Well breakfast wasn't offered during my stay as the kitchen was closed. This wasn't a problem as coffee shops and food shops are within walking distance. The location is perfect and lucky for my partner and I that school holidays were over and the hotel had plenty of rooms available so we were very lucky and were granted an upgrade. Our reason for travelling was my wife had just lost her father and she has been very upset. I told this to the front desk staff and he was generous enough to offer the up grade. A spa room is the way to go. the room also had a balcony and see Offen sat out watching the lawn bowlers practicing, very interesting, plus the ocean was a backdrop to the grassy lawn in front of the hotel. I will come again and will definitely book a spa room.

Location was lovely with views from the balcony over looking the bowling club lawns to the sea, stunning sunrise views. Henry & all staff were super friendly, efficient, happy vibe throughout the hotel & Bistro. The food was of a high standard & quality, with generous serves particularly the fresh Wharf Flathead in a beer & ginger light batter... delicious ( we had it twice) Prices very good. Wine list was enjoyable as was the fresh cakes & delicious coffee. We have already booked another stay! Highly recommend it, cockle train drives past, a great location!

There are lot's of stairs but worth the exercise ( pack lightly) They didn't sell sparkling water in the Bistro.

The name of the hotel ' Anchorage ' was significant as I was staying there to release my father's ashes to the ocean. I like older buildings with character & history. I thought the furnishings in the communal rooms were lovely...the organ, dining dresser etc. Positioned with a sea view was perfect.

The only thing I can say that was lacking was there were no pictures on the walls in our room which would have made it feel more welcoming & homely. As there was no air cooling we kept the fan on all night which was a little disruptive of our sleep on & off.

The location, the amenities and the staff were amazing. Really good value for money. Victor Harbour is such an amazing coastal town and everyone is so friendly. The staff at the hotel were amazing, and it’s walking distance to everything that Victor Harbour has to offer, the shops the pubs and everything is only a short walk away. The staff are always more than happy to help with telling you the best local spots. The rooms were nice and spacious, the beds are super comfortable. So happy with my stay 10/10 ❤️

Spotlessly clean, very friendly, helpful staff, great location. An historic hotel, not overly renovated. I prefer slightly shabby with the original atmosphere. Perhaps not to everyone's taste. Great cafe/restaurant downstairs.

I stayed in a front room with a sea view for the first 3 nights. My last night was in a small single room overlooking the back utility roofs.This was not as nice.

We were expecting basic rooms, but were pleasantly surprised to find we had ensuites, & all the facilities of a motel. We were also very lucky to be able to access our rooms early due to it being Christmas Day (office closed early) which allowed us to settle in at our lunch/ dinner destination without having to decamp mid-meal to check-in.

Unfortunately one can't stop others being disrespectful - banging doors & running up & down corridors etc.

The overall feel of the property was comfortable and unpretentious. The property is an old property with all of the old world charm and the Staff was super friendly - helpful with any enquiry. We were treated so well, would recommend this place highly. please note there are some upstairs rooms, if you require level access it would be handy to mention this on booking. it has a beautiful original Staircase. The upstairs balcony has stunning views of the ocean.

The bed in the room may be too low for some guests but this was a minor observation

Fabulous location on the beach front, beautiful heritage building with lots of charm, restaurant & bar downstairs is fabulous, food is lovely, staff are helpful & super friendly. The room had a spa & balcony overlooking the beautiful beach.

The building needs a bit of maintenance, cold tap in bath kept dropping off & lock on screen door to balcony broken. Very expensive fees for two nights.

A beautiful restored hotel facing the water. The long balcony offers their guest the best views in Victor Harbor. We had a no contact check-in, which worked perfectly. Their instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our budget room had a separate bathroom that was 20m from the room, which was fine. It was large and clean and had the best water pressure. The room itself had a sink and fridge, a comfortable bed . We spent time sitting on the balcony having drinks watching the water.

No complaints from us

The location was superb. It was within walking distance to the seafront, shops and eateries. I had a room with balcony looking to the sea; took some nice photos of the sunrise. Although the hotel is dated, it has a nostalgic feeling; a rare gem to stay in. The bathroom with spa was very clean.

The reach of wifi is weak; but if we have our data plan, there is not much of a problem.
