Location, excellent bed linen and towels and a very comfortable room for a short stay.

No wifi password available, only way to contact Reception was in person OR using your own phone. We had no sugar supplied for our tea/coffee either. The grout in the bathroom was heavily stained due to mould, and the shower head needs descaling! The windows looked out on the plain trees in Swanson Street, but they were so dirty it was better with the curtains closed. Could be an elegant boutique hotel for a central city stay, but it falls well short. From memory the double rooms are very compact, but the executive queens are an excellent size.

I'm so glad I found this place, and I'll definitely be coming back in the future!! The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well stocked (I'm very grateful for the kettle and microwave even if I didn't end up using them this time around), and the location really could not be better! It was so good to have all of Melbourne on the doorstep for exploring and then be able to come back somewhere so comfortable and accessible to rest.

I honestly can't think of anything I'd suggest to improve, I genuinely think you guys are doing a fantastic job!!

The property is extremely easy to get to, super close to public transport of many types, and after hours check-in was made extremely easy by the staff. Being a person who travels with a CPAP machine, I appreciate the abundance of power outlets around the room, and the refrigerator was larger than normal, and and perfect for keeping my insulin safe. Despite being on a main road, our room had less noise than we were expecting. Convenience stores and eateries in the area. We didn’t have to think about food or drink, but I appreciate having a microwave in case we needed to heat our own meal.

The air conditioning unit was an older in-the-window model in the particular room we had, and worked well, but it did let more street noise through than a split system would. The bathroom would benefit from an extractor fan. Other rooms in the same hotel that we’ve stayed in did have these two facilities, so it just depends on which room you get.

We stay at City Square often as rooms are big and comfortable and it is in a great location. Rates are very competitive, City Square always v good value. This time , we were given an early check-in so stay began well. Staff welcoming and very helpful. The microwave, plates, and toaster much appreciated. The TV can be turned towards the comfortable couch as well as the bed which we prefer. No beautiful view but reasonably quiet and close to transport, shops, pub, Flinders St. Thank you. Convenient location. Close to all public transport. Lots of eateries close by. Room has everything you need if you want to stay a few days. Microwave, fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, lounge area.

Hard to access PowerPoints (in awkward and hard to reach places) and not enough of them.s. Had to move bedside table and unplug lamp to heat water jug as was only power point water jug cord could reach.

The location within Melbourne CBD cannot be beaten. The room was much larger than expected with a 2 seater lounge, a good sized tv plus a table with 2 chairs. The bed was comfortable and the hot water temperature and pressure are more than anyone can use. Extremely impressed given the price.

Only 2 pillows in the room and a reading lamp on one side only despite there being bedside tables on both sides.

Location in the CBD is great if you are needing to be in the city. A few free tram stops from anything. Getting there is a straight tram ride from southern cross station. The look of the place is a little dodgy, but if you get past that, the rooms are comfortable, well appointed with fridge, microwave, toaster, bowls, cups, kettle tea, clean towels and sheets, sufficient power points and a window mounted a/c. It's old but all well serviceable. You're not paying for the Sheraton. The stay is comfortable and cozy and the staff is friendly and helpful. There's a money changer that shares the entrance to the reception, if you need it

Only one real issue. Because it's close to tram lines, you can hear the trams sort of rumbling by outside. They stop before 12, and they start again at day break. It didn't bother me much, but some people may not be able to take it. That's the price you pay for trams outside your doorstep

The room was clean and tidy. I had a late check-in and the instructions were easy to follow. Had everything I expected and needed.

One of the elevators was a bit of an issue... felt like I was going to get stuck in it. Wouldn't open doors when I pressed the call bell, but it had arrived at the floor and then went back to ground level. Best use the newer one!!

Easy access with everything.

Cleaner forgot to clean all food stuck inside the microwave, does not brush with toilet bowl properly inside. It's old motel but happy with it compy bed and we will stay again, that was out second time stay. Sorry for being prank I am just puss with cleaning as it's my Job at the moment and I got a heaps of referral about how I clean that people told me all the time I do spotless Job. So happy with the motel staff reception area safe 9/10.

We often stay at City Square as well located and very good value. Trams are outside the door. Flinders St station 5 mins walk. Convenience stores nearby. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms large and comfortable with toaster, microwave and sofa. TV moveable, not just in front of bed. Quiet and clean.

I would love to see large coffee mugs! Also, a bench is needed near the reception area for elderly people if they have to wait. Thanks.
