Shan and Donald were excellent hosts. They provided comprehensive directions to find the Castle, and on arrival, we were welcomed with tea and home baked cake. They provided advice and directions for local restaurants and for catching sunset at Sawtell Beach. The beds were very comfortable and the home cooked breakfast was very nice. The property is very well maintained with lovely gardens surrounding.

Approach to the property has a few turns and is best done for the first time in daylight as there is no lighting on the entry track at night.

The Castle at Bonville was a wonderful place to stay for 2 nights, to play golf at the Bonville Golf resort. The accommodation was so comfortable, the decor and furniture beautiful. Hosts Donald and Shan were very welcoming on arrival and provided great information about local places of interest and food venues. Everything was clean, neat and tidy. The breakfast each morning was great. We can highly recommend staying here.

Our stay at the Castle was a delight. the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was more than spacious with a gorgeous view over the valley. Breakfast (which was included in the price) was more than ample in size and delicious - with a choice of options each morning we stayed! And they even provided fresh mint tea!

I struggle to find anything I didn't like! If it had been a hotel I would have liked tea/coffee making in our room , but as it was B&B, this wasn't provided and not necessary really.

Experience for all senses. Wonderfully designed and adorned castle. The atmosphere set with classical music. We were met with warm cake and tea of our choice. Beautiful home made pastries and freshly squeezed juice for breakfast with a big bowl of fresh fruit and a hot coffee. Wonderful service from the friendly owners. Magical experience.

Nothing. Absolutely perfect.

The room, breakfast and the hosts were great! The room and bathroom were clean and spotless. Donald and Shan were gracious hosts. The decorations and gardens were beautiful and in keeping with the theme of the Castle..

The was no ensuite , you had to leave your room and go next door. Okay, as there were no other guests but a little uncomfortable.

Very beautiful property, with amazing attention to detail. You can feel how much passion is put into everything, from furniture and decoration to the regional self made food (breakfast). Great fit for people who like peaceful nature. The hosts Shan and Donald are amazing and very welcoming people, who gave us a lot of tips, both for local sightseeing/restaurants and for our next destination (Sydney).

I can’t come up with anything really.

The location is perfect - peaceful, tranquil and serenity all around. The breakfast is expertly cooked, organic and five star restaurant quality. I met the chickens that laid the eggs. If you want a little excitement, there is classy and boutique Sawtell nearby with an excellent range of restaurants.

I could have stayed longer.

Donald and Shan created a wonderful gem. Their kindness and hospitality are amazing, truly second to none. They were very attentive and whatever we even just mentioned they already had something to offer. The breakfast was very delicious (and thank you for making it dairy free for me!) The Castle is beautiful, cosy with all the little details and touches. Just perfect.

Nothing, we loved everything.

Donald and Shan were wonderful hosts ! They have made their castle feel like a home, great attention to detail, so hospitable, great decor and historic pieces, fresh daily breakfast and wonderful service by both Donald & Shan. This was one of our stops on our honeymoon and we definitely didn’t regret it ! Location was also so central and within easy driving distance to many neighbouring towns and cities. We can’t recommend staying at the Castle highly enough ! Definitely the highlight stay of our trip.

We went to the castle for our anniversary and was such a delightful treat! The hosts are both very welcoming and generous with their time and what they offer. The room was spacious with beautiful views, and we were welcomed with lovely tea and cake then cake after dinner and a lovely breakfast with fresh farm eggs! It was a great experience that we will remember for a long time. Thank you, Donald and Shan.
