Argyle Hotel Southern Highlands

I enjoyed some meals at the Pub which were delicious. The location is excellent. Pubs are the best for talking to locals (staff and patrons) with knowledge of the area and activities. 2 recommendations were : lunch at a Restaurant in a "historic location"; and visit to the local Sunday Markets (happens every 3rd Sunday) which was "true country style", namely down to earth with lots of locally produced items and products to buy. All very enjoyable.

I chose a "Pub Stay", fully aware that it can get a little noisy at times, so I wasn't disappointed about anything. I would have liked to have a small mini-fridge in the room for milk and drinks.

Great value for money. My initial Queen room had water damage so upon checking in, the staff switched me to another room with two single beds but gave me a discount on the night's accommodation which was nice. I was only on my own so I didn't mind. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the bistro was great too. Typical pub accommodation with shared bathrooms. The rooms and bathrooms need a little bit of TLC but still comfy and wasn't an issue for me. I would easily consider staying again if I was visiting the area.

Pub downstairs was very cozy and quiet. Meals good value and extremely tasty. A good place if you are only after somewhere to eat and sleep after a day out and about. Room comes with biscuits, bottled water, tea and coffee making equipment. Centrally located for exploring the many attractions in the Southern Highlands: Bowral, Berrima, Mittagong, Fitzroy Falls only short drives away. Bakery across the street open early for breakfast.

It is a safe and comfortable hotel but there were a few little things which could easily be fixed to improve the overall experience: lingering smell of cigarettes and stained carpets in the room; lock on the door appeared to have moved over time (quite difficult to unlock and then needed to be slammed shut to keep closed); bathrooms are extremely dated.

No breakfast was offered. The bed was very comfy. The room was very clean though small. I did have to shuffle past the end of the bed. The bathrooms and toilets were more than adequate. We did not mind sharing them. The room had aircon/heating and TV. Tea/coffee facilities were in the room. The Bistro I would recommend. The steaks were great and there was a good selection of wines at good prices.

The back access stairs were the old treadplate metal. Though sturdy, they were a little dark. It was ok during the day. I don't know about at night.

Great people, friendly, good service, attentive. There was another very rude and inconsiderate guest staying there. Staff dealt with him efficiently, but I wish they'd called the cops and chucked him out. He was extremely threatening and abusive

No breakfast included or if there was, we were not told about it. The hotel was in a good location and very friendly staff. It was kept clean and tidy, bathrooms/toilets well maintained.

No cups to have tea/coffee. One kettle that was taken leaving no facilities for coffee/tea.

Maybe a mirror in bedrooms For hair and makeup so as not to hold up shared bathrooms for other people to use

Perfect location, friendly staff and a nice room. Didn't realise when we booked that it was a shared bathroom, but that didn't really matter in the end. The facilities were clean and well maintained

Modern room with good air conditioning and a comfy bed. Perfect spot to stay if you don’t wish to blow $350+ on surrounding accomodation after an event. Shared bathrooms were clean and tidy.

A little more expensive than comparable pubs but likely due to location and region.

Couldn’t stick around for breakfast unfortunately. The location was great as it was in Moss Vale and NOT awful overpriced opportunistic Sydney!!
