most things about the hotel we keep going back.

In room dining was something to avoid. It was substandard and hugely expensive. Hyatt has it's own carpark under hotel however, like most company's looking to make more money they a create a company to run it off hand. Even whilst you are a client staying there their company??? charge $75 per night to park there, or $90 per night for valet parking. We hired a vehicle from East Coast who work from the parking area separate company all together, even still we needed to pay $75 a nite to park there even though half the parking station was empty.

Service was spot on from start to finish. Rang up early to request vegan options for club lounge and request handled promptly. Club lounge service at night was excellent and the food was reasonable. Make your own spirits/cocktails and a few beers/wines on offer. Great lounge worthy setting. The staff were amazing and friendly without being intrusive.

The Club Lounge continental breakfast is not up to standard. They may as well do away with it and invite club lounge down to the buffet. Cold lifeless food. The pineapple on offer was like it has been freeze dried for space. Pastries were delicious.

The room had a brilliant view over the Yarra to the south with lounge to enjoy it. Pod coffee and superior quality teabags were provided. We really enjoyed the pool and large spa on level 9. We opted to eat breakfast at local cafes instead of in house - there are many a short walk away. We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

The dinner was a little disappointing: expensive, very small servings and an inadequate beer list that looked 20 years old. No craft beers, and nothing more exciting than Peroni. I like sampling local wine and beer when I travel.

A great location to get to the main cbd and interesting alleyways. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Cleaned and tidied our room each day. Gave us two free bottles of water each day which was terrific. The view from our window was also great.

Only complaint was the bathroom sink which emptied the water in the basin too slowly and as a result the residue remained in the basin so had to keep washing until it was clean. Not great if trying to save water or if a second person uses the sink and have to contend with the first person’s mess. Also the shower head kept falling down off the mount when the water pressure changed. Had to keep putting it back and twisting the hose so it wouldn’t fall off. a bit dangerous too if it fell on your head.

Overall my guests had a great stay.

Could have been better if the chocolates and sparkling water were delivered to the room prior to the arrival of my guests. I had to follow up the next day with numerous calls to see if my special request for chocolates had been to the room. The receptionist told me they had been delivered but my guests said there was nothing there. I had to call back to ask the receptionist to send someone up to check or to send the chocolates up again. Eventually they got there as my guest was checking out. It would have been nice to receive an apology for the mistake and miscommunication.

The staff are friendly, professional and an asset to this hotel. Notably the gentleman who checked us in, the attentive bar staff on the lobby level, the hosts in the club room and the sweet housekeeping lady we ran into in the elevator. Room 3024: Very comfortable king size bed with excellent quality linen.. The pillows are very soft so if you prefer a firmer more supportive pillow I'd suggest you bring your own (I'm not sure if the Grand Hyatt offer a pillow menu). The Grand Hyatt is also located in the cleaner, safer part of Melbourne's central business district and is within walking distance of theatres, sports stadiums and concert venues. If you are not up for the walk there are a number of trams on Collins and Flinders Streets to get you to your destination.

Room soundproofing is not great but the positives far outweigh this negative and we will definitely return.

Views from the room were great. Entire hotel was clean. Continental breakfast was great. Deluxe king room was immaculate. Staff were super friendly. Check in and check out super easy. Lobby staff very helpful. All staff were super professional. Good location with the trams on Collins Street outside the hotel, and Federation Square a short walk away. Great stay, will be back.

The only thing I didn't like was the way some older pretencious guests were staring at me in the lobby, lifts, dining... Did make me feel slightly uncomfortable.

The location of the Grand Hyatt makes it such a great place to stay. Super convenient, close to the CBD and trams lines if looking to go extra distance. The staff were extremely welcoming, always saying hello. We also had breakfast included in our meal which was an amazing bonus! Chefs were very helpful and friendly and all food was very yummy. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

The main flaw of our stay was the pillows in the room, they weren’t overly comfortable. Fortunately the bed itself was comfortable which slightly made up for the pillows.

Hotel Staff: Friendly, professional and informative from check-in to check-out. Location: Central and in the free tram zone. Club Lounge: thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the food and beverage offerings. The staff/hosts on the evening of 7/12/22 and the morning of 8/12/22 were welcoming and attentive, a true asset to the business. If you are after a big buffet breakfast I suggest you opt for the Collins Kitchen but if you are happy with bacon, eggs, mushrooms, toast and a lovely selection of baked pastries, cereal, yoghurt and fruits, the Club Lounge will meet your needs. Evening canapes included much more than we expected. Think antipasto (dips, cheese, cold meats, artichoke, olives, crackers, Turkish bread.etc). There were also warm savoury offerings and some lovely sweets. Do yourself a favour and opt for Club access when selecting your room as drinks are included from 6pm up to 10.30pm on the evening we stayed. Room: As other reviews note, the room is on the smaller side but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and the room fully equipped.for an overnight stay. We have just booked our next stay for March 2023 and look forward to returning.

A minor annoyance... Our room had an adjoining door with the neighbouring room. The door was located next to our bed and the noise from the adjoining room carried into ours which gave the impression that the walls were paper thin. The above does not take away from our overall positive experience and as noted above, we have already booked our next stay.
