. They even washed baby bottles for us daily! The bar was cosy and a nice addition to the stay, quite enjoyed a red wine there at night. The pillows were comfy and rooms dark making for a comfy sleep. Housekeeping daily was much appreciated.

Pool temperature too warm, daily breakfast was fine but would have liked to see hand sanitiser around as it was buffet style…

The Service was very nice and helpful. What we loved most about this luxurious hotel was the rooftop pool with a view and the Happy Hour at the hotel bar. The rooms and bathroom were clean and checkin and checkout were easy. They even upgraded our room for free when a nicer one was available. (+ They had soy milk at breakfast, which is a rare and welcome sight for two vegans in Vietnam.) good location, in the old quarter, near train street. Overall a great experience

It’s not on the cheap side. But quality comes at a price I guess. Don’t book if you’re looking for an authentic Vietnam experience. But it’s great when you want to relax for a couple nights.

The staff were fantastic. The breakfast is plentiful and a variety of choices. The location is central in the old quarter. We stayed on two occasions, first a two night stay prior to going for three days in Sa Pa. This required an early start, and the staff kindly packed us a selection of goodies to take with us. Another amazing feature was the three ovulating spa jets in the shower that massage your back whilst you stand under the rain head. Fantastic sensation. However, on our return, we were given a room on the 10th floor directly below the kitchen and restaurant. A really nice room and we didn't realise the placement of the room. It was also a dearer rate than previously. At 4.45am the staff busied themselves preparing for breakfast. It was as if they were in our room. After a phone call to reception and later a discussion with the manager we were kindly offered an apology and were very grateful to receive some extra services. This wasn't necessary however, we were extremely grateful.

Cleanliness, location , breakfast ,sleep quality bedding,soundproof rooms. Rooms n bathrooms were superclean .breakfast selection was good .location was absolutely perfect....in the middle of market yet not loud . Only thing I found a bit off was the behaviour of staff at restaurant...(.10th floor,brrakfast).not warm..no smiles....they serve as if they do u a favour.....certainly something not typical of Vietnamese hospitality....people are mostly warm,smiling friendly and super sweet..however the reception desk staff was sweet n helpful Overall I loved the stay at the light hotel🥰

- Got called and woken up as I overslept one of my tours. They went up and beyond to get me on that tour to Halong Bay. Would have even prepared some breakfast for me as I missed it. - On the day I was leaving I also left at 7 am and they would have again provided some breakfast (I had my breakfast that day already). - I got a see off present with a coffee and a little cooker - that was so nice. - Nice describes the all of the employees. - Location!!! In the middle of everything and when it was too much taking a break from exploring in the rooftop pool - Breakfast!

No window with daylight but I knew that when I was booking the room (due to that I might have overslept for one of my tours). Aside from that I only spent time spleeping and showering there, so all good.

We are frequent travelers, we have visited more than 40 countries and I can tell you that this Hotel is one of the best we have stayed at. The staff are wonderful, always friendly and willing to help you, the location is very good, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast was simply divine. I thank all the staff who treated us so well, especially Jenny. We will definitely be back.
