Oxley Motel

The room was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and very warm. The hotel was quiet, there were no rowdy guests. I really liked the privacy and service. The staff were wonderfully helpful when i asked for directions and advice. I would be very happy to stay again.

The electric jug needs cleaning. Put 4cm of water in the jug, add two heaped tablespoons of Bicarbonate Soda . Then add a cup of vinegar. Swish it around in the jug OVER THE SINK. When the frothing subsides leave the jug sitting on the sink for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes get a toothbrush and gently scrub the built up lime scale or minerals off the inside of the jug. Rinse the jug with running water a few times, then fill and boil water in the jug to remove and particles or taste.

Facilities are what one would expect from a motel of 3 to 4 stars clean tidy with hair dryer and ironing facilities in all rooms perfect when attending functions or weddings. Bowral in winter is cold but the room was well heated and comfortable. The closeness to the main street and its central location to the surrounding area was ideal. Would definatly stay again and recommend to others for a short stay.

The water saver head on the shower combined with the absence of a bathroom heater made for some very quick brisk showers. There was no breakfast option neither continental or cooked but with the main street cafes all in working distance this was easily resolved.

Location was ideal for the wedding I was attending. My room, in particular, was very quiet at the back of the block.

Nothing I didn’t like, and nothing that was a problem for me - but I had booked a disability access room and this wasn’t. it had no steps, and a walk in shower, which is all I needed for me mobility issues. However, it was not wheelchair accessible in bathroom (no grab bars, step into shower, and the toilet was tucked into a corner behind the door which would not be accessible for a wheelchair. As I said, none of this bothered me, but could be an issue if a wheelchair visitor books it.

Rooms were clean and comfortable and in good state of repair (I've stayed in some places with paint peeling!). Loved that there was lots of places to put our clothes etc.

There were no glasses at all (water, wine or anything) and the water flow couldn't maintain a steady temperature - maybe the rain shower head is too big for the pressure needed to maintain the temp? Kept going between hot and cold. Either was burning hot or cold, it wasn't able to stay at warm. Also would have loved a hair dryer.

Thu , one of the owners , picked me up as taxis were unavailable…,( really appreciated) … the rooms are large , no ugly bedspread, a good sized bathroom and lovely big white towels …. everything one may expect , iron , kettle, tea, good coffee, and nice bathroom products. …… AND the most incredible black out curtains !

….. nothing really ……. except it would look better if the brick work was painted or rendered in a modern colour … costly though

We had an eating table and a second chair and a desk area essential these days when both of us have laptops and need to check in with work. wifi was good.

booking.com didnt alert us that our chosen type of large room adjoined the next door apartment on one side. From past experience adjoining rooms are poorly designed you hear your neighbors conversations, parties, children and even midnight calls home to overseas. Managers told us next time ring them to ensure we had a room which was not adjoining. Families are upstairs tradies more often downstairs wed go down stairs as lugging suitcases in your senior years gets tedious.

Super clean, can tell a lot of care taken at this motel. Exceeded our expectations for a motel. We were really happy here. Microwave, kettle, tea & coffee, fridge & freezer were welcome features. Also - many sizes of towels provided, blankets and extra pillows. Lovely grounds. Lovely staff. Check in and check out smooth and easy.

The single bed in the room was fine for me as I am 163cm, but if it was a very tall person the single bed would be a bit small for them.

Everything was adequate and worked. The decor is looking pretty tired and a few features of the layout were a bit quirky, but the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. It is a couple of kms out of town and there is nothing much nearby. It was a little bit pricy for the quality--but that is probably just the Bowral effect!

Could do with a bit of a makeover but no real complaints.

We have no problem with this property, but we have some problem with the booking. We remembered very clearly that the room come with Breakfast in Room. But upon checking, the information all changed, there is no breakfast for Free. I didn't print out any details hence I could not make any complaints! Lesson to learn!

The room was spacious and clean. Nice and dark with the double blackout curtains and also nice to have aircon in the room. Motel had picnic tables to sit at outside which we were nice.

Could hear others and the TV in adjoining room and closing of other room doors were loud. Would be nice to have a BBQ outdoors and some bins so you can sit outside at the picnic tables and have a meal.
