Convenient location, comfy bed, good choice of room service meals, mini bar was well stocked, friendly & accommodating staff. Breakfast is available in the dining room but I didn't try it so can't comment on that. Wanted to eat at the restaurant but it was very busy & by the time I could get a table it was late, so I decided to get room service instead. Same menu offered as in the restaurant and it was delivered quite quickly.

Parking spaces are very tight. Noisy water pipes - could hear the person in the next room have a shower at 3.30am - very annoying!

The reception (Ben) was really friendly. The room was awesome, both clean and spacious. The bed had heating on which helped a lot. The location is close by to restaurants and bars. When I checked out, they let me keep my luggage in a room while I could roam around the city since I had a bit of time for my flight.

The accomodation had a lot of stairs and no lift so can be a little difficult with the luggage. Wouldn't recommend the restaurant for any solo travellers. No one came for my order and after 15mins ,I had to go place my order myself. Food was good but I was pretty much ignored the whole evening by the staff. Didn't even get served water. The staff was asking tables nearby if everything was ok and if they needed anything else.

Hotel reception not very friendly (one person on duty Sunday morning in particular) The afternoon receptionist very helpful to an elderly person. The restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful indeed, particularly the young 16 year old who kindly escorted me from the restaurant, down a flight of stairs to my room was particularly kind.

I travelled from Stanley with a young couple and their 5 year old daughter in a luxury caravan - they booked me in to your hotel not realising that at aged 91, stairs and steps may be a problem and this may well have been a problem but for the kindness of the staff.

Quality fittings in room - sun block drapes, couch/chairs/table in sitting area, comfortable bed, iron and ironing board, extra blankets were woollen, place for luggage, clean bathroom Had a great meal at restaurant Ample parking on site Situated a short walk to Launceston central shopping area

Being woken at 5.30am by a slamming door - presumably a guest leaving early There was a high pitched noise at times when using shower - I was aware there were plumbing problems from other reviews

Everything was excellent! Especially staff explaining the parking and how to get to the room, the room was clean, the big comfortable bed lovely marble benches and mini bar was nice too and the block out curtains were good, will definitely stay again.

There was water on the shower floor when I entered the room. (Probably just the shower leaking though) There was nothing to keep the window open with to get some fresh air and the window slammed down fast and hard.

I stayed at the Colonial for 1 night. I arrived feeling quite anxious due to issues with a hire car and being alone. Jackie at the front desk was absolutely amazing. She went out of her way to help me find a good car park on-site, changed my room so it was just near the car, and made many recommendations on tourist sites to visit. I had dinner delivered from the onsite restaurant and the food was amazing. They had an excellent menu and the food arrived quickly.

Just basic cleanliness - e.g., no soap in the shower dispenser, the carpet was dirty and the overhead light at the study desk was flickering and didn't work. The shower has a strange glass screen that wouldn't stay straight on the bath edge - it kept swinging back against me. This was fine for a one night stay

The only negative is taking a copy of my drivers licence and using my credit card. I used Paypal so you wouldn't have my bank card. We all know you all only care about profit and then play the victim card when Russia inevitably hacks into your systems. I don't need a drivers licence to evacuate a building in a fire and I am not going to wait around for anybody to check my photo off from a list. Therefore there is no reason for you to have either.

It was a convenient location for us and a reasonable price for the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room service food from 3 Steps on George was delicious - we ordered different dishes over two nights and the meals were really lovely.

Only a minor point regarding the curtains in our room. It would have been good to have maybe some terrilene at the windows behind the main curtains. As the room looked out over the carpark/courtyard area and the rooms opposite, there was not much privacy when we opened the main curtains, so we tended to keep them closed.

Great location, spacious room with two queen beds and very good restaurant on site. Staff were also very helpful.

We were on the second floor but there is no lift so carrying heavy bags up two floors annoying. The safe in the room was poorly located in the bottom corner of the cupboard making it difficult to access.

Wonderful place- great location so close to CBD that you can walk everywhere. Great room- quiet, clean, large and comfortable. Great food and drinks to be had at The Three Steps restaurant and bar. This was a real surprise treat! Highly recommend for English pub amblence with good prices for food and drink. A great comfortable place on the doorstep for dinner and drinks- why go elsewhere? Will definitely come back here again.
