We had driven for seven hours so it was nice to arrive in such wonderful grounds and a historic property. We got there after reception closed, it was a Sunday, but it was easy to arrange a place for the key. The bistro being open until 9pm was great as we got in just after 8pm. The food at the bistro was first class. Having the doors open to the patio and the grounds made it feel much more than a motel type stay. Having a well stocked mini bar and snacks was also great. We didn’t partake in much but so often when you are travelling you land in places with an empty fridge. The other huge thing was my wife left her favourite pillow case in the room. They called to tell us and were more than happy to mail it to us. They actually went the extra mile. The staff were all super friendly, we need to find a reason to go back.

Room. It was well appointed and included things such as extension cord, tub to wash cups and plates, dish cloth and detergent, tea towel. The air conditioner worked quickly and efficiently to warm and cool the room. There were plenty of nice cushions and a comfortable sofa. . The tv swivels to watch both from the sofa and the bed. It is in a rural setting between Bowral and Moss Vale, therefore quiet with nice views.

The bed was a bit hard for me and I had to keep turning over, but it is hard to please everyone. The pillows were not good. One out of five was comfortable, the others were thin, flat and lumpy and one smelled of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was of both poor quality and value; the scrambled eggs were inedible, the one piece of bacon I had was like leather and the coffee from the machine was luke warm. Everything ran out quickly and there was a wait for the next batch, which I thought should have been anticipated. I passed on breakfast the second day and went elsewhere.

We had to leave unfortunately before breakfast. Excellent location and very quiet. Rooms very spacious and well-appointed with wonderful view over the lawn and lake. Loved watching all the ducks and ducklings waddling over to the lake. The dinner in the restaurant was fabulous - the duck and prawn dishes and the wine were all excellent, as was the ambience of both the indoor and outdoor dining settings. We loved our stay and will definitely come again and have already been recommending Briars to friends and colleagues.

Nothing, (except we had to check with Reception about how to adjust the ´Heat’ air con temperature to the cold setting. They explained there was a slide down panel on the remote with this and other functions -perhaps this slide down panel could have been referred to in Info Booklet as there was no way of knowing this, except to the initiated

The room was spacious and comfortable. The room had an area with a table and chairs and there was a lounge too. The double doors opened onto a grassed area but it was too cold to take advantage of that. We had dinner at the pub next door but you needed to make a booking beforehand. There was a good breakfast with a lot of choices available at the Lodge which we used.

Just two things If you cater for gluten free diet it should be put on a space of its own not clumped together with everything. This helps to avoid contamination. The other thing I would say is that there are way too many pillows and cushions on beds. We counted 10 on our bed. Bit over the top.

Room was really lovely, very comfortable and backed onto a gorgeous little lake. Super picturesque. The bed was nice and big and comfortable, exactly what you want for a quick little vacation in your own country. We had one night here and it was lovely. The room also has a bathtub which was lovely.

It would be much better if the room had access to a smart TV OR if there was an HDMI cable or Google attachment to ensure guests could stream their own Netflix, etc., as the TV only had Foxtel. Plus, even equipping the rooms with Netflix would be far cheaper than Foxtel, surely. Also, a small one, but it would be great if the bathrooms had warm light instead of cool light—I have a bath in there, but the lighting is very harsh!

The rooms are very clean and spacious with comfortable beds and a nice sitting room with a lovely view, cutlery and crockery for tea/coffee and a simple meal provided. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was very nice and enjoyed a pizza and drinks at the restaurant onsite. This accommodation is a few km out of Bowral but very quiet with lovely garden settings and amenities onsite so you don't need to drive. Our room had a lovely big bath/shower - would not suit older people that prefer walk in shower but we loved it!

It was much cheaper than almost anywhere else available, but also spacious and well set up. Very comfy bed, and it was good to have an efficient heater on a cold night, a microwave, my own crockery and a bath. The room also had a view of the lake, and a friendly duck that sat outside my French doors for at least an hour 😆

There was a very unpleasant smell when I got out of my car, but it seemed to be confined to my end of the parking area. The room itself was fine. I also struggled to make sense of the TV remote.

Very well-priced, room was very clean & cosy, beautiful view & grounds, having a pub very close by was a good bonus, staff were lovely. My all round expectations were exceeded. Beautiful venue.

The bathroom has limited space to put toiletries or clothes on & could possibly use a small stool or something. Despite the door hooks I had to put some of my clothes on the floor, which then got soaked when I showered because I didn’t realise I needed to leave the shower curtain in the bath. Though perhaps this is more a me thing?

The location is absolutely serene with all the rooms having a view of the lake , fountain and the pagoda. The rooms have been designed such a manner the beds are elevated so that the guests can enjoy the view from the comforts of their bed. We booked the room just a day in advance and still got a good deal given that it was during the Christmas holiday season. We got exactly what we wanted i.e. to stay a couple of days away from the hustle bustle and enjoy a lazy break doing nothing other than enjoying the nature. The breakfast in the conservatory was also very satisfying.

Specifically in our room, one side of the mattress had caved it which made it a little uncomfortable to sleep.

Love the size fo the room, the location and outlook. Breakfast in the restaurant was basic bur very good - no complaints. Parking was easy being right at the door of your room which was easy for loading/unloading luggage.

It's time for a refurb. The cost per night is not indicative of the quality. Whilst the room was clean, this place could be exceptional if brought up to date. It has not really changed since our last visit back in 2008 :)
